American Pharoah wins triple crown!
June 7, 2015 - †American Pharoah, owned by orthodox Jew from Egypt, won horse racing triple crown. †Ahmed Zayat, owner of the winning horse American Pharoah, grew up in a wealthy suburb of Cairo, where his father was Egyptian President Anwar Sadatís doctor.
He entered US thoroughbred racing's all-time greats by winning the Belmont Stakes June 6, 2015 to become the first horse to capture the coveted Triple Crown in nearly 40 years.

American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes.
Ahmed Zayat has become one of the biggest forces in horse racing.
Zayat horses finished second in the Kentucky Derby 3 out of the last 4 years.

Unbeaten favourite horse Nyquist won the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.  The colt scored an eighth straight victory and gave jockey Mario Gutierrez his second win from two rides in the race.  Nyquist held off the challenge of the fast-finishing Exaggerator, with Gun Runner third.  The Kentucky Derby is the first leg of the US Triple Crown, won by American Pharoah last year.  Nyquist will go the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.

2 race horses die at Preakness
May 21, 2016
-  Homeboykris, a 9-year-old horse, died shortly after winning the first race of the day.  It collapsed on the way back to the barn after exiting the winnerís circle.  Four-year-old filly Pramedya collapsed in the middle of the fourth race with a broken left front leg and was euthanized on the track.

Exaggerator wins the Preakness Stakes

Baltimore Md  -  Exaggerator won the Preakness Stakes on a sloppy track, ending a Triple Crown bid by Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist, who lost for the first time in nine career starts.
Exaggerator won by 3 and a half lengths.
