Feb. 26, 2014
4.45 am   Great horned OWL in GSB falcon box
HOLY COW!  AN OWL - inside falcons nest box!  I heard a clucking sound like the GHO makes feeding her young and looked, and behold!  There is a great horned owl, first perched outside, then went in and toured the box, scratched around, considered what color curtains they need, perched outside again.
I remember the GHO pair who stole an eagles nest at Wolf River Wisconsin in 2013 - viewers named them Bonnie and Clyde.  LOL!!!
4.54  owl gone

A GHO is about double the size of a falcon.

6.27 am  falcon arrives screaming, sit atop cam
6.40 am  falcon #2 arrives on ledge - to echupping of one on cam.
One is screaming - cant tell which = but NOT making their kak sound
6.49  falcon on cam left
6.50  falcon arrives on perch - stick extension - did the ledge falcon fly up to perch?  Didnt see.

Midday a falcon arrived silently and sat on box perch.  We think adult.

At least 2 falcons have been seen this month.  Some may be migrating thru and stopped.

March 21, 2014  Waiting4mating that never happened
6.30 am  Dawn arrives on perch facing us, turns around
 -  She calls / whines and I hear her mate reply then she sits quietly waiting for mating
6.48 she sqawks, finish your coffee and get over here!
6.54  she flies off - I never saw her mate.  He may not like this lovely box, or was offput by the RESERVED sign

8.10 am  Happened to see a falcon fly from the other side of the cliff toward the river, calling.
I guess GSB is going to check round the bend for nest next time he's there.  YES!

10.00 am++  I heard a falcon but was afk - got back and a falcon had been seen
Hendy got pics - head is flat ..

4.19 pm  falcon in box squawkin, digs around
Michelle in the nestbox !
4.37 pm  she calls,  hops out of box where she's been working onto perch
She is perched with a 'swallowtail' - I suspect awaiting Travis mating,  preens as she waits
The dawn bird on March 17 had this swallowtail appearance - she may have been here longer than we knew
4.40 pm  Travis comes and they  mate - then he flies into house and swims, then exits
