Testing the Genuineness of our Faith
Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)

"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter1:6-7

Untested faith may be true faith, but it is sure to be small faith, and it is likely to remain little as long as it is without trials. Faith never prospers so well as when all things are against her: Tempests are her trainers, and bolts of lightning are her illuminators.

When a calm reigns on the sea, spread the sails as you will, the ship does not move to its harbor; for on a slumbering ocean the keel sleeps too. Let the winds rush and howl, and let the waters lift themselves, though the vessel may rock and her deck may be washed with waves and her mast may creak under the pressure of the full and swelling sail, it is then that she makes headway toward her desired haven.

No flowers are as lovely a blue as those that grow at the foot of the frozen glacier; no stars gleam as brightly as those that glisten in the midnight sky; no water tastes as sweet as that which springs up in the desert sand; and no faith is so precious as that which lives and triumphs in adversity.

Tested faith brings experience. You could not have believed your own weakness if you had not been compelled to pass through the rivers; and you would never have known God’s strength if you had not been supported
in the flood. Faith increases in quality, assurance, and intensity the more it is exercised with tribulation. Faith is precious, and its trial is precious too.

Do not let this, however, discourage those who are young in faith. You will have trials enough without seeking them: The full portion will be measured out to you in due course.

Meanwhile, if you cannot yet claim the result of long experience, thank God for what grace you have; praise Him for that degree of holy confidence you have now attained: Walk according to that rule, and you will still have more and more of the blessing of God, until your faith will remove mountains and conquer impossibilities.

Morning and Evening, November 12

Apologetics
Defending your Faith
Competing claims prompt need for apologetics

Christians curious about apologetics first need to understand what apologetics is not, Jim Denison, theologian-in-residence for the Baptist General Convention of Texas, told a conference.

Apologetics isn’t apologizing.
We’re not here to teach you how to apologize for your faith. Apologetics is simply defending your faith—explaining why you believe what you believe.
It’s what the Gospels were written to do
,” said Denison, president of the Center for Informed Faith
.
“If you sell anything, you do apologetics. If you try to convince anybody of anything, you’re doing apologetics. Christian apologetics is simply learning ways to defend our faith in Jesus.

“These days, on a new level, you’re going to be asked by skeptics why it is that you believe what you believe and whether or not a thinking person can possibly believe what it is that you claim to believe.”

The need for apologetics has increased in recent decades with the growth of other world religions and the rapidly expanding number of people who have no faith claim.

“So, we find ourselves engaged in interreligious dialogue where we have to explain what we believe and why we believe it,” he continued.
Also on the rise is postmodern thought, which challenges the notion that any truth is absolute and applicable to everyone, he said.

“It’s now conventional wisdom, if you’re under 40 years of age, that truth is personal, individual and subjective. No one has the right to force their beliefs on you. As long as I am sincere in my faith and tolerant of yours, we’ll all get along,” Denison said, explaining the postmodern mindset.

“Whether the issue is homosexuality, or it’s abortion, or it’s euthanasia, or if it’s a religious kind of defense, whatever your conversation might be, the postmodern mind says: ‘I can’t know the thing in itself. I can only know my experience of it. And my experience may not be your experience. So, there really isn’t such a thing as truth,’” he said. “This postmodern turn is killing established, institutional, traditional Christianity in Western Europe and North America. In a postmodern culture that says the Bible is irrelevant and faith is whatever you say it is, how do we respond to that?”

The postmodernist claim of no absolute truth has a foundational problem, Den-ison observed.
“To say there is no absolute truth is to make an absolute truth claim: There is no absolute truth, and I’m sure of it,” he said.

Christians should remember when defending faith that God changes lives—arguments do not, Denison said.
“Apologists, like all believers, must depend on the Holy Spirit. Human words can’t change human lives. The good news is that it’s not on you.”

Denison outlined four approaches to apologetic thought.

• Logic. The rational approach says the biblical worldview is reasonable. Following two premises that are true lead undeniably to a conclusion that can’t be disputed.

Jesus used this type of argument with the Pharisees when they confronted him about healing the man’s withered hand on the Sabbath, Denison noted. He asked if it were permissible to rescue a sheep from the ditch on the Sabbath. After their tacit affirmation, he then pointed out a man is more valuable than a sheep. Therefore, it if is permissible to help a sheep, it is permissible to help a man.

• Evidence. Jesus used this approach when he told John’s emissaries to return and tell him of what they had seen and heard. “Look at what I’ve done. Look at what’s happened. On the basis of the evidence, make your decision. … Look at what Jesus did, and you’ll know who Jesus is.”

• Experience. Jesus invited people to follow him. Once they followed, then he commanded them to be his witnesses.

“Tell your story. Somebody can certainly disagree with your logic, they can take issue with your historical data, but I can’t tell you, ‘That didn’t happen to you.’ I have no right to say, ‘No, you didn’t have that experience,’” Denison said. He pointed to the biblical example of the healed man who testified, “I was blind, but now I see.”

• Fideism. This faith-based, Spirit-led approach uses whatever method fits the current need best—the right tool for the right job.

“Let’s not decide that every application needs a hammer. Let’s use all the tools in the toolbox. I believe each method has value depending on the conversation we want to have,” Denison said.

Matthew 16:18
I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
http://biblehub.com/matthew/16-18.htm

Who is The Rock?
YESHUA, Christ Jesus, the Messiah is The
Rock on which the Christian Church is built
.

ROCK
is a play on words.  In the original mss its clear, in translations its not clear.
Jesus told Peter he was just a little pebble.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Rock, was the rock in the desert from which the Israelites drank.

The true Church is built on the LORD JESUS CHRIST - NOT Peter.
The vatican, pope are the devils cult which has deceived millions into HELL.
The true Church is invisible, has neither wall nor demonation.

1 Corinthians 10:4
All drank the same spiritual drink. For they were drinking from the spiritual Rock accompanying them, and that rock was Christ. (The Messiah).

House Church is ALL About Leaders
I think there is a common misperception that simple/house churches do not have leaders, do not want leaders, and are, by definition, leaderless.
I suppose there is truth to this if our definition of leadership involves position, hierarchy, and title along with roles that prescribe leadership to only a few people.

But I would like to suggest that the purpose of the church ought to be to develop ALL believers into leaders.
For this reason, I would say that simple/house churches are ALL about leadership.
Furthermore, the problem in the past has been that, too often,
we have limited the leadership development of others because there is only so much room for the few who are prescribed to lead from the top.

Think about what it is that ALL believers are called to do:

To be salt and light in the world.
To love neighbors sacrificially.
To make disciples.
To serve as priests.
To be an example of the incredible wealth of God’s kindness and grace.
To bring a song, a word, a prophesy when we gather.
To be ready to share God’s word of grace with others in season and out.

On and on and on.
By getting hung up on certain, particular leadership roles (apostle, evangelist, teacher) we miss the true meaning of what it means to be a follower of Jesus: it means to be an influencer.
Oh yeah, that’s what leadership is.

Imagine when the Body of Christ reaches its potential of every member a leader in his/her own right, shining forth God’s glory in his/her unique way.
What a powerful vision of a church that is unleashed to change a world!

Every member of the Body of Christ… a leader!
Should we have any other vision and should we pursue any model of Christian life that does not set this forth as THE priority?

I've Got Your Back
There is a wonderful post over at "The Sheepfold" that I wiil share an excerpt from:

The first century model of church?  Meeting in a simple setting, in a simple place. In a simple church setting you can:

- Be yourself
- Participate fully
- Be active, not passive
- Engage rather than spectate
- Praise and worship as long as you want
- Teaching is interactive; dialogue, not monologue
- Ask questions
- Take as much time as you want or need
- Share one another’s burdens and problems beyond the superficial or quick

The flexibility and freedom of the “simple church” setting allows others time and space to speak into your life.
To throw parties.
Laugh and play and eat together.
Celebrate holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings and other milestones.
Simple church is a place to share our lives and grow in Christ.
It’s a place where  “I’ve got your back and you’ve got mine.”

The Remnant Bride

Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the Darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people,
but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon yo
u.
Isaiah 60:1

LOOK at that verse.  Jesus gave me that verse back in the 1970s.  To convince me He was speaking to me, He confirmed it 3 times, from 3 sources in one week.  In my life I have never understood - until now.
YES its me personally - AND - all who are the true Bride of Christ also called the Remnant.
I kinda wish I had titled this newsletter - the Remnant Bride, or The CRY of the BRIDE.

Jesus is The Light, for sure.  We are His candles.  He is the Flame.  LIVE PURE, HOLY!
I wrote this song years ago

Remember intercessors - the true Church shines brightess in deepest Darkness and is purified by persecution.

Last Days events are happening - NOW! - and accelerating RAPIDLY!

My Dream

REMOVE the WICKED MAN from AMONG YOURSELVES!
1 Corinthians 5:13

Last night I had a very real dream.  I was sitting in one of the back pews of a church.
The singers were singing but all I could hear was noise, no words.
Kids were fighting next to me.  I requested they cease, and respect the house of GOD.
A woman on my right told me not to annoy the naughty kids.  It was surprisingly real.

As I woke I thought - that probably goes on in most churches today.
I also thought - today's churches completely lack church discipline - not only of children, but also of adults.
Sin today is on the church board, and even ordained in the pulpits.  Those in known open sin are allowed to be voting members.

A church ought to be HOLY TO THE LORD!
Sinners can be welcomed to hopefully be saved from hell - but not become one of the spiritual bricks.

1 Corinthians 11
Whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have DIED (fallen asleep).

Cast Not Your Pearls Before Swine
By Elder Gilbert Beebe, November 1, 1886
"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Matthew 7:6

This text is found in the closing part of what is familiarly termed, "Christ's Sermon on the Mount," in which he taught them privately, and gave them lessons of instruction, which are the greatest importance to the saints in all subsequent ages. These instructions should often be examined and re-examined by the children of God, as they are given for their special benefit, and contain admonitions and precepts of the most vital importance. From the rich cluster of golden maxims and rules laid down for the observance of the disciples of the Redeemer in this sermon, we are requested to give our views on the text written at the head of this article, to which we will call the especial attention of the readers.
"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs." The things which were holy under the ceremonial law were the things which were especially consecrated, or sanctified (set apart) for holy purposes, as were the tabernacle, the ark, the altar and the consecrated things of the inner temple of the Lord in Jerusalem, The tribes themselves, being solemnly set apart from all the families of mankind, were ceremonially holy, and forbidden to intermingle with the other nations of the earth, and as a consecrated and holy people they were to live on consecrated and holy food; they were forbidden to eat that which was common or unclean. Of all the beasts of the field, none but those which divided the hoof and chewed the cud were set apart by the special enactment of the Lord as the consecrated or holy sustenance of the consecrated tribes of the Lord, and these consecrated things must not be polluted by contact with other things which were not set apart; no mixture with anything else was allowed. All this was undoubtedly to signify to us that God's chosen and redeemed people, who are born of God, receive from him spiritual and immortal life, which must be fed and sustained on spiritual and immortal food. This lesson is taught us in all the types and shadows going before. For instance, when God had created man out of the dust of the ground, He provided that the food necessary for man's subsistence should grow out of the same dust of the ground. His nature and composition being of the earth, earthy, his subsistence must, to be adapted to the support of his earthly nature, be also earthy; and when man had transgressed the law of God and fallen under the curse, the earth out of which he was to subsist was also cursed for his sake, that it might be still adapted to his nature as a fallen, sinful earthy man. So in the figure, we are taught that in the spiritual creation in Christ Jesus, they who are born of the Spirit of God must be sustained on spiritual things-, as their spiritual life is in God, so is all their spiritual food and sustenance. The productions of the earth cannot feed and sustain the inward man, nor can all the joys of the Spirit, which do feed and sustain the new man, prevent the old man, the earthy nature, from requiring its earthly nourishment. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that flesh is of the earth, earthy, and cannot be sustained without that food which is produced from the earth, and he that is born of God, although he might possess all the produce of the earth, would starve if he were not fed on that bread which cometh down from heaven. Except we eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus, we have no spiritual life in us, for spiritual life can live on nothing else. Those who are thus born of God are a "chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people," etc., chosen, consecrated and set apart, "sanctified by God the Father," "elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit," etc., cleansed and washed, purged and justified, they shall be called the holy people, and as a holy, consecrated people, they are made partakers of the divine nature, and qualified to eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of man, who is the true bread which came down from heaven.
Then the things which are holy are appropriated exclusively to a holy people, a people whom God has cleansed, and which, we are forbidden, to call common. This sanctified people are called sheep, lambs and doves, and by many other figurative names, but they are never called dogs or swine. A dog is a very different kind of animal from a sheep or lamb; he neither divides the hoof, nor does he chew the cud, he is therefore unclean. His disposition is also very unlike that of the sheep or lamb; he is ferocious, quarrelsome, vicious, and, like the wolf, it is his nature to worry, scatter and kill the sheep. His food, or that on which the dog subsists, is not that which would feed the sheep and lambs, nor can the sheep and lambs subsist on what the dog can feed upon. The dog would starve in the richest pasture field, where the sheep would fatten, and the sheep starve if fed only on what dogs delight to feed upon. Dogs are dangerous animals, and we are admonished to beware of them. Some of them are said to be dumb dogs that cannot bark; sleepy dogs, lying down, loving slumber, and greedy dogs that can never have enough. In Revelation 22:15, they are classified with sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

The admonition of the Lord in our text then clearly means that his disciples shall not give, nor minister the gospel, or its provisions, its promises, its comforts, its ordinances, or any of its commands, to any who are thus designated dogs, or who are in nature, disposition, practice or appetite as unlike the regenerated and spiritual people of God as dogs are unlike and inimical to the sheep and lambs. The gospel is food to the saints, because it is Christ; the preaching of the gospel is preaching Christ, and it is food to the spiritual, and hence the ministers of the gospel are commissioned to feed the sheep and feed the lambs; to feed the flock of God which he hath purchased with his own blood, but charged to give not that which is holy (and the gospel and all its ordinances are holy) to dogs. Dogs have no use for holy things, they can do them no good, for they are not adapted to their nature or suited to their appetites; besides, it is a desecration of holy things to give them to dogs or to swine. It is true, that the Gospel is to be preached to every creature, to all nations, and in all the world, for a witness to all nations, but only those who have ears to hear can hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. The ministers of Christ have nothing but the Gospel to preach, and that they must preach wherever God is pleased to open a door for them to preach, and its effect will be to discriminate between the living and the dead. All who have been pricked in the heart by the life-giving power of the Spirit will gladly receive the Word, as did the quickened on the day of Pentecost, while all others will mock and reject the testimony. But what we understand as being intended by this admonition, is that we are forbidden to attempt to Christianize unregenerated men, by teaching them the letter of the Word, and applying to them the ordinances of the Gospel as a means of salvation, by Catechisms, Bible classes, Sunday Schools, etc as though we could so improve their carnal minds as to make them acceptable to God, without being born of the Spirit.

According to our understanding of the subject, every effort to apply the things of the Spirit of God to unregenerated men, is to give that which is holy to dogs. Theological institutions for giving ministerial qualifications to graceless youths for preaching, and to unrenewed children and adults for church membership, and for evangelizing the world by humanly devised plans and schemes, is an attempt to give that which is holy to the dogs, and is clearly a transgression of the authority of our Lord, and an open violation of the words of our text: "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine." It is not in the nature of swine to appreciate the value or beauty of pearls any more than it is the nature of dogs to relish the rich pasture on which the sheep feed. The children of God are in possession of jewels of inestimable value, which none but the children of God can appreciate or enjoy. Their spiritual privileges, their Christian love and fellowship, their gifts and graces, their experimental joys and peculiar exercises, their knowledge of divine things, are all pearls of great value to them, but their excellency cannot be known or appreciated by those who know not God. There is a fitness and utility in exhibiting these pearls among those of like precious faith, but those who have never possessed them would rudely trample on them if cast before them, as swine would trample upon the most costly and precious jewels.

Christians are greatly edified and comforted by speaking often to each other of all the way in which the Lord has led them; they can talk freely one to another of their joys and sorrows their conflicts and victories, but should they make these things the theme of their conversation in the streets and market places, or in the synagogues of Satan, they would be treated roughly; infidels, Arminians, will-worshipers, like swine, would trample them under their feet, and turn and rend the child of grace. The psalmist said, "Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul." They who fear the Lord can understand the language, they know too well the value of such precious pearls to despise or trample on them. But those who have only religion of the world neither divide the hoof nor chew the cud and like swine , serve only their swinish appetites, their god is their belly and their glory is their shame. The swine seem to have but one desire, and that is the gratification of their ravenous appetite-, cast before them the most costly and splendid gems, or pearls, and as they cannot eat them, they have no other use for them, and they would as soon trample on them as on the most common earth, and they will turn again and rend you, determined to obtain something that they can eat; so when the Christian attempts to display the glorious things of the kingdom of Christ to unbelievers, they will sometimes be surprised to find that those with whom they labor cannot appreciate those experimental things of which they speak. Expostulate with them, and demonstrate what you say by the most clear and positive Scripture authority, and they will disregard your testimony and your Scripture, and trample both under their feet, and then assail you again with as much vigor and determined violence as though you had not exhibited to them your pearls.

Sheep, swine and dogs are not suitable companions for each other, they cannot live in good communion together, nor should unnatural amalgamation be attempted, but let the sheep be associated with sheep, and let them "beware of dogs," and avoid the society of swine, and they will be more pleasantly and comfortably situated. The great and good Shepherd has told his flock, Ye "are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." He has chosen them out of the world, and called them to be a separate people. Let us then heed the admonition of our Lord, and give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast our pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend us.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
John 10:27

His sheep know His voice

Jerry Golden reports from Jerusalem, Israel.
I consider him a prophet of GOD

Much of what we once thought of as futuristic prophecy is now today's news!
And a lot of it seems to bypass most Christians who simply dont recognise that!

Turkey is rapidly establishing close ties with Iran, Russia is being drawn daily closer to the Arab world.
Anti-Semitism is now spreading like wildfire throughout the entire world.
Added to that we are witnessing the demise of the United States of America at the hands of their new "Messianic" President.
Iran is currently threatening to wipe Israel off the map, bringing Ezekiel 38:5-6 into view.
This list goes on and on with horrible genocidal stories being reported in Africa.
Syria and Lebanon are now lining up with Iran, making Isaiah 17:1 a real possibility any day now.
Greece is collapsing by following the same kind of economic insanity being implemented in the U.S.
This will cause a domino effect throughout all of Europe, making it easier for the Islamists to gain more control,
bringing about the likelihood of another Holocaust - not only for the Jewish population but Christians as well.

This list of horrors will continue and intensify in the days ahead. In short, the world as we know it is falling apart at the seams.
The only real weapon we have is our ability to reach the High Heaven with prayers, knowing that God's Will must be done as it is written.
Therefore your prayers need to be in accordance with God's Word and not taken out of context to suit yourself.
You see, God's Word is not something we live with, but something we live by.

God speaks to us in many ways, His sheep know His voice and I encourage you to spend more time in prayer seeking His Will for your life.
Ask for His Wisdom and His knowledge - setting aside your own understanding thus allowing a clear channel between you and God.
There is so much insanity today being called "Christianity" and the only way to find the truth is to spend time alone with God, never allowing man's doctrine to influence you.
You must rightly divide the Word of God not allowing yourself to make it into something you can easily live with.

God has called us to prepare to save Jewish lives that will be pouring out of Europe, running for their lives as they did in the 30's and 40's.
This time it will not just be the Nazi's, but rampant anti-Semitism has convinced many that the Jews are the problem.
The Devil has once again been able to poison the minds with blind hatred towards his enemies the Jews.
He believes that if he can destroy the Jews, and the Nation of Israel, he can prolong his reign on planet earth, thereby holding back the appearance of the returning
Messiah Yeshua (Jesus). I know that is explaining the most important event in our lives in a nutshell, but that is exactly what it is all about.

In my prayers I have often asked God why He doesn't speak to some of the great powerhouses of wealth as clearly as He has to me.
There are many who could organize a fleet of ships and pay an army to bring the Jews home when the time comes.
God gave me the answer; He said I do not have their ear. I know that may not make much sense to some, but that is what He said.
(I understand too!  Most DONT have an ear to hear.  They DO NOT WANT to know / obey the LORD.)

When God spoke it into my spirit and heart that I must begin to prepare to rescue the Jews who will be pouring out of Europe I thought I must be losing my mind.
At the time we couldn't have bought a row-boat, yet I know I heard from God. But as time moved on, step by step, He opened doors as we moved forward by faith.
Today we have established contacts across the Mediterranean in many countries.
We have established communications and contacts that would have seemed impossible when I first heard from God to prepare to rescue Jews.
We now have two 60-foot boats. It hasn't been easy, and the effort needed ahead of us often looks insurmountable.
Yet we will move forward with the full knowledge that by Faith all things are possible.

Over the past year I've mentioned many times our need for a much larger boat.
Today there are many up for sale in Turkey because of the disintegrating financial situation.
These are Turkish made Gullets and are ideal for what we need.
They are very common in this part of the Mediterranean and are not drawing a lot of attention.
Gullets (120+feet+) that originally cost $2million+ when new now can be bought for around $400k simply because they are not privately owned.
They are the assets of businesses and they are losing money every day because of the failing economy.
With such a boat we would be able to save more than three times as many as we can now with the two 60-footers.
I pray daily for this to be a reality, and as you know time is running out for us to purchase such a vessel.
What I am asking you to do is to pray about this, asking God what your part in this ministry will be.
If God speaks to your heart please respond as soon as possible for things are happening very quickly.
As summer approaches it has now become apparent that many are asking me to come and meet with them.
There will be many trips to be made in these coming months - all very important and will not be publicized for obvious reasons.
All these trips are costly and must be made. To have boats without the right contacts would be worthless.

We know many reading this are having a hard time, and we do pray for you daily. As I've said many times before, your first obligation is to provide for your family. God is well aware of your situation and needs, and it is God who needs to speak to your heart to support this, or any other Ministry.
