Israel announces key test of Arrow 3 missile interceptor system
March 2, 2012 – TEL AVIV – Israel is to test an advanced anti-ballistic missile system in the coming weeks, inevitably fuelling speculation about preparations for a possible military confrontation with Iran. The announcement that the first test of the Arrow 3 interceptor system would be performed “in the near future” was made as Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu flew to North America ahead of a crucial meeting with President Barack Obama at which Iran will top the agenda. Netanyahu is expected to press for a clear U.S. commitment to military action if diplomacy and sanctions fail. The Arrow 3 test would confirm “the interceptor missile’s effectiveness,” said Itzhak Kaya, head of the Arrow missile program at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) on Thursday. A number of different tests would be carried out within a short period to “establish its high level of reliability.” The Arrow 3 was an “improved model of the Arrow system … more capable than ever to deal with future threats”, Kaya added. The test was being conducted as part of a long-term plan devised by Israel and its U.S. partner on the Arrow missile program, he said. The unusual advance notification of the test follows an unannounced test in November of a long-range ballistic missile which intensified speculation that Israel was preparing for a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. However, Israel has come under intense pressure from U.S. officials in recent weeks to refrain from military action. In a tactical shift, Israel now appears to be focused on extracting from the White House a clear pledge that the U.S. will act militarily if sanctions and diplomacy fail to stop Iran’s nuclear program. Israel’s president, Shimon Peres, who is due to meet Obama on Sunday, told the New York Times: “We need a total and clear commitment that the catastrophe of Iran will not create an impossible situation … You have to be decisive. You have to make a choice.” Netanyahu is expected to press the U.S. to be more explicit about threatening military action when he meets Obama in Washington on Monday. Some analysts believe that Israel has deliberately talked up its threats of airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites in order to push the U.S. administration into raising its game – an approach that has already produced results on sanctions and may be succeed in producing a clearer US commitment to military action in the future. –The Guardian
JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's foreign minister said Sunday that American pressure will not affect Israeli thinking on how to cope with the threat posed by Iran's nuclear program.
Avigdor Lieberman delivered his assessment on the eve of a key meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama at the White House.
Both countries believe that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, but divisions have emerged on how to confront the threat. Israel has sent a series of signals recently that military action may be needed to stop the Iranians. The U.S., while not ruling out the threat of force, has said that tough new Western economic sanctions imposed on Iran must be given time to work. Iran claims its program is for peaceful purposes.
In comments aimed at Israel, Obama said in a magazine interview last week that he is not bluffing about attacking Iran if it builds a nuclear weapon. But he also cautioned Israel that a premature attack on Iran would do more harm than good.
North Korea tested Iranian warhead in 2010
March 5, 2012 DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
The West knew for 11 months that North Korea tested an Iranian radioactive bomb or nuclear warhead in 2010.
North Korea carried out 2 underground nuclear explosions in mid-April and around May 11 of 2010.
This news is 'leaked' hours before Hussein Obama receives Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in the White house.
The disclosure invalidates 0bama's speech to AIPAC Sunday. There will be NO joint American-Israeli communique.
That evil 0bama has known the truth but being Muslim, he wants Israel wiped out.

If (when) Israel bombs Iran, what will it mean for the United States?
You can listen to and read NEWS anywhere. What I report is from my heart, and I include links.
According to Richard Clarke, within a week it would bring soaring gas prices, terror attacks in U.S. cities, worldwide cyberwar, dead and wounded U.S. sailors, and the real possibility of broad American military involvement.
(umm . . isnt that happening now?)
About 20% of the oil traded worldwide passes through the Persian Gulf, bordered by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states.
If Israel were to bomb Iran, oil prices would immediately go up.
If Iran responded by attacking oil tankers going through the Persian Gulf, gasoline prices for U.S. consumers could double.
There'd be a wave of terrorism in USA.
Should the U.S. become involved in the Israeli-Iran conflict militarily, it will be impossible to avoid American casualties.
DUH!
Israel asks U.S. for arms that could aid Iran strike
March 9, 2012 JERUSALEM (Reuters)
Israel has asked the United States for advanced "bunker-buster" bombs and refueling planes that could improve its ability to attack Iran's underground nuclear sites.
"Such a request was made" around the time of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington this week, the official said, confirming media reports.
But the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity given the sensitivity of the issue, played down as "unrealistic" reports that the United States would condition supplying the hardware on Israel promising not to attack Iran this year.
Netanyahu told Obama at a White House meeting on Monday that Israel had not yet decided on military action against Iran, sources close to the talks said.

Has Israel already destroyed Iran nuclear program?
WikiLeaks suggested that Israel eliminated Iran's ability to produce a nuclear weapon weeks ago, at least temporarily.
Israel preparing to bomb Iran is a diversion to divert the public attention from their at home financial problems.

Mossad Chief Meir Dagan speaks out against a preemptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities anytime soon.
He says the Iranian regime is rational in its own way. Dagan believes the Iranian regime is a rational one and even its president,
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has called for Israel to be annihilated, acts in a somewhat rational way when it comes to Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Dagan says there is time to wait, perhaps as long as three years.

200 Rockets Hit Israel, 23 Gazans Killed in Return
3/12/12
TEL AVIV - The fourth consecutive day of violence between Israel and Palestinian militants in the coastal enclave of Gaza saw the number of rockets landing in southern Israel climb to more than 190 and the death toll of Palestinians - most of them militants - to 23.
At least 40 rockets landed in Israel today, the Israeli Defense Forces said, the closest landing around 25 miles from the country's biggest city, Tel Aviv. Another hit the city of Ashdod, which has a population of 200,000.
An 80 year-old Israeli woman was reported wounded by shrapnel in Ashdod, there have been no Israeli deaths.
It is the worst violence between Israel and Gaza in over a year, which started when the Israeli Air Force targeted the leader of the Popular Resistance Committee, one of the militant groups operating in Gaza, accusing the group of planning on attack on Israel via Egypt.

Hamas is in possession of missiles made in China, and hopes to get its hands on more, according to the Israel Defense website.
Israel has previously intercepted Chinese missiles being smuggled into Gaza. Several C-704 missiles were among the many tons of weapons found hidden aboard the “human aid” ship Victoria last year.
Updated versions of the missiles include a warhead with 19 kilograms of explosives surrounded by metal fragments. The fragments increase casualty rates on impact.
The three-meter missiles have a range of up to 40 kilometers.
Hamas possesses only the missiles themselves, and not the launchers designed to give greater accuracy. Instead, Gaza terrorists use simple ground launchers to send the missiles at Israeli population centers.

U.S.A. asked Russia to deliver an ultimatum to IRAN. Last chance to avoid military action.
The United States asked Russia to send Iran a message that the upcoming round of nuclear talks is its last chance to avoid a military confrontation this year.
Russia claims Israel is blackmailing Obama, which is insane.

With the USS Enterprise on its way to bring the number of US aircraft carriers located in the Persian Gulf up to three, the Navy has announced it will send four additional mine countermeasure ships to the Strait of Hormuz as tensions with Iran rise.
“Four additional mine countermeasure ships are being dispatched to the region in addition to further airborne mine countermeasure helicopters, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert told the Senate Armed Services Committee during a Navy budget hearing Thursday,” reports Stars and Stripes.
No date has been set for the deployment of the ships, but they will join the USS Enterprise, currently on its way to the Fifth Fleet area of operations, along with the USS Carl Vinson and the USS Abraham Lincoln, both of which are already patrolling the Strait of Hormuz.
“I came to the conclusion we could do better setting the theater,” Greenert told the committee while recounting a recent trip through the waterway on the USS John C. Stennis, which was under the watchful eye of Iranian naval vessels. “I wanted to be sure … that we are ready, that our folks are proficient, they’re confident, and they’re good at what they do in case called upon.”
The deployment of the anti-mine ships follows a warning by US intelligence at the end of December that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards were preparing Iranian marine commandos to place mines along the strategic oil choke point.
While a temporary closure of the Strait would send oil prices soaring, analysts believe the US has the capability to clear the waterway of mines within a 24-48 hour period, meaning crude supplies would not be significantly disrupted.

Iran threatens to close the Strait of Hormuz
A large fleet of 4 US and French nuclear aircraft carriers and a several minesweepers and mine-hunting helicopters
have piled up on both sides of the Strait of Hormuz, and Israeli naval vessels have deployed in the Red Sea.
Iran may drop sea mines into Persian Gulf.
March 1 a major Saudi pipeline was hit by small explosion, seemingly the work of professionals.
Likely a warning from Tehran.
The SWIFT cutoff of ties with Iranian banks has gone a long way toward isolating Iran from global commerce.
It will affect Iranian oil sales to its biggest customers in the Far East, China and Japan, as well as India.
USA claims it will keep the Strait of Hormuz open to traffic.
3 US aircraft carriers are standing by in the Persian Gulf, Lincoln, Carl Vinson and Enterprise together with the French Charles de Gaulle.
2 Israeli missile corvettes, the INS Lahav and INS Yafo, crossed the Suez Canal on their way to the Red Sea accompanied by the French Imidisi supply ship.

Israeli diplomat says war with Iran would engulf the world in a nightmare
March 19, 2012 – ISRAEL – Lieberman arrived in Beijing on Thursday. On Saturday he met with Vice President Xi Jinping and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi in hopes of persuading them to support tightening the sanctions on Iran. During the meeting, Israel’s top diplomat said next month’s talks between Tehran and the West represent the final opportunity to resolve the nuclear crisis peacefully. “If, God forbid, a war with breaks out with Iran, it will be a nightmare. Everyone will be involved, including the Gulf states and Saudi Arabia,” Avigdor Lieberman told the Yedioth Ahronoth daily during an official visit to China. According to a report published by the International Atomic Energy Agency last month, Iran has expanded its nuclear enrichment activities, particularly at the Natanz plant. Lieberman is aware of China’s central role in resolving the crisis. “Israel is keeping all of its options on the table,” he told Yedioth, “but we believe that with a united international front the Iranians can be convinced to abandon their nuclear ambitions. If all five permanent Security Council members present Iran with an unequivocal demand – they (Iranians) will have no choice. The Chinese have a lot of influence over Iran, and their position during the negotiations in April will be crucial,” Lieberman stated. “Despite the differences of opinion, the Chinese treat (Israel) with respect. They are very pragmatic, and this gives me hope. They are very concerned by the Iranian issue as well, because Iran’s conduct is totally unacceptable. Such an irresponsible regime – if it obtains nuclear weapons – poses a threat to the entire world.” Asked whether he preferred a military strike over the possibility of existing alongside a nuclear Iran, the Israeli FM said “a country such as Iran does not seek nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes. Therefore, the alternatives we are facing are Iran using nuclear weapons against us, or we prevent such a scenario.” -YNET
