Joint Russian-Chinese-Iranian sea-land military exercises in Syria

Beijing asked Egypt to permit the passage of 12 warships through the Suez Canal to Tartus, Syria where Moscow has a base.
When we find out it 'will be' its usually already occurred. At least one Chinese vessel transited Suez May 30th, 2012.
Russian warsips are heading for Tartus. Some likely there now.
Russian nuclear subs also involved

USA and Russia Deploy in Syria
June 19, 2012 Syria could degenerate into another Afghanistan or Balkans
USA, Europe and their Arab allies on one side, Russia, China, Iran and Hizballah on the other.
The Assad regime stays alive because 40% of the Syrian population is behind him.
The US-EU in the north, central and east, the Russians along the Mediterranean coast.
Iran and Hellzballah will prop up the Assad regime and solidify their grip in Damascus.
Al Qaeda doesnt exist, as I said before.
Amid this mess, Hamas in Gaza are firing missiles into south Israel.

Syria grounds fighter-bomber fleet for fear of more defections

It only took 90 seconds for the Mig to defect from Syria to Jordan.
Syrian President Bashar Assad ordered his entire Air Force fleet of fighter bombers grounded for fear that more pilots might defect.
CIA is in southern Turkey to help the MB rebels fight Assad.

Syria shoots down Turkish warplane
June 23, 2012 BREAKING NEWS - at posting, still unclear what really occurred.
My question - One Syrian Mig pilot defected to Jordan. Did 2 more ditch to defect?
Kurt Nemmo reported Syria Shot Down Turkish Jet Fighter Jet over Syrian territory.
Other reports say over Mediterranean Sea.
DEBKA reports Syria laid an ambush for the Turkish warplane in revenge for the defection of the Syrian Air Force pilot to Jordan with his MiG-21 warplane 21 June.
Officials in Damascus are certain his defection was organized by US and Turkish intelligence.
Syrian air defences shot down the Turkish jet fighter that went missing while on patrol near their border Friday.
The Turkish F-4 Phantom fighter bomber disappeared over the Mediterranean.
All radar and radio contact lost shortly after it departed from Erhac air base in Turkey
Turkish F-4 Phantom was lost after it took off from eastern Erhac Airport and flew over the sea opposite the Turkish-Syrian border not far from the Syrian port of Latakia.
If the Syrians did indeed bring down the Turkish F-4 jet, a new crisis could erupt. DUH!
No word on the fate of the two airmen.
Turkish ships and helicopters were searching for the airmen in cooperation with Syrian vessels. Oh??
Syria apologized, Erdogan denied receiving any apology.
Erdogan called an emergency meeting of government and military heads.
HELLzballah reported that the jet was ambushed by Syrian anti-air missiles.
Syrian news reported Friday that two military aircraft infiltrated Syrian airspace over Latakia and broke the sound barrier while flying low in threatening formation.
One was hit by Syrian anti-air fire and the second escaped.
Syria’s entire air fleet has been grounded while its spy agencies screen flight personnel for more potential defectors.
U.S. CONCERNED ISRAEL MAY LAUNCH ATTACKS ON SYRIAN WMD SITES
June 22, 2012 Bill Gertz
U.S. intelligence agencies are closely watching Israeli military for signs it will conduct strikes on Syrian stockpiles of chemical weapons, amid concerns the deadly nerve agents could fall under the control of Hezbollah or al Qaeda terrorists.
Syria’s arsenal remains vulnerable as the result of the internal conflict currently underway in Syria between government forces and opposition rebels.
The exact size of the Syrian chemical arsenal is not known. The Center for Strategic and International Studies reported several years ago that
Syria has stockpiled 500 to 1,000 metric tons of chemical agents.
The weapons are said to include long-lasting VX nerve agent and less-persistent Sarin nerve agent, as well as mustard blister agents.

Evidently the story last nite is true, a Turk plane is down.
Now, what is the truth? There are still discrepancies in reports.
NATO-US wanted a no fly zone over Syria, so Syria grounded their fleet - supposedly to prevent more defectors.
Or did Syria ground them to prevent them from being shot down - perhaps by their own (Russia) guns.
Remembering Turkey's take on Israel defending itself from a Turk attack on Israelis, Turkey still blaming Israel, we sure cannot take Turk 'truth' seriously.
SYRIA HAS a LEGAL RIGHT to SHOOT DOWN HOSTILE PLANES INSIDE THEIR DOMAIN.
Russia and China oppose outside interference in the Syrian crisis. Russia is RIGHT!
Syria has some of the most sophisticated air defenses in the Middle East, supplied by Russia.
CNN/Syrian TV - A Turkish military jet was shot down by Syrian artillery Friday after the aircraft entered Syrian airspace.
The navies of both countries were cooperating in a search for the missing pilots.
An unidentified aircraft entered Syrian airspace shortly before noon Friday at a very low altitude and high speed, and anti-aircraft artillery shot it down a kilometer from land.
While afire, the jet fell into the sea 10 kilometers (6) miles, from the shore.
Reuters - Syria shot down a Turkish warplane over the Mediterranean and Ankara warned it would respond.
Turkey is the second biggest army in NATO
Syria said the Turkish aircraft was flying low, well inside Syrian territorial waters when it was shot down.
Witnesses saw 2 jets overhead in the morning in the direction of Syrian waters but only one return.
Syria said the Turkish plane was flying low one kilometer off the Syrian coast when it was hit by anti-aircraft fire.
The plane fell in Syrian waters 10-kms (seven miles) west of the village of Um al-Touyour.
Turkey held a 2 hour emergency meeting.
Erdogan's initial comments were measured in tone. Turkish and Syrian forces working together to search for the two missing crew.
Turkey will present its final stance after the incident has been fully brought to light and decisively take the necessary steps. *
Ankara has turned against Assad, and Turkey now gives refuge to the Free Syrian Army (FSA MB rebels) on its border with Syria.
Turkey has said Assad must go. PM Erdogan, Turkey, is hardcore jihad like 0bama and other 'Arab spring' nations who have fallen the past year.
Assad has NOT been hardcore and Syrian catholics support Assad.
Turkey hosts about 32,000 Syrian refugees and allows the rebel Syrian Free Army to operate from its territory.
The opposition Syrian National Council meets in Istanbul.
It was unclear why the Syrians had shot down the aircraft, which left a base in Malatya and was flying close to a corridor linking Turkey with Northern Cyprus.
Syria may have taken a calculated gamble to boost the morale of Assad loyalists after increased defections from the military.
4 Syrian officers defect from the army
Turkey claims Downed jet was a reconnaissance aircraft, not fighter jet
The shooting down of a Turkish aircraft over Syrian territorial waters is a serious escalation and indication that the conflict would have a far bigger impact than on Syria itself

New Russian Pantsyr anti-air missile used to down Turkish warplane
June 23, 2012 Saturday Just as I suspected
Hitting the plane over the sea was a simple matter for the Pantsyr.
Syria used Russian-made self-propelled medium range anti-air Pantsyr-1 missiles recently supplied by Moscow to ambush the Turkish F-4 Super Phantom over Latakia.
This weapon can down aircraft flying at altitudes up to 12 kilometers and cruise missiles. It was most likely fired by a Russian, not a Syrian.
Turk President Abdullah Gul said, “It is impossible to ignore our fighter jet being shot down by Syria.”
That F4 had undergone partial upgrading by Israeli Aerospace. Disturbing.
Erdogan admitted the jet was shot down over the Mediterranean around 13 kilometers west of the Syrian port of Latakia.
He did not explain what a Turkish bomber fighter was doing over Syrian territorial waters.
Moscow and Damascus apparently decided it was time to stop the missions which among other things spied on the
Russian arms supplies transiting Russian bases at the Syrian ports of Tartus and Latakia.

Jun 24, 2012 Dozens of Syrian Pilots, Officers Defect - with weapons.

Russian helicopters head back to Syria
24 June 2012 A ship carrying Russian helicopters to Syria, which turned back after its insurance was cut, is expected to resume its journey accompanied by another vessel.

The ship Alaed changed its flag to the Russian Standard, will not be accompanied by military vessels.

Turkey Calls NATO
24 June 2012 [i]What do I think happened? I am suspicious, no plane or crew.
I think the Beast made sure this occurred, for its own evil purposes.[i]
Turkey has called on NATO over Syria-Russia attack on 'unarmed' Turk F-4 Phantom jet in international airspace.
Turkey said the jet was shot down without warning and without provocation.
Ankara has asked for the meeting based on Article 4 of the NATO charter.
Turkish FM said Turk jet was downed after it accidentally entered Syria on a reconnaissance mission.
Syria said it had killed several terrorists who infiltrated Friday from Turkey.
The two countries share a border about 400 miles (600 kilometers) long.
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/157166
Syria has insisted the jet was engaged while it was inside its airspace.
It has also said no act of hostility was intended. Eh?
The coast guard is still searching for the crew in the Mediterranean Sea, though hopes are fading of them being found alive.

Wreckage of downed Turkish jet found in Syrian waters
Search teams have located the wreckage of a Turkish fighter jet shot down by Syria on Friday in Syrian waters at a depth of 1,300 meters.
Turkish search-and-rescue teams found the wreckage of the fighter jet in the Mediterranean Sea on Sunday, about 1,300 meters (4,260 feet) .
They have not reached the wreck yet, he added. There was no word about survivors of the two-man crew.
The incident raises the temperature between the two regional powers significantly.

Turkey-Syria tensions rising
Ankara blames Syria for defaulting on military norms, shooting down its jet without warning.
Turkey said Syria (Russia) gave no warning before shooting down the jet.
Turkey first official response to the incident, FM stressed that international warfare rules in cases of a suspected breach of airspace were clear, and that Syria had failed to adhere to them.
You have to first send a caution, a warning. If the warning doesnt work, you scramble your planes, you send a stronger signal, you force the plane to land.
There wasnt enough time to do any of that in the time that our plane was in Syrian airspace.
(There is no TIME for multiple warnings, the speed is too fast.)
Turkish TV reported Sunday that the wreckage of jet was located at depth of 1,300 metres in Syrian waters.

Interesting speculative blog. An F4 can be a drone.
Where are the Syrian pilot and the 2 Turkish pilots? Why is the media still reporting the Turkish pilots as missing?
Was Turkish F-4 Shot Down By Syria Actually an Unmanned Drone?
Whether the pilots did indeed survive as Erdogan originally stated or if there were no pilots at all as LVB suggests, it wont matter to NATO.

British forces in Syria, Assad presidential compound said under attack
6/26/12 Unconfirmed first reports from British, French and Turkish sources say British special operations forces crossed from Turkey into northern Syria Tuesday, May 26, and advanced up to 10 kilometers inside the country. The same sources report heavy fighting around the Presidential Guards compound on the outskirts of Damascus.
debkafile’s military sources note that this compound exists to defend Bashar Assad’s presidential palace on Mount Qaisoun overlooking Damascus.
British and Gulf TV stations are again running interviews with dozens of Syrian soldiers taken prisoner by rebel forces and transferred to Free Syrian Army centers in South Turkey. But this time, they are being aired in conjunction with those two developments, indicating pivotal and coordinated military action inside the embattled country, or even the start of western intervention against the Assad regime.
Later Tuesday, Gulf military sources confirmed the presence of British special forces in Syria.
Our military sources estimate that the British military drive into Syria, if confirmed, is designed to establish the first safe zone along the Syrian-Turkish border, to be followed by more Western military incursions to establish additional zones of safe asylum in other parts of Syria.
This follow-up action would depend substantially on Syrian, Russian and Iranian (+ Hizballah) responses to the initial stage of the operation.

Turkey deploys troops, tanks, guns on Syrian border
June 28, 2012 I believe very little these days. Everything is staged. Syria may have mistaken the Turkish plane they shot down for an Israeli one.
Turkey is deploying troops along its border with Syria.
Turkey declared Syria a clear and present danger and raised its rules of engagement to an alert level.

Was Turkey Jet Shootdown a Staged Provocation? YES! News media catch up with me - only a week later.
June 28, 2012 Paul Joseph Watson
Manufactured stunts to create pretext for war one of the oldest tricks in the book
Syria’s downing of a Turkish F-4 Phantom jet last week, an event that has threatened to escalate the threat of NATO military action against President Bashar Al-Assad’s regime, mirrors previous instances where false flag provocations have been used or considered as a tool with which to create a justification for war.
Despite initially playing down the incident, Turkey today deployed anti-aircraft guns at the border with Syria in response to the shoot down and has promised to talk with NATO about potential repercussions.
Although Turkey claimed the jet was in international airspace, footage and eyewitness testimony clearly suggests that the Phantom was inside Syrian airspace and therefore a legitimate target.
