Southwest Airlines Flight Turns on Pink Cabin Lights for Pro-Abortion ‘Women’s March’ Participants
1/22/17

A Southwest Airlines flight transporting a number of men and women to the “Women’s March” on Washington on Thursday reportedly turned the cabin lights pink to show support for those attending the event, which was largely pro-abortion and feminist.

“Southwest turns on the pink lights and a loud cheer erupts. #WomensMarch” Jennifer Moran, who was aboard the flight, Tweeted, sharing a photo of the illuminated cabin.

Passenger Krystal Parrish likewise posted a photo to Instagram writing, “When your Southwest flight crew celebrate a plane full of [expletive] women and men going to the Women’s March by lighting it up!!”

Southwest Airlines has since released a statement outlining that the move wasn’t a company effort, but that individual flights often change the lighting as a statement of support for passengers.

“While we’re unaware of details surrounding a specific flight, our flight crews celebrate, commemorate, acknowledge and share in special moments with our customers all the time,” it said.

“Some of our aircraft are equipped with mood lighting and while this was not a companywide initiative, at times, our flight crews will adjust the lighting for a customer or group of customers traveling on their flight,” the company explained. “For example, in October, one of our flight crews changed the lighting to honor a breast cancer survivor onboard their flight.”

According to reports, hundreds of thousands attended the march in Washington, which included speeches and appearances from secular celebrities such as Madonna, Cher, Alicia Keyes, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem, Whoopie Goldberg, Scarlett Johannson, Natalie Portman, Emma Watson, Drew Barrymore, Lena Dunham, Vanessa Hudgens, and many others.

Some held signs such as, “We deserve to be sexual and serious, or whatever we please,” “I stand with Planned Parenthood,” “Our bodies, our minds, our power” and “I am woman, hear me roar.” Some were too explicit or profane to repost—using profanity or vulgarity—and some referred to President Trump as the “predator in chief.”

Cecile Richards, the president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, was one of the speakers at the event.

“For the majority of people in this country, Planned Parenthood is not the problem, we’re the solution,” she claimed. “My pledge today is: our doors stay open.”

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton Tweeted in support of the march, writing, “Thanks for standing, speaking & marching for our values @womensmarch. Important as ever. I truly believe we’re always stronger together.”

But a number of women who identify as “pro-life feminists” also took to the streets of Washington to counter the abortion advocacy message, holding banners and signs such as “Abortion betrays women” and “Real feminists reject abortion.” The Huffington Post reports that some attendees cussed at the pro-life women, while others thanked them for their participation.

In addition to support for abortion, which was characterized as “reproductive rights,” other platforms for marchers included immigration rights, environmental justice and “LGBTQIA rights.”

“We firmly declare that LGBTQIA rights are human rights and that it is our obligation to uplift, expand and protect the rights of our gay, lesbian, bi, queer, trans or gender non-conforming brothers, sisters and siblings. We must have the power to control our bodies and be free from gender norms, expectations and stereotypes,” the website for the event reads.

Similar marches were stated to have been held in cities across the nation, as well as internationally.

One of the event organizers, Linda Sarsour, is a Muslim and Planned Parenthood supporter. Sarsour, who serves as the executive director of the Arab American Association of New York, posted prior to the event, “God be a fence around the #womensmarch tomorrow. May God protect our marchers, may He envelope us in His love and mercy.”

Laughing    Free the Nipple
2/22/17 Colorado -  Federal judge: Fort Collins can’t enforce ban on women going topless.  A federal judge has ordered the city of Fort Collins to stop enforcing a policy that bans women from showing their breasts in public.  It started with one woman asking, "If men can go topless, why can't women?  It's sexist because it specifically discriminates against female breasts," Brittiany Hoagland said in 2015.

Hoagland, Samantha Six and a group called Free the Nipple -- Fort Collins made headlines across the country when they protested on the corner of College Avenue and Mulberry Street with nothing but "opaque dressings" covering their nipples.

The Fort Collins City Council asked for public input but ended up voting to keep the topless ban for women in place.  But the council added two exceptions: Breastfeeding mothers and girls younger than 10 years old.

After the decision, Hoagland, Six and Free the Nipple -- Fort Collins filed a civil lawsuit against the city, claiming the policy violates the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

On Wednesday, Federal Judge R. Brooke Jackson ordered an injunction preventing police and the city from enforcing the ban.

"The court essentially agreed that any statute containing the concept that 'Women are prohibited from …' is likely unconstitutional," attorney David Lane said in a statement.

In his ruling, Jackson disagreed with the argument that topless females might distract drivers and cause traffic issues that disrupt public order.

"it appears that underlying Fort Collins’ belief that topless females are uniquely disruptive of public order is [a] negative stereotype ... that society considers female breasts primarily as objects of sexual desire whereas male breasts are not," Jackson said.

The judge cited a researcher as stating that sexual objectification of the female breast leads to negative cognitive, behavioral, and emotional outcomes and contributes to higher rates of sexual assault and violence.

The judge also disagreed with the argument that seeing a woman's breasts could harm children.

"Nor has Fort Collins provided any meaningful evidence that the mere sight of a female breast endangers children. The female breast, after all, is one of the first things a child sees," Jackson wrote.

"It seems, then, that children do not need to be protected from the naked female breast itself but from the negative societal norms, expectations, and stereotypes associated with it."

Lane called the decision "Another example of the federal courts enforcing the Constitution in the face of the police and the City fighting against the Bill of Rights."

Killing Babies in Abortions is Now a Fashion Statement
2/27/17

It happened at the Golden Globes, New York Fashion Week and, now, the Oscars: America’s largest abortion provider is becoming a “fashion statement.” And, in addition to entertainment news and women’s magazines, the broadcast networks are beginning to notice the trend.

Following Sunday evening’s 89th Academy Awards ceremony, NBC anchor Natalie Morales reported on the red carpet “glitz and the glamour” that “was also mixed with politics.”

“Along with fashion statements,” Morales stressed Monday during Today, “there were plenty of political statements.” For proof, she pointed to La La Land actress Emma Stone’s support of Planned Parenthood.

“Emma Stone wore a gold Planned Parenthood pin on her golden gown,” she said, before noting additional Hollywood names bolstering other organizations like GLAAD and the ACLU with fashion choices.

Huffington Post Gives 5 Reasons Women Should Brag About Their Abortions
2/27/17

For nearly five decades, abortion activists have tried and largely failed to convince society that abortion is a good thing for women.

But they are not giving up. Abortion activists are urging women to tell their abortion-positive stories again, after the November elections brought new pro-life leaders to Congress and the White House.

Over the weekend, The Huffington Post contributor Sandy Rosenblatt wrote a column giving five reasons why women should tell their abortion-positive stories.

“… it’s our turn to share our stories,” she wrote. “Our turn to be the voice of our generation, as well as the next one. It’s our turn to be loud and not back down. It’s our responsibility to ensure we keep the right to our bodies. Our responsibility to ensure our children have the right to theirs.”

Left Pushes For $15 Minimum Wage, Wendy's Installs Self-Service Kiosks at 1,000 Locations
Oh, Leftists... you never learn.

The Left is incapable of grasping the most basic concepts -- be they political, societal, or economic -- and while it continues its crusade to raise the minimum wage for all Americans working in hourly roles, companies will routinely find ways to circumvent the economic doom those higher labor costs promise.

With this in mind, Wendy's is slated to install automated, self-ordering kiosks in 1,000 of its locations by the end of 2017. That equates to roughly 16 percent of all its locations. Needless to say, if successful (and it will be), kiosks will replace the majority of lower-skilled workers at fast-food chains and other types of businesses around the country. The Columbus Dispatch reports:

The Dublin-based burger giant started offering kiosks last year, and demand for the technology has been high from both customers and franchise owners.

"There is a huge amount of pull from (franchisees) in order to get them," David Trimm, Wendy's chief information officer, said last week during the company's investors' day.

"With the demand we are seeing ... we can absolutely see our way to having 1,000 or more restaurants live with kiosks by the end of the year."

Trimm said the kiosks accomplish two purposes: They give younger customers an ordering experience that they prefer, and they reduce labor costs.

A typical store would get three kiosks for about $15,000. Trimm estimated the payback on those machines would be less than two years, thanks to labor savings and increased sales. Customers still could order at the counter.

Kiosks are where the industry is headed, but Wendy's is ahead of the curve, said Darren Tristano, vice president with Technomic, a food-service research and consulting firm.

"They are looking to improve their automation and their labor costs, and this is a good way to do it," he said. "They are also trying to enhance the customer experience. Younger customers prefer to use a kiosk." [...]

Demand for the technology is high, and higher-volume stores will get priority, said Heidi Schauer, Wendy's spokeswoman.

Among the 1,000 kiosks will be close to 100 at company-owned stores. There already are kiosks in some central Ohio locations where Wendy's has tested the technology.

Kiosks might not immediately replace workers, but instead shift labor to other areas, Tristano said. Kiosks might also mitigate the rise of wages, something Wendy's noted as well.

"Last year was tough — 5 percent wage inflation," said Wendy's COO Bob Wright during a presentation to investors last week. Noting that the company expects a 4 percent wage increase in 2017, Wright asked, "the real question is what are we doing about it?"

Wright noted that over the past two years, his chain has eliminated 31 hours of labor per week from its restaurants and that kiosks ensure better order accuracy.

They also always show up to work on time and don't demand a living wage.

How The Federal Reserve Is Setting Up Trump For A Recession, A Housing Crisis And A Stock Market Crash

Most Americans do not understand this, but the truth is that the Federal Reserve has far more power over the U.S. economy than anyone else does, and that includes Donald Trump.  Politicians tend to get the credit or the blame for how the economy is performing, but in reality it is an unelected, unaccountable panel of central bankers that is running the show, and until something is done about the Fed our long-term economic problems will never be fixed.  For an extended analysis of this point, please see this article.  In this piece, I am going to explain why the Federal Reserve is currently setting the stage for a recession, a new housing crisis and a stock market crash, and if those things happen unfortunately it will be Donald Trump that will primarily get the blame.

On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve is expected to hike interest rates, and there is even the possibility that they will call for an acceleration of future rate hikes…

Economists generally believe the central bank’s median estimate will continue to call for three quarter-point rate increases both this year and in 2018. But there’s some risk that gets pushed to four as inflation nears the Fed’s annual 2% target and business confidence keeps juicing markets in anticipation of President Trump’s plan to cut taxes and regulations.

During the Obama years, the Federal Reserve pushed interest rates all the way to the floor, and this artificially boosted the economy.  In a recent article, Gail Tverberg explained how this works…

With falling interest rates, monthly payments can be lower, even if prices of homes and cars rise. Thus, more people can afford homes and cars, and factories are less expensive to build. The whole economy is boosted by increased “demand” (really increased affordability) for high-priced goods, thanks to the lower monthly payments.

Asset prices, such as home prices and farm prices, can rise because the reduced interest rate for debt makes them more affordable to more buyers. Assets that people already own tend to inflate, making them feel richer. In fact, owners of assets such as homes can borrow part of the increased equity, giving them more spendable income for other things. This is part of what happened leading up to the financial crash of 2008.

But the opposite is also true.

When interest rates rise, borrowing money becomes more expensive and economic activity slows down.

For the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates right now is absolutely insane.  According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s most recent projection, GDP growth for the first quarter of 2017 is supposed to be an anemic 1.2 percent.  Personally, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if we actually ended up with a negative number for the first quarter.

As Donald Trump has explained in detail, the U.S. economy is a complete mess right now, and we are teetering on the brink of a new recession.

So why in the world would the Fed raise rates unless they wanted to hurt Donald Trump?

Raising rates also threatens to bring on a new housing crisis.  Interest rates were raised prior to the subprime mortgage meltdown in 2007 and 2008, and now we could see history repeat itself.  When rates go higher, it becomes significantly more difficult for families to afford mortgage payments…

The rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage reached its all-time low in November 2012, at just 3.31%. As of this week, it was 4.21%, and by the end of 2018, it could go as high as 5.5%, forecasts Matthew Pointon, a property economist for Capital Economics.

He points out that for a homeowner with a $250,000 mortgage fixed at 3.8%, annual payments are $14,000. If that homeowner moved to a similarly-priced home but had a 5.5% rate, their annual payments would rise by $3,000 a year, to $17,000.

Of course stock investors do not like rising rates at all either.  Stocks tend to rise in low rate environments such as we have had for the past several years, and they tend to fall in high rate environments.

And according to CNBC, a “coming stock market correction” could be just around the corner…

Investors are in for a rude awakening about a coming stock market correction — most just don’t know it yet. No one knows when the crash will come or what will cause it — and no one can. But what’s worse for most investors is they have no clue how much they stand to lose when it inevitably happens.

“If you look at the market historically, we have had, on average, a crash about every eight to 10 years, and essentially the average loss is about 42 percent,” said Kendrick Wakeman, CEO of financial technology and investment analytics firm FinMason.

If stocks start to fall, how low could they ultimately go?

One technical analyst that has a stunning record of predicting short-term stock market declines in recent years is saying that the Dow could potentially drop “by more than 6,000 points to 14,800″…

But if the technical stars collide, as one chartist predicts, the blue-chip gauge could soon plunge by more than 6,000 points to 14,800. That’s nearly 30% lower, based on Friday’s close.

Sandy Jadeja, chief market strategist at Master Trading Strategies, claims several predicted stock market crashes to his name — all of them called days, or even weeks, in advance. (He told CNBC viewers, for example, that the August 2015 “Flash Crash” was coming 18 days before it hit.) He’s also made prescient calls on gold and crude oil.

And he’s extremely concerned about what this year could bring for investors. “The timeline is rapidly approaching” for the next potential Dow meltdown, said Jadeja, who shares his techniques via workshops and seminars.

Most big stock market crashes tend to happen in the fall, and that is what I portray in my novel, but the truth is that they can literally happen at any time.  If you have not seen my recent rant about how ridiculously overvalued stocks are at this moment in history, you can find it right here.  Whether you want to call it a “crash”, a “correction”, or something else, the truth is that a major downturn is coming for stocks and the only question is when it will strike.

And when things start to get bad, most of the blame will be dumped on Trump, but it won’t primarily be his fault.

It was the Federal Reserve that created this massive financial bubble, and they will also be responsible for popping it.  Hopefully we can get the American people to understand how these things really work so that accountability for what is coming can be placed where it belongs.

Senator Who Owns 3 Houses Rails Against Americans Who 'Worship Wealth'
3/19/17

The Socialist senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, set off a Twitterstorm yesterday with a tweet that was hard to believe.

Quote:
Bernie Sanders

@BernieSanders

We are living in a nation which worships wealth rather than caring for the poor. I don't think that is the nation we should be living in.

A man who owns three houses -- including the recent purchase of a vacation home for $600K -- and pays a smaller percentage of his income in taxes than most middle class Americans, should not be taking a dump on America in a glass house.

There are two possibilities for Sanders' obvious cluelessness; 1) he knew full well the kind of reaction he would get and was looking for attention; or 2) he really is oblivious to how incredibly hypocritical his words are.

I would think the latter explanation is closer to the truth. Liberals like Sanders -- like most rich liberals in Hollywood and elsewhere -- believe they deserve their wealth by dint of some special talent or brilliance they possess. They feel themselves above the mundane, petty concerns that most Americans have about great wealth. That their hearts are so noble, their intent so pure, and their lives so devoted to the less fortunate -- all this makes these liberals better than the rest of us.

If not the rest of us, certainly better than the run-of-the-mill rich people who don't share their compassion, their love for their brothers and sisters, their tolerance, and their out-and-out goodness.

It's amazing this guy got as close to the nomination of a major party as he did.
