Calamity called a Palestinian state

The Calamity called a Palestinian state
Palestinians seek statehood at UN

December  8,  2010

Palestinians enraged Israel will not obey their unreasonable demands.
Now they want UN to declare Palestine a state and force Israel.
The UN made Jordan the state for the Pestilinians back in 1948.

The Palestinian Plan B is gradually taking shape, convince as many countries as possible to recognize a Palestinian state in the
West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem, and use that to lobby the United States not to veto recognition by the U.N. Security Council.
Brazil and Argentina have recognized 'Palestine' thereby cursing their nations.  Genesis 12
Uruguay expected to follow.

US finally gets it, Jewish building freeze wont bring peace
Obama is ending pressure on Israel to impose another building freeze against Jews building homes on their own land.
Even if Israel imposed another building freeze, it still wouldn’t result in progress with the Palestinians.
Palestinians admit failure, will turn to the Godless international community to impose a settlement.
PA would now turn to the United Nations to recognize an independent Palestinian state,
something the US has threatened to veto in the absence of a bilateral agreement with Israel.

CJ, I must respectfuly disagree with your statement about "US finally gets it". While Obama has backed off somewhat about the building freeze I believe he has OTHER motives in mind.

I honestly think he's backed off, knowing Israel was going to continue building no matter what he said. This could "possibly" make it look like he was "right" in giving his PERMISSION(?) for more building. At the least it looked as if he wasn't "wrong".

We all know he talks out of both sides of his mouth. This permission he gave was, IMO discussed with the palastenians beforehand. IF the building continues (it will) the palastenians have an EXCUSE(they think) to NOT come to the table to talk AND to conduct more attacks on Israel. Obama does not want peace; he needs to inflame this on going war. My heart tells me he would NEVER, EVER side with ISRAEL ON ANYTHING.
CJ

I posted the article.  The one who wrote it said US gets it.
I know Obama doesnt 'get it'
Thank you for posting!  Very Happy

Next time you're in a dialogue with a Muslim, a pro "Palestinian", or someone from the so-called "truth" movement, just post them this verse from the Qur'an:

"Allah made the Jews leave their homes by terrorizing them so that you killed some and made many captive. And He made you inherit their lands, their homes, and their wealth. He gave you a country you had not traversed before." Qur'an 33:26

It's everything the Muslims accuse Isarelis of and shows the hypocrisy of Islam perfectly.

Norway Calls for Palestinian State
December  15,  2010
Norway upgraded the Palestinian diplomatic mission in the country to an embassy and called for the creation of a Palestinian state in 2011.
“We should all cling to the vision of 2011 being the year where we can see a new state on the world stage: a Palestinian state,” Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said at a press conference in Oslo today.

Stoere met with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in Oslo today and signed an agreement to support a $90 million program for Palestinian education that’s also backed by Germany, Finland and Ireland, Per Landemoen, a senior adviser at the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview.
Stoere said the accord is part of Norwegian efforts to shore up Palestinian institutions in anticipation of the creation of an independent state.

Direct talks between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas collapsed in September after less than a month, when Israel resumed building at West Bank settlements after a 10-month moratorium. Palestinian leaders have said they will seek recognition as a state at the United Nations if talks fail.

Argentina and Brazil have both recognized Palestine as a “free and independent state” this month. The European Union on Dec. 13 re-iterated its readiness “when appropriate, to recognize a Palestinian state.”
Fayyad said today that the Palestinian Authority has no intention of declaring a state unilaterally.
“The only thing we’re doing unilaterally is building our state and working on making the reality of it on the ground throughout,” Fayyad said. “It’s a state that we’re looking for, not yet another declaration of statehood.”

Palestinians to declare statehood in 2011
December  19,  2010
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said that his plan to establish a Palestinian state by August 2011 remains on course, in interview with Channel 2.
He denied that the Palestinians aim to seek unilateral recognition or any other alternative to a two-state solution.
Fayyad is credited with an economic upturn in the West Bank and improving law and order after a decade of violence.

Bolivia joined Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay in announcing its recognition of an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders.
The Foreign Ministry called the announcements "regrettable" and said that Israel viewed this decision with severity, and it would not help change the situation between Israel and the Palestinians.
Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously approved a resolution opposing the unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state.
US Congress does NOT favor this plan.
But Obama will do as he pleases, as usual.

December  22,  2010    UPDATE
Israel tries to STOP Palestinian statehood at UN but may be hard

Israel fights recognition of Palestinian state
This time it appears very serious and dangerous for Israel.
Israel fears if Mexico joins 3 Latin American states which have already recognized state within 1967 borders, the wave will be hard to stop.
An increasing number of representatives of Latin American states have been walking the corridors of the Foreign Ministry in recent weeks.
One after the other, like a red wave, they have come to meet with senior figures and diplomats.

The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem is not dragging its heels. On Monday, acting Director General Rafi Barak sent instructions to all Israeli representatives of all ranks around the world, including explanatory and legal arguments against Palestinian aspirations towards international recognition of their state, and against their attempts to promote UN General Assembly resolutions condemning Israel. However, it seems the Palestinian wave continues to gather strength.

USA may recognize Palestinian state
December 26, 2010
After 4 Latin American countries recognize Palestinian state within 1967 borders, Israel warns U.S.A. may follow suit.
Ecuador joined other Latin American countries in recognizing a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.
Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Ecuador recognize Palestinian state.  Uruguay said it would recognize 'Palestine' in 2011.
Israel may face harsh ramifications, because Palestinians dont want peace anyway.

The ministers also discussed the escalation of rockets being fired from Gaza recently, only a few hours after IDF forces killed two terrorist who tried to plant explosive devices near the security fence.
Ben-Eliezer said, I hope Hamas will stop the firing from Gaza Strip. We have no interest in escalation.  We have no choice but to react. In such a reality when we wake up every morning to a rocket being fired – don't expect us to return to our daily agenda. If they think they can continue to disturb the lives of families and that we will thank them for it, and that they can continue to attempt to kidnap our people – we won't allow it. However, I'll repeat myself – we have no interest in escalation.

The finance minister predicted that a confrontation along the Gaza Strip is inevitable. "Hamas is an extreme terror organization who's goal is to destroy Israel. A time might definitely come when we will have to fight and subjugate them. Sooner or later Israel won't have a choice but to overpower the Hamas regime in Gaza, and I predict they'll make us do it."

Obama expects Israel to commit suicide
December 27,  2010    Aaron Klein
The Obama administration is pressing Israel to enter into negotiations with Syria aimed at compelling an Israeli retreat from the strategic Golan Heights.
Syria is in a military alliance with Iran. The country twice used the Golan, which looks down on Israeli population centers, to mount grounds invasions into the Jewish state.
Dennis Ross, an envoy for the White House in the Middle East, visited both Israel and Syria last week to discuss specifics of a deal in which Syria would eventually take most of the Golan.

Ross is slated to become Obama's main envoy to the Israeli-Palestinian affairs issue, with the current envoy, George Mitchell, expected to step down.
With Israel, Ross discussed specifics of a deal with Syria, including which territory Israel would be expected to evacuate in both the Golan and the Jordan Valley, the security officials said.

The officials said that Ross told Syria it needs to scale back its relationship with Iran and stop facilitating the re-armament of Hezbollah. The Iranian-backed Hezbollah reportedly now has over 10,000 missiles and rockets, including a large number that can reach Tel Aviv and beyond.
During the 2008 Second Lebanon War, Hezbollah's rocket attacks against the Israeli north in 2006 killed 43 Israeli civilians and wounded more than 4,000.  READ the REST

PA embassy to open in Brazil THIS WEEK!
Abbas laid cornerstone Dec 31
December 29,  2010    PA president set to preside over ground breaking ceremony in Brasilia; move follows Brazil's recognition of Palestinian state.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was scheduled to lay the cornerstone of a new Palestinian Embassy in Brazil's capital, Brasilia later this week, AFP reported.
After presiding over the ground breaking ceremony on Friday, the PA president is to attend the inauguration of Brazil's next president, Dilma Rousseff, according to the report.

Earlier in the month, Brazil said it had recognized the state of Palestine based on borders at the time of Israel's 1967 conquest of the West Bank.
The Brazilian Foreign Ministry said the recognition was in response to a request made by Abbas a month to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva a month earlier.
Silva sent a letter to Abbas on Dec. 1, saying Brazil recognizes Palestine and hopes that the recognition will help lead to states of Israel and Palestine "that will coexist peacefully and in security."

The foreign ministry sad that the recognition is "in line with Brazil's historic willingness to contribute to peace between Israel and Palestine."
Following in Brazil’s footsteps, Argentina announced several days later that it recognized a “free and independent” Palestinian state, sparking an immediate condemnation from Israel.

Argentina’s President Cristina Kirchner told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in a letter that her country recognized a Palestine defined by 1967 borders, Argentine officials said.
Most recently, Uruguay's foreign minister said last Thursday that his country plans to join the other South American countries in recognizing a Palestinian state.

Minister Luis Almagro told reporters that the decision to formally recognize a sovereign Palestinian state has been taken, though officials are studying the implications of that decision with regard to international law and politics. The recognition was expected to take place in the earlier part of 2011.

My Comments
GOD confirmed this covenant with Abraham's grandson Jacob (Israel).
The land of Israel belongs to the bloodline of Jacob forever, to those we today call 'Jews.'
People do not care to see, to their peril, a connection between man's sin and GOD's actions.
Time is UP.  There is NO going back.  Anyone calling themselves a prophet who says we can collectively repent is false.
There is always an open door for an individual to repent and return to the LORD and His ways.
REPENT is NOT being sorry and continuing in sin, excusing sin or blaming.  REPENT is STOP, and turn around and go the other way.

Chile recognizes independent Palestinian state
January 7, 2011 Chilean President Sebastian Pinera's announcement preceded by official recognition of Palestine by Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay.

Uruguay also announced that they planned to join Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia in recognizing a Palestinian state in March 2011.

Palestinians have been seeking international recognition of a state at a time when talks on a long-term peace settlement with Israel are deadlocked.

Earlier this month, Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina recognized Palestine as an independent state within its borders prior to 1967, in decisions that the United States and Israel slammed as counterproductive and damaging.

Medvedev: As we did in 1988, Russia still recognizes an independent Palestine

Russian president makes announcement after meeting with PA President Mahmoud Abbas in West Bank; Israeli officials fear recognition will cause a domino effect of other states following Russia's lead, including China
.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev endorsed a Palestinian state on Tuesday, saying Moscow had recognized independence in 1988 and was not changing the position adopted by the former Soviet Union.

Making his first visit to the Israeli-occupied West Bank as Russian head of state, Medvedev stopped short of issuing a ringing declaration of recognition of Palestinian statehood by the modern Russian Federation which he represents.

"Russia's position remains unchanged. Russia made its choice a long time ago ... we supported and will support the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to an independent state with its capital in East Jerusalem," Medvedev said.

Israel has been alarmed in the past two months by a string of recognitions by Latin American states including Brazil and Argentina, which some analysts say could be a precursor to a move by the Palestinians to seek full United Nations membership if efforts to revive moribund peace negotiations fall through.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has confirmed that is one of his options. At a news conference with Medvedev in Jericho he thanked Russia for being "one of the first states in the world to recognize the state of Palestine in 1988".

Communist Moscow recognized a Palestinian state declared by the late Yasser Arafat, in a move that won broad support in the Soviet bloc and developing world but had little real impact on diplomatic and political realities.

The Palestinians today say 109 states out of 192 United Nations member countries recognize their statehood. Israel has warned that a "unilateral declaration" of statehood would set back the peace process.

A senior Israeli intelligence official told a Knesset committee on Tuesday he expected more recognitions by the time of the UN General Assembly in September.

Medvedev drove into the West Bank in a convoy from Amman airport in Jordan, crossing over the historic Allenby Bridge in an unusual route for a head of state that was dictated by an Israeli foreign ministry strike, which had forced him to cancel the Israel leg of his trip.

Officials said they could not remember when a visitor of that level had used the Allenby crossing, which was shut down to normal traffic for the occasion. The crossing is controlled by Israeli immigration and security.

Medvedev drew applause from Palestinians when he noted that "this is the first visit of a Russian president to Palestine not united with a visit to another country" -- a clear reference to Israel which would normally have been his first stop.

Russia is a partner of the United States, European Union and United Nations in "the Quartet" of international powers overseeing Middle East peace negotiations.

A number of former Soviet bloc east European states that are now in the EU also recognized Palestine in 1988. But the United States and west European governments do not.

Quartet foreign ministers were due to meet next month in Munich to discuss ways to revive the Middle East peace process, which has been a foreign policy priority for U.S. President Barack Obama but has ground to a halt due to a dispute over Israel's West Bank settlements policy.

Medvedev said this was the main topic of his talks.

"We discussed the possible prospective of resuming the dialogue. In order to do that, we need to express maximum moderation. This in the first place relates to the freezing of settlement activity of Israel on the West Bank and in East Jerusalem," he said.

Israel apologized to the Kremlin for having to cancel Medvedev's first trip when foreign ministry diplomats who would normally prepare it stepped up their strike action last month to win better pay and conditions.

The last presidential visitor from Moscow was Medvedev's predecessor Vladimir Putin, now the Russian prime minister, in 2005. Medvedev expressed his understanding for the cancellation, saying it would not harm relations with Israel.

He was due to meet Jordan's King Abdullah later on Tuesday.

Obama to withhold UN veto

Genesis 12

January 22, 2011    DEBKAfile Exclusive Report

Obama to withhold veto from Palestinian UN move to condemn Israeli settlements
Non-veto would spark a US-Israel crisis
By failing to veto a Palestinian motion on settlements, Obama is dictating future borders which no mainstream Israeli party would accept.
Israel would become indefensible and subject to annihilation.

Israel and the US are set for a collision if Barack Hussein Obama stands by his refusal to veto a Palestinian-Arab motion due to be tabled at the UN Security Council condemning Israel for its settlement policy in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Obama would be the first US president to let an anti-Israel motion go through the Security Council, building on the West Bank and even in the 40 year old suburbs of East Jerusalem would become illegal, as would also municipal, police and military actions in these places.

This situation would throw Israel's relations with the USA, the UN and the European Union into deep crisis. By failing to block such a motion, Obama would encourage the Palestinians and hostile Arab states to continue to use the UN Security Council to undermine Israel's legitimacy and even recognize a unilateral Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders without negotiations.

Traditionally U.S. has voted against anti-Israel UN resolutions.  However, Obama will NOT veto an upcoming United Nations resolution condemning all Jewish construction in the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem.  A U.N. resolution already deems Israeli construction in the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem as illegal.
The U.S. signaled to the European Union it would not object if the EU unilaterally recognizes a Palestinian state.

It is Israel's land, and they have GOD's right to build homes for their people on it!  Such abstention would be unprecedented.
GOD judges this very quickly, as a curse on Israel.  Read Genesis 12.

Chile urges Israel to make peace
Israel tells Chile - we TRY!!

March 6, 2011  Sunday

Chile has recognized the imaginary state of Palestine.
Pinera tells Netanyahu Palestinians have the right for a free and democratic state. You mustn't miss the opportunity for peace.
Prime minister said Palestinians have done all they can to avoid talking to us.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Jerusalem Sunday with Chilean President Sebastian Pinera.
Netanyahu said Israel is always ready to talk, but the Palestinians come up with excuses not to do so.
Saturday Pinera told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday, and said that the Palestinians have the right for a free and democratic state.

Britain upgrades Palestinian diplomat status
March 7, 2011
Ahead of talks with Abbas, Foreign Secretary Hague tells lawmakers Palestinian representation to be recognized as full diplomatic mission rather than delegation;
'we will work with all parties to press for decisive breakthrough in peace process this year.
Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague announced Monday the UK will upgrade the status of Palestinian representatives in London, ahead of talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Hague is scheduled to meet with Abbas in London on Tuesday and said he would also raise his concern over the lack of progress on resuming talks on the Middle East peace process.

EU recognition of Palestinian state

These nations have invited God's curse on them.

March 16, 2011

European Union recognition of a Palestinian state is a possibility that should be kept in mind, said French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe.
There's no point recognizing the Palestinian state on our own. It must be done together, by all EU countries.
Several countries have upgraded the status of Palestinian delegations.

Britain previously made the same move, following France, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, and most recently Denmark.
Norway, which is not a member of the EU, upgraded the Palestinian delegation to mission and handed its chief the rank of ambassador.
Many Latin American countries have also recently recognized the Palestinian state.

LAMENT for JERUSALEM
Jerusalem Jerusalem are you ready for the worse?
Your enemies have surrounded you and they will subjugate you, not through war but through peace.
You will capitulate and will make peace with them but not through Me.
Did I not give you a sword in you hand?  The sword I placed in your hand is not to capitulate with your enemies that I despise, but the sword is to dominate them, but you will capitulate.
They will be glad and you will mourn. ”Jerusalem Jerusalem, a handful of your soil I wish I could have, because on your ground the Lord walked but you did not know Him.
Jerusalem Jerusalem a drop of water of  your springs I wish I could drink, because from the water of your springs the Lord did drink, but you pursued Him.

You are not alone Jerusalem. My prophets fight for you. My prophets are chased, even pursued in your favor but defeat will not overtake them, because with victory they will be crowned. Victory in your favor.
Jerusalem Jerusalem, did I not torture My soul in your favor? Did I not harass My Spirit in your favor?
Jerusalem Jerusalem, birthplace of my mother what would I not give to make you return?
Return Jerusalem, return Jerusalem. Your bridegrooms were not bridegrooms.
I did not prepare them for you my daughter but the Samaritan woman spoke the truth.

Five husbands did I take and the one that I have now is not mine.
Jerusalem Jerusalem, five bridegrooms you have taken and the one you now have is not yours.
Return to Me and I will give you the Real One.

The first bridegroom was the Ethiopian, the one in the good looks, in the good looks of Sodom that Lot chose and not Me.
The second was the Egyptian. The peaceful slavery. Peace even as slaves.
The third was the Medopersian because you said that two will protect me better than one.
The fourth was Alexander. The man who protected man from other man. But they are all men.

The fifth was the Roman, the world emperor, the Caesar who had the whole earth under his feet but I have him under My feet.
He was the master of the whole earth but you are not of  this earth, still you were enslaved.
The one you now have is the one to reveal himself. Through them you did seek for peace but you did not find peace.
You made a testament of marriage with them, still you are childless.

STOP BUILDING in SAMARIA!

Ban Moon tells Israel to halt building in Jerusalem and Samaria
March 30, 2011
The occupation that started in 1967 is morally and politically unsustainable, and must end, said Moon.
Ban Moon harshly criticized Israel building homes for Jews.  He praised the PA who walked out on talks.
He told Israel to stop defending itself.  I say ban Moon!
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called on Israel to stop building in Samaria (wbank) and east Jerusalem.
Moon said a way must be found for Jerusalem to emerge as a capital of two States by September.
An Evil Palestinian State is fast-approaching.
The occupation that started in 1967 is morally and politically unsustainable, and must end.
OCCUPATION?  Israel fairly won the land in a war Arabs started.  The land is Israel, not 'occupied.'

MENE MENE TEKEL PERES! .

MENE God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it.
TEKEL you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient.
PERES (upharsin, to parse) your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Persians (Iran)
The handwriting on the wall - Daniel 5:25-28

Shimon Peres means Divide.  He is Israel's president.
DO NOT divide God's land and give it to the enemies of GOD!

In Joel, GOD is furious at Israel for parting, parceling, dividing His land - ISRAEL.
The LITV translation of Daniel 5:25 reads these values
A MINA, A SHEKEL, and HALF MINAS.  The KJV and other translations read
UPHARSIN in 25 but PERES in 28.  One version uses PARSIN, as if parceling, dividing.

Upharsin  (and they divide), one of the words written by the mysterious hand on the wall
of Belshazzar's palace (Daniel 5:25). It is a pure Chaldean word. Peres is only a simple form
of the same word.  Daniel wrote while in captivity in Chaldea in Iraq.

I found the LITV easiest for me to understand.  A mina and a shekel are weight measures,
like an ounce.  Today a shekel is also like money, like pennies.  In America this hand writing
could be  A POUND, AN OUNCE, and 2 HALF POUNDS.  Figuratively it would be
like saying the east and west half of the USA will be divided, and no longer one entity.
I expect America to split in half along the Mississippi River.

I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.
Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and
My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations
and they have divided up My land!
and they have divided up My land!
and they have divided up My land!

Joel 3:2

I can hear God's anger over that!!

ISRAEL Fears U.N  ‘Palestine’ resolution
March 28, 2011
Israel failed to realize until recently that the Palestinian bid to win United Nations endorsement for statehood in September could have profound consequences.
Israel just found out about little-known UNGA Resolution 377
UNGA was passed in 1950 because Russia was vetoing.
If the Palestinians can gain General Assembly recognition for statehood under UNGA, it would be a real obstacle, not just a public relations setback. This would seek to impose a Palestinian state on Israel by force of intl troops in Israel.

Norway to Jews: You're Not Welcome Here
Anti-Semitism doesn't even mask itself as anti-Zionism

3/29/11

I recently completed a tour of Norwegian universities, where I spoke about international law as applied to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But the tour nearly never happened.

Its sponsor, a Norwegian pro-Israel group, offered to have me lecture without any charge to the three major universities. Norwegian universities generally jump at any opportunity to invite lecturers from elsewhere. When my Harvard colleague Stephen Walt, co-author of "The Israel Lobby," came to Norway, he was immediately invited to present a lecture at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. Likewise with Ilan Pappe, a demonizer of Israel who teaches at Oxford.

My hosts expected, therefore, that their offer to have me present a different academic perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be eagerly accepted. I have written half a dozen books on the subject presenting a centrist view in support of the two-state solution. But the universities refused.

The dean of the law faculty at Bergen University said he would be "honored" to have me present a lecture "on the O.J. Simpson case," as long as I was willing to promise not to mention Israel. An administrator at the Trondheim school said that Israel was too "controversial."

The University of Oslo simply said "no" without offering an excuse. That led one journalist to wonder whether the Norwegian universities believe that I am "not entirely house-trained."

Only once before have I been prevented from lecturing at universities in a country. The other country was Apartheid South Africa.

Despite the faculties' refusals to invite me, I delivered three lectures to packed auditoriums at the invitation of student groups. I received sustained applause both before and after the talks.

It was then that I realized why all this happened. At all of the Norwegian universities, there have been efforts to enact academic and cultural boycotts of Jewish Israeli academics. This boycott is directed against Israel's "occupation" of Palestinian land—but the occupation that the boycott supporters have in mind is not of the West Bank but rather of Israel itself. Here is the first line of their petition: "Since 1948 the state of Israel has occupied Palestinian land . . ."

The administrations of the universities have refused to go along with this form of collective punishment of all Israeli academics, so the formal demand for a boycott failed. But in practice it exists. Jewish pro-Israel speakers are subject to a de facto boycott.

The first boycott signatory was Trond Adresen, a professor at Trondheim. About Jews, he has written: "There is something immensely self-satisfied and self-centered at the tribal mentality that is so prevalent among Jews. . . . [They] as a whole, are characterized by this mentality. . . . It is no less legitimate to say such a thing about Jews in 2008-2009 than it was to make the same point about the Germans around 1938."

This line of talk—directed at Jews, not Israel—is apparently acceptable among many in Norway's elite. Consider former Prime Minister Kare Willock's reaction to President Obama's selection of Rahm Emanuel as his first chief of staff: "It does not look too promising, he has chosen a chief of staff who is Jewish." Mr. Willock didn't know anything about Mr. Emanuel's views—he based his criticism on the sole fact that Mr. Emanuel is a Jew. Perhaps unsurprisingly, fewer than 1,000 Jews live in Norway today.

The country's foreign minister recently wrote an article justifying his contacts with Hamas. He said that the essential philosophy of Norway is "dialogue." That dialogue, it turns out, is one-sided. Hamas and its supporters are invited into the dialogue, but supporters of Israel are excluded by an implicit, yet very real, boycott against pro-Israel views

Conflict with Hamas likely to escalate
April  13,  2011
IDF soldiers to remain on high alert along the Gaza border as thousands of trucks carrying goods pass into Gaza.
A shaky cease-fire went into effect, ending several days of Gaza attacks on Israel.
Sunday night a rocket hit south of Ashkelon but on Monday the border was quiet, with the IDF, Hamas and Islamic Jihad abiding by a hudna (phony cease-fire).

IDF sources said they predicted that while the cease-fire had gone into effect, it would likely be limited in time.
“We succeeded in postponing a large-scale conflict with Hamas but that conflict is likely inevitable,” one senior officer said on Monday.

At the same time, the officers predicted that the fighting with Hamas and the other Palestinian terror groups would likely return to the buffer zone along the border between Gaza and Egypt.
Since the beginning of the year, the IDF’s Gaza Division has discovered dozens of improvised explosive devices along the border, a sharp increase in comparison to 2010.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories announced on Monday that despite the recent escalation in violence, it had coordinated the transfer of 3,656 trucks to the Gaza Strip with food and medical supplies.

Gaza is now Egypt with thousands of missiles

May  31,  2011    I have added my comments from previous knowledge, and edited debka.

Gaza belongs righteously to Israel, according to GOD.  Gaza now essentially belongs to Egypt, or is in that process.  Israel wrongly gave Gaza to the Palestinians in 2005.
Cairo is controlling security in Gaza.  Hamas is gaining momentum in both Egypt and Gaza.
The EVIL Muslim Brotherhood jihadists are rising to power in Egypt, who have NO intention to honor the peace with Israel.  Just the OPPOSITE.

Hamas-Gaza has stockpiled over 10,000 missiles, including anti-tank and anti-air missiles and a 120 mm mortar shell in Gaza, despite Israel's partial blockade of Gaza.
April 9, the Palestinians shot 133 rockets at 7 Israeli cities.  Hamas fired an anti-tank missile April 7 at an Israeli school bus causing the death of a 16-year old Israeli boy.

When Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin 'Bibi' Netanyahu said May 30 that Hamas is expanding control of Egyptian Sinai, he omitted the smuggling tunnels.
Since Hosni Mubarak's ouster in February, the Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoot Hamas have gained traction in Egypt proper.

Israel does little or nothing about weaponry smuggled into enemy nations.  What could they do without starting war?
The UN hate Israel and they wont stop it.  In fact, UNIFIL COOPERATES with the terrorists so much that the Hellzballah flag flew next to the UN flag at UNIFIL headquarters in South Lebanon!

Colombia:  We Will Not Recognise Palestinian State
After suffering a series of diplomatic defeats to the Palestinians in Latin America, Israel won a rare victory on Wednesday when Colombia announced that it would not unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state.
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón told a delegation of the World Jewish Congress in a meeting in the Colombian capital of Bogota that his governmentwould not recognize Palestinian statehood as "a matter of principle."
"We value your friendship and courage for Israel and the Jewish people," World Jewish Congress President Ronald Lauder said. "We also appreciate that you have withstood pressure from fellow Latin American leaders to prematurely recognize a Palestinian state."
In the past half year a string of Latin American countries, mostly with left-leaning governments, including Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Guyana have recognized Palestinian statehood. Chile, which has a right-leaning government, has also recognized Palestinian statehood with caveats.

Palestinians gear for Sunday march on Israel's borders

6/1/11  Pro-Palestinian pages on social media websites buzzing with calls to rush to all borders on day marking 44th anniversary of Six Day War

Fatah representative in Lebanon, Munir Maqdah, said Tuesday that Palestinians residing in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Gaza were planning to march towards their respective borders with Israel on Sunday, the 44th anniversary of the Six Day War.

"We want our lands in Palestine back," Maqdah said, noting that the processions aim to remain non-violent. He also urged UNIFIL forces in south Lebanon to "ensure the march's safety."

The Fatah official's statement is the last in a myriad of activities calling on pro-Palestinian activists to march on Israel's borders.

The highest flurry of activities is noted on Facebook, where various pro-Palestinian group have issued a similar call: "Our Palestinian countrymen, as part of our just pursuit of statehood… and in response to Netanyahu's speech in Congress and Obama's hesitant speech, we emphasize that Palestine is our land and the land of our forefathers and that will not accept any division or compromise.

'Youth of June 5' Facebook Page

"On this day, June 5, we urge you to take active part in actions meant to empathize with our prisoners," the "Youth of June 5" page read.

Facebook pages affiliated with Syrian pro-Palestinian groups, called on the masses to "unite and turn June 5 into a day commemorating the fallen and right of return."

Another group urges masses to "march on Israel's border this Saturday and free the Golan Heights."
Still, at this time no concrete plans for any march have been posted on social media websites.

The Vatican issued the statement Friday after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with Pope Benedict XVI and other Vatican officials.

During the meetings, the two sides discussed the need to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and recognize the “legitimate” rights of Palestinians to a homeland. The Vatican said “that soon the state of Israel and the Palestinian state must live in security, at peace with their neighbors and within internationally recognized borders.”

U.S., EU to present Mideast peace plan in last push to prevent Palestinian UN bid

June 28, 2011
Mideast Quartet to hold summit in Washington on July 11 and present new international peace plan as alternative to the Palestinian move.
In a last-minute effort to stop the Palestinians from seeking unilateral recognition at the United Nations in September, the Mideast Quartet is planning to present a
new international peace plan at a summit in Washington on July 11, senior Israeli and European officials said Tuesday.

The Quartet's envoys - representing the United States, the European Union, the United Nations, and Russia – will be mapping out a peace plan based on U.S. President Barack Obama's Mideast speech on May 19, which is supposed to present an alternative to the Palestinian move at the UN.

The summit will be taking place at a very critical time – only four days before the appointed date that the Palestinians set to officially appeal to the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and to send him Palestine's request for full membership at the UN.

The Palestinians must appeal to the UN chief on July 15 if they wish to have sufficient time to suggest the subject for a vote during the UN General Assembly session in mid-September.

The Quartet summit will convene following heavy pressure on the U.S. government by the EU, in particular by Germany, France, and Britain, to present an international peace plan.
Due to European pressure, the U.S. agreed to host the summit, but the Obama administration is still trying to stop the Palestinian move by other means.

U.S. envoys Dennis Ross and David Hale conducted two rounds of talks in recent weeks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in an effort to draw up a formula for a compromise which will be used to invite both sides to engage in direct negotiations in the United States.

US bailout for Palestinian economy – only if Abbas drops UN plan

July  4,  2011     Monday

.

On this front, Abbas is also facing a squeeze.  An 0bamite visited Jerusalem and Ramallah to inform both that
Obama will not take no for an answer to his invitation to send delegates to Washington to prepare the opening ceremony for revived Israel-Palestinian negotiations.
Abbas was told that direct talks with Israel was his only option, he must therefore abandon his plan to have the UN vote to approve a Palestinian state within 1967 boundaries in September.
Abbas knows if he sticks to his UN initiative, the US Congress will freeze the money for Hamas terrorism.

Abbas Dictates Terms to Quartet
PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas dictated his terms for dropping his statehood bid at the United Nations in September to the Mideast Quartet.
Abbas advisor Nimer Hammad told reporters the PA will abandon its plan to ask the UN in September to recognize a PA based on pre-1967-lines if Quartet members – the US, EU, UN and Russia – recognize the two-state principle as the basis for a settlement, and call on Israel to withdraw from all territories captured in 1967, including east Jerusalem.
Hammad also said the Quartet should also call for a full cessation of construction in Jewish settlements and set a clear timetable for Israeli-PA peace talks.

The PA's bombastic posturing comes as Abbas' unilateral bid outside the framework of the Oslo Accords to have a state imposed by the international community finds itself losing momentum.
Quartet members have individually opposed the move, as have several western European nations, and even Jordan. Arab support has proven tepid.
Quartet representatives are scheduled to meet on July 11 to discuss developments in the Middle East and how the PA's bid at the UN would affect the peace process.

“The Palestinian Authority is determined to proceed with its plan to go to the UN Security Council if Israel continues to deny the rights of the Palestinians and international legitimacy,” Hammad said.
“We are continuing with preparations in the legal and international arenas for the September battle. But if the Quartet endorses the two-state solution and demands a freeze of settlement construction, we will change our mind.”

PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat said Monday the PA would return to the negotiating table when Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declares his acceptance of the two-state solution on the basis of the pre-1967 lines and halts construction not only in the Judea and Samaria, but also in east Jerusalem.
Erekat claimed a new construction freeze by Israel and dilineating defacto borders before negotiations did not constitute "pre-conditions" on the PA's part.

Erekat is scheduled to visit Washington later this week for talks with US Administration officials on the statehood bid and ways of resuming the stalled peace process with Israel. He will be accompanied by Abbas’s spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudaineh.
The US openly opposes the PA bid at the UN and has said it will exercise its security council veto to scuttle it should it be brought to a vote. The US senate also unanimously passed a non-binding resolution calling on the Obama administration to cancel all aid to the PA if it pursues statehood at the UN.

Prime Minister Erdoğan’s meeting with US senators McCain, Lieberman and Graham might be a step to a turning point in Israeli-Palestinian talks
http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/...can-convince-hamas8217-2011-07-03

7/3/11

Only Turkey can convince the Palestinian organization Hamas to join in peace talks with Israel, three U.S. senators told the prime minister over the weekend, according to well-placed sources.

In response, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told John McCain, Joseph Lieberman and Lindsey Graham that if Hamas was “encouraged” to participate in Palestinian peace talks, then Turkey “would do its best” to convince the organization to sit at the negotiating table, according to sources.

The senators visited Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erodğan on Friday to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Well-placed sources told the Hürriyet Daily News that the senators asked Erdoğan about the Israeli-Palestinian situation and he told them that peace would be nearly impossible without Hamas involved in the talks. They told Erdoğan that with its rising prestige on the Arab street, Turkey could perhaps be the only country that able to bring Hamas to the table, according to the sources.

A group of ranking members of the United States Senate told Turkish Prime Minister in a meeting in Ankara last week that only Turkey could convince Palestinian organization Hamas to sit for peace talks with Israel, well-placed sources told the Hürriyet Daily News over the weekend.

Erdoğan’s answer to the U.S. senators, according to the same sources, was that Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, was “encouraged” to take part in the peace talks and that “Turkey would do its best” to convince the organization.

The sources were speaking on condition of anonymity, but according to what the HDN has learned, the Israeli-Palestinian issue came up during the visit of U.S. Senators John McCain, Joseph Lieberman and Lindsey Graham to the Turkish PM as follows: When Turkey’s possible contribution to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian talks was asked about, Erdoğan told the senators that it was practically impossible to have peace without Hamas sitting at the negotiation table. The senators then told Erdoğan that Turkey has a rising prestige on the Arab street and perhaps is the only actor that can convince Hamas to recognize the existence of Israel and to accept the result of peace negotiations. In answer to that, Erdoğan said that if Hamas was “encouraged” to have a place at the table, then Turkey could do its best to convince the organization to join the peace talks.

Erdoğan also told the senators he was planning to visit Egypt soon and said his visit could be extended to Palestine; implying the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

Senator McCain told journalists after the Friday meeting with Erdoğan that they discussed “Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, developments in Libya and Syria, as well as Turkish-U.S. relations.”

Senator Graham was more open to say that he “hoped Turkey could play a role in a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute,” adding that Erdoğan was “the most impressive spokesperson in the region.”

The HDN learned from diplomatic sources that there was a plan to visit Egypt on July 21 with a contingency plan to drive to Gaza through the Rafah border gate, but Erdoğan himself had put a hold on that visit for now. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, on the other hand, flew to Egypt - on his way to Libya - on Saturday to have talks there on the Israeli-Palestinian situation. Davutoğlu had separate talks with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Masha, who paid a visit to Turkey after the June 12 elections.

The main reason for Erdoğan’s postponement of the visit was the uncertainties over the flotilla crisis, in which Israeli soldiers killed nine Turks on board the Mavi Marmara ship carrying aid to Gaza under an Israeli blockade last year.

Erdoğan, according to sources, told the senators that Turkey’s demands from Israel about an apology, compensation for the losses and lifting of the blockade on Gaza still remain to be fulfilled. The Mavi Marmara, under the control of the Turkey-origin religious-based humanitarian aid organization İHH, was excluded from a second flotilla this year, reportedly after indirect recommendations from Turkish government officials. That move decreased tensions a bit and then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a letter to Erdoğan, congratulating his victory in the June 12 elections.

According to one source, diplomats have been working like linguists to find a word that “would sound like an open apology in Turkish,” but “not that so in Hebrew,” in order to overcome the crisis and ensure Turkey’s active contribution to bring Hamas to the peace table.

Israel tries to strike deal with Europe, US
6/30/11
State hopes to restart talks while securing European objections to Palestinian statehood bid
Government sources on Wednesday confirmed that Israeli and American officials are continuing their efforts to jump-start negotiations with the Palestinians,
while Jerusalem is hoping to secure France and Britain's objection at a United Nations vote on the declaration of a Palestinian state.

Germany and Italy have already announced that they will object to a unilateral declaration of statehood, while France and Britain are eager to push Israel and the Palestinians back to the negotiations table.

Jerusalem officials stressed that "in order to secure a plan that will satisfy everyone, Israel and the United States must reach mutual understandings and present a joint plan that (Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu can adopt and the Europeans can approve."

American officials, headed by Dennis Ross, visited Israel recently and met with the prime minister's envoy Attorney Yitzhak Molcho. The Quartet representatives are planning to convene a summit on July 11 with the aim of formulating a plan that will revive the deadlocked talks.

"As of now, the Americans are not willing to compromise or withdraw from the position presented by President Barack Obama during his speech last month," said a governmental source in Jerusalem.

Europe, on its part, has been pushing for an international initiative, but the Americans are not in a hurry to adopt the plan. Only two weeks ago, Washington rejected a French initiative to convene a peace summit in Paris.

Meanwhile, Israel officials are pessimistic about the prospect of renewing negotiations and continue to follow the development in the Palestinians Authority.

Earlier this week, Hamas admitted that the reconciliation efforts with Fatah have ran aground, but this is not enough to encourage Jerusalem and Israeli officials are cautious to declare that a Palestinian government sans Hamas will pave the way to resume talks. "It is not a clear-cut factor," said a government official.

Arab League finalizing PA statehood application for UN

August  4, 2011
Representatives of the Arab League were scheduled to meet in Doha, Qatar on Wednesday night to lay the final touches on the Palestinian Authority’s application to the UN for recognition of a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines.

The meeting comes as the PA leadership in Ramallah continues to face pressure from the US and EU to abandon its statehood plan and return to the negotiating table with Israel.

The meeting in Doha was being attended by several Arab legal experts who were invited by the PA to help in the wording of the application to the UN in September.
Chief PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat and Arab League Secretary- General Nabil Elaraby, who is considered an expert on international law, are also participating in the discussions.

When the application is completed, it will be handed over to the UN secretarygeneral so he could bring it before the General Assembly in September, a PA official said.
Representatives of Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman, in addition to the PA, were taking part in the discussions on the statehood bid, the official said.

Dahlan helped poison Yasser Arafat

CJ NOTE
 -  Arafat died of AIDS

August 8, 2011  PA commission of inquiry
Ousted Fatah official asked a security officer to burn former Palestinian leader’s medicine bottle, report claims.
A Palestinian commission of inquiry has concluded that ousted Fatah Central Committee member Muhammad Dahlan was involved in the “poisoning” of former Palestinian Authority chairman Yasser Arafat.
The commission’s report was published on Sunday by a number of Arab news websites, including al-Jazeera.

According to the 118-page report, which was prepared by top Fatah officials Azzam al- Ahmed, Tayeb Abdel Rahim, Othman Abu Gharbiyyeh and Nabil Sha’ath, the deposed Fatah official was involved in sending poisoned medicine to Arafat before the latter’s death.
If true, this would be the first time the Palestinian leadership accuses a Palestinian of being behind the “assassination” of Arafat.

Until now the PA and other Palestinians had held Israel fully responsible for the mysterious death of Arafat of an unknown disease in November 2004.
PA officials in Ramallah would neither confirm nor deny the report.
However, The Jerusalem Post was told that a senior aide to Abbas had leaked the report to al-Jazeera.

The commission of inquiry was set up to look into allegations that Dahlan had plotted to stage a coup against PA President Mahmoud Abbas.
At the request of Abbas, the Fatah Central Committee has expelled Dahlan.

Dahlan, who has denied the charges, returned to Ramallah late last month to appeal against the decision to expel him from Fatah.
A few days after he arrived in Ramallah, PA security forces raided his villa, detained his bodyguards and confiscated their weapons and vehicles.

Dahlan was nevertheless permitted to leave to Jordan without being harassed. But a number of his top aides have since been arrested by various branches of the PA security forces in the West Bank.

Dahlan’s associates maintain that the dispute with Abbas erupted only after the former demanded an inquiry into the fate of $1.3 billion that was deposited in the account of the Palestinian Investment Fund.

They claim that most of the money has gone missing ever since Abbas succeeded Arafat in January 2005.

According to Dahlan’s supporters, Abbas also holds a grudge against him because he had been bad-mouthing the PA president’s wealthy sons.

The report, which also appeared on other Arab media web sites, claims that while Arafat was hospitalized at a French military hospital, Dahlan approached a senior PA security officer and asked him to burn the bottles of medicine that Arafat had been using.

The report also claims that a number of Arafat’s associates had supported this allegation during questioning.

The Fatah report goes on to accuse Dahlan of standing behind a string of assassinations of senior Palestinian officials, including Hisham Mekki, chairman of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation and top Fatah operatives Kamal Midhat and Hussein Abu Ajweh.

The commission said that Dahlan had also been questioned about his personal fortune and bank accounts under his name in Switzerland.

The commission’s report also accused Dahlan of conspiring to recruit civil servants and security officers to his camp and planting espionage devices in a number of government and security installations.
Dahlan was also accused of plotting to stage a “military coup” in the West Bank against Abbas and purchasing weapons from Israeli-Arab arms dealers.

In response to the publication of the report, Arafat’s relatives in the Gaza Strip issued a statement in which they strongly condemned the charges against Dahlan.
The statement also cautioned the media against publishing lies related to the death of Arafat and said that such reports were unprofessional and immoral and were designed to harm Arafat’s image and reputation.

Samir Mashharawi, a top Fatah operative from the Gaza Strip and longtime friend of Dahlan, said on Sunday that the dispute between Dahlan and Abbas was “personal.”
Mashharawi said he personally asked Abbas about the dispute and the PA president admitted to him that this was the case.

Mashharawi quoted Abbas as saying: “Your friend [Dahlan] has a long tongue and has been bad-mouthing me and my sons. He [Dahlan] has been saying that I handed the Gaza Strip over to Hamas and that I have neglected the Gaza Strip in the past four years.”

The Fatah leader said Abbas had initiated the fight with Dahlan to distract attention from his failed policies. “Abbas wants to run away from five years of failure in running the Palestinian Authority and the political portfolio,” he charged.

Mashharawi claimed that the raid on Dahlan’s villa in Ramallah was aimed at liquidating the latter.
“They wanted to initiate an armed clash with Dahlan’s men so that the police could open fire,” he said.
“The goal was to kill Dahlan and then announce that he was part of a conspiracy to overthrow the Palestinian president.
Fortunately, Dahlan remained very clam during the raid and did not intervene even when they searched his bedroom in a provocative manner.”

China, El Salvador to back PA's UN bid

And with this they curse themselves

August  27,  2011  Saturday
Beijing and City of El Salvador both say will back Palestinian Authority's request for UN recognition in September.
China said on Thursday that will support the Palestinian plan to seek full membership in the United Nations next month.

China's Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday that Wu Sike, its special envoy on the Middle East, told Palestinian leaders in a meeting in Ramallah that Beijing and the Chinese people have always supported the Palestinian cause.

On the Palestinians' bid for statehood, the statement said Wu expressed understanding, respect and support.
Also on Thursday, El Salvador said it will back the Palestinian Authority's bid for UN recognition of a Palestinian state within the 1967 lines

UN envoy Prosor: Israel has no chance of stopping recognition of Palestinian state

8/28/11

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor, sent a classified cable to the Foreign Ministry last week, stating that Israel stands no chance of rallying a substantial number of states to oppose a resolution at the UN General Assembly recognizing a Palestinian state in September.

Sources in the Prime Minister's Office, meanwhile, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering not participating in this year's General Assembly. Instead President Shimon Peres is likely to represent Israel.

Under the headline "Report from the frontline at the UN," Prosor - considered one of the most experienced and senior Israeli diplomats - offered a very pessimistic estimate as to Israel's ability to significantly affect the results of the vote. Even though he did not state so explicitly, Prosor implies that Israel will sustain a diplomatic defeat.

"The maximum that we can hope to gain [at the UN vote] is for a group of states who will abstain or be absent during the vote," Prosor wrote, adding that his comments are based on more than 60 meetings he held during the past few weeks with his counterparts at the UN. "Only a few countries will vote against the Palestinian initiative," he wrote.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to contact the UN secretary general on September 20 and ask for recognition of Palestine as a full member state of the UN. At the Foreign Ministry, the assessment is that in order to avoid an American veto, the Palestinians will seek a vote at the General Assembly and not at the Security Council, even though the former is less binding. The vote at the General Assembly will probably take place in October.

Foreign Ministry sources estimate that 130-140 states will vote in favor of the Palestinians. A major question mark remains over the position of the 27 member states of the European Union.

The EU's head of foreign policy, Catherine Ashton, will meet with Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman in Jerusalem today, ahead of a meeting of the EU's foreign ministers on September 3.

A senior source at the Foreign Ministry, which is busy trying to foil the Palestinian move at the UN, said that so far only five western countries have promised Israel they would vote against recognition of a Palestinian state - the U.S., Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

"Most western countries will not be willing to be in the hall and vote against a Palestinian state," the senior Foreign Ministry source said.

However, the stance of the four European countries may change in line with the wording of the resolution that the Palestinians will propose. If the text is moderate and includes the possibility of returning to the negotiating table immediately following the vote at the UN, these four states may alter their opposition and abstain.

At the Foreign Ministry they believe the EU's 27 member states will be split between a large group that will support the Palestinians and two smaller groups that will abstain and oppose the resolution.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Maliki, said over the weekend that the Palestinian Authority is close to gaining the support of 130 states which will recognize a Palestinian state. This follows the recent recognition of a Palestinian state by Honduras and El Salvador.

China also announced it will support the Palestinian resolution at the UN.

The Palestinians estimate that Guatemala and several Caribbean island-states will also announce their recognition of a Palestinian state in coming weeks. Israel is continuing its international campaign to avert support for the resolution and a number of ministers are being dispatched to Africa and Asia.

Nonetheless, it appears that Benjamin Netanyahu has given up on the effort with his decision to avoid the UN General Assembly next month. "At this time the PM does not believe that his trip to the UN will contribute to a change in the vote on the resolution for Palestinian state recognition," one of Netanyahu's advisers said.

President Peres is probably going to take Netanyahu's place. Lieberman, who will also travel to the UN, recommended to the PM that Peres address the General Assembly, so that the Israeli position which will be heard at the UN will be as conciliatory and moderate as possible.

Most senior Israeli officials believe that Israel should treat the UN vote as it did the Goldstone Report - as something unavoidable which must be condemned. A smaller group of officials, which includes foreign ministry officials, Shin Bet and IDF planning officers, believe Israel should try to influence the language of the resolution, aiming at a resumption of negotiations after the vote.

Palestinians prepare symbolic chair for UN bid

Aug. 29, 2011
The Palestinians are hoping to secure a seat at the United Nations next month. They already have the chair for it.
Palestinian activists said Monday they would take the chair on an international tour to dramatize the Palestinian Authority's quest for U.N. recognition of a Palestinian state.

The wooden chair is covered with embroidered blue upholstery featuring a Palestinian flag and the word "Palestine."
It will be shown to diplomats in countries with influence at the U.N., including Britain, Russia and Lebanon, this month's rotating Security Council president. The chair's final stop is the U.N.

Activist Waled Nazzar says the chair symbolizes the Palestinians' conviction that they deserve U.N. membership.
Israel and the United States oppose the Palestinian statehood bid, saying a state must be established through negotiations.

'At least 140 nations expected to vote for statehood bid'

9/4/11    Senior Fatah official Shaath says Ashton to return to region in coming days to inform Palestinian leadership of EU's final stance on UN bid.
At a press conference in Ramallah, Sha’ath, a former PA foreign minister, said that PA President Mahmoud Abbas would soon brief Fatah and PLO leaders on the ongoing efforts to secure the support of as many countries as possible for the statehood plan.

He said that Abbas would make it clear that the PA would seek full membership of a Palestinian state in the UN.
Sha’ath pointed out that 125 countries have so far promised to back the statehood bid at the UN. “We want Palestine to become the 194th member of the UN,” he added.
He also voiced hope that the EU countries would support the PA’s application for full membership in the UN.

EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton is scheduled to return to the region in the coming days for additional talks on the Palestinian statehood plan, Sha’ath disclosed. He said that Ashton would inform the Palestinian leadership of the EU’s final stance regarding the statehood bid.

Expressing fear that the US would foil the PA’s plan at the UN, Sha’ath said that the PA leadership was determined to go ahead with its initiative. “We won’t succumb to any pressure because our people are determined to achieve freedom and independence,” he stressed.

Sha’ath also dismissed claims that the statehood bid would affect the status of the PLO as the “sole legitimate representative of the Palestinians” and deprive the refugees of the “right of return” to their original villages inside Israel. The PLO, he said, would remain the legitimate and sole representative of our people. “Going to the UN won’t affect the status of the PLO,” he said.

French envoy fired for opposing PA statehood bid

09/05/2011
Valerie Hoffenberg learned of her dismissal only from official announcement.
Valerie Hoffenberg, France’s special envoy to the Middle East, reacted with dismay on Monday to news that she had been removed from her position the week before.

Speaking at the Conference for Regional Cooperation held in Tel Aviv, the Jewish diplomat said she was disappointed by her government’s decision to let her go for coming out against the Palestinian plan to unilaterally declare independence in September.

“I said that France’s decision was not decided yet but on a personal level I consider that asking for unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state was not a good idea,” she said.
“That despite being in favor of the creation of a state of Palestine I think the only way to do it correctly is by bilateral negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.
I was urging the Palestinians to come back and reconsider their position.”

The former American Jewish Committee member, who has held several positions in the party of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, said she learned she had been sacked only after the spokesperson for the French Foreign Ministry made the announcement to the press.

“I let everyone judge the way it was done but that’s life,” she said. “When you get into politics you have to do it for what you can achieve and what you can do and not titles or honors.”

Hoffenberg was made France’s special envoy to the Middle East by her close political ally Sarkozy in 2008. In that capacity she helped cultivate financial, educational and cultural ties between Israelis, Palestinians and neighboring countries.

Former British prime minister Tony Blair, who in recent years has been heavily involved in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, mentioned Hoffenberg by name in his speech at the conference in Tel Aviv on Monday and praised her work.

The Jewish politician said she made plans to leave her position before she was fired in order to focus on her campaign to become the first elected official to the French parliament from a newly-created district representing French expatriates in the eastern Mediterranean which includes Israel, Greece and Turkey.

Hoffenberg used the occasion to fire back at other candidates in the race to capture the 2012 French parliamentary seat who claimed she was not pro-Israel enough.

“Some people here were skeptical about what I was doing and some of the candidates wanted to categorize me as the spokesperson of the Quai D’Orsay,” she said, referring to the French Foreign Ministry. “I think they got their answers.” Despite the way her tenure as special envoy to the Middle East came to an end, Hoffenberg was reluctant to criticize her former boss and political ally Sarkozy.

“I had a phone call from the Elysee the next day and I’m very respectful and thankful to the president for his support,” she said.
Asked if she knew how Sarkozy was leaning ahead of the expected vote on Palestinian statehood at the UN in September, Hoffenberg said she did not know.
“Because I know him very well I know he won’t accept anyone to make up his decision for him,” she said

US confirms it will veto Palestinian statehood bid

George Mitchell says US probably can't stop PA from becoming non-member state at General Assembly

The US will veto a Palestinian request for state recognition if it is submitted to the UN Security Council later this month, a US official said Thursday.

PLO to seek full UN recognition

Palestinians will ask Security Council for recognition, despite expected US veto, Fatah official Mohammed Shtayyeh says.
The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) will go to the United Nations Security Council and seek full membership in the world body next week, despite the looming threat of a US veto, a Palestinian official said.

The announcement was made by Mohammed Shtayyeh, a senior member of Fatah's central committee, at a news conference in Ramallah on Tuesday. Fatah is the largest Palestinian faction in the PLO.
His announcement would seem to end months of speculation about the PLO's diplomatic strategy.

"We are going to the United Nations, we are going to the Security Council," Shtayyeh said. "We are going to seek full membership based on 1967 borders."
Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority (PA) president, will deliver a speech in Ramallah on Friday night outlining the bid.
Full recognition would allow Palestine to vote at the UN, and to join the International Criminal Court and other world bodies.

The PLO will have little trouble securing the required two-thirds majority at the General Assembly; more than 120 nations have already promised to support the bid, according to Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator.
But the White House and various other US officials have already pledged to veto the Palestinian bid, and it cannot proceed without Security Council approval.

In that case, the PLO could still pursue "non-member observer status," which would give it diplomatic standing on a par with the Vatican. But it is unclear what, if anything, would change after that upgrade. Still, some Palestinian officials have urged the PLO to avoid the US veto and go directly to the General Assembly.

Shtayyeh acknowledged that, even if the United Nations approves the bid, it will not immediately change daily life for Palestinians.
"Things on the ground are not going to be different," he said. "The difference will happen on the political level. Palestinians will join UN institutions... and the Palestinian territories will no longer be considered 'disputed lands' but occupied lands."

Shtayyeh said the PLO was undecided on how it would respond to a US veto: It could petition the General Assembly for upgraded status, or go back to the Security Council, forcing another veto.
The announcement also signals that the PLO does plan to go through with the bid, despite a last-minute diplomatic push by the US and other nations aimed at derailing it.

Shtayyeh said Abbas would submit the official paperwork after arriving in New York next week, and that the submission will deal with refugees, borders, the status of illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and other issues.
Salah Bardawil, a senior Hamas official in Gaza, criticised the UN bid, saying that Abbas has not consulted with Hamas about it.

"It's a unilateral action by Abbas, just like Oslo was unilateral," he said, referring to the 1993 Oslo Accords. "Whether they go to the Security Council or the General Assembly, it makes no difference to us."

The Israeli government did not directly comment on the PLO's announcement, but Mark Regev, a spokesman for the Israeli prime minister, reiterated the government's opposition to the bid.
"You can get a piece of paper through the United Nations, but you cannot get an independent state," he told Al Jazeera.

The US State Department issued a brief statement on Tuesday, calling the UN bid "unhelpful to the necessary process of the two sides getting back to the negotiating table," an argument it has made many times before.
The Reuters news agency reported that two US envoys, David Hale and Dennis Ross, will return to the region this week in a last-ditch effort to convince the PLO to abandon its bid. Hale and Ross visited Jerusalem and Ramallah last week on a similar mission.

Palestinian officials expect a majority of the 27-nation European Union to support their bid. But EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, who attended an Arab League meeting in Cairo on Monday night, said that the EU's official position is to support renewed negotiations instead of a UN vote.

The PA is planning a series of marches and rallies, in the West Bank and internationally, to coincide with the vote. Abbas is expected to address the General Assembly on September 23.
The bid has been sharply criticised by many Palestinians, particularly in Gaza and in the diaspora, who view it as a purely Fatah-led initiative. Legal scholars say a "yes" vote would also call into question the legitimacy of the PA itself.

Abbas has described the bid as a "last resort" brought on by the collapse of negotiations between Israel and the PLO.
Talks have been stalled for nearly a year over Israel's refusal to halt the construction of illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.

PA officials say the impasse leaves them with no choice but to turn to the UN; Abbas has offered to suspend the bid and resume talks if Israel halts settlement growth and agrees to use 1967 borders as a basis for negotiations.
Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, insists that he will only resume talks without those preconditions.

Palestinians back off UN statehood bid

September 14, 2011  debka
My opinion is - just wait - and watch.  Believe nothing.
Chief Palestinian terrorist Mahmoud Abbas UN bid for recognition as a state on Israel's land appears to be disintegrating.
We can only hope, but I will be quite astonished.

Saudi Arabia, Europe and Egypt appear against it.  Thats a shock!    Shocked

Abbas decided not to submit his application to the UN Security Council.  yeah right.    Rolling Eyes
He may drop the 1967 borders provision from the text.
Abbas will meet Tony Blair in Amman Jordan, then will announce his decision Sept 16 before flying to New York.
Israel is shut out of the decision.  Of course.  A step child - on her own land.

The Palestinian obsession   By Caroline Glick
In a nutshell, the PLO, Fatah, Palestinian Authority (PA) initiative of asking the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly to upgrade its status to that of a sovereign UN member state or a sovereign non-UN member state is an act of diplomatic aggression.

September 13, 1993, 18 years ago, the PLO signed the Declaration of Principles with Israel on the White House lawn.
Yassir Arafat was a terror chief, and so is Mahmoud Abbas.
There, the terror group committed itself to a peace process in which all disputes between Israel and the PLO including Palestinian statehood
would be settled in the framework of bilateral negotiations.

The PA was established on the basis of this accord. The territory, money, arms and international legitimacy it has been given
was due entirely to the PLO pledge to resolve the Palestinian conflict with Israel through bilateral negotiations.
The PA abandoned negotiations with Israel 2 years ago to achieve its nationalist aims outside the framework of a 'peace treaty' with Israel.

PLO chief terrorists Abbas is destroying the diplomatic edifice on which the entire concept of a peace process is based,
announcing that they have no intention of living at peace with Israel.
Palestinians have been using the UN to weaken Israel diplomatically since the early 1970s.

UN a charade
As I write, a major focus in Israel is underway, called Palestinian Unilateral Declaration of Independence, (UDI).
This is an attempt to have the United Nations declare a sovereign Palestinian state without any negotiations with Israel.
The U.S has already stated that it will not support this effort. Still, the results of this initiative promises to be a game changer.

Both Israel and the United States (supposedly) oppose an independent, unilateral declaration of such a state that completely ignores any of Israel's concerns.
The Palestinians have ALWAYS refused to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, and always will.
They refuse to denounce their terrorism. They refuse to honor any and all past treaties and agreements with Israel and the Palestinians.
Yet they do still honor all charter documents of the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, etc, all of which call for the total annihilation and removal of Israel with a Palestinian state put in its place.

The Palestinians will apply for full United Nations membership at the Security Council.
Nabil Shaath said this would change the ground rules of the conflict, and Arab uprisings should make them reconsider.
Going to the Security Council instead of to the General Assembly, where there is no veto and where a pro-Palestinian majority is virtually guaranteed, has been considered a riskier and more confrontational approach because it invites an American veto.

China seeks to restore position in mideast
China, which expended much effort to bolster its economic and commercial ties with Middle Eastern countries before the Arab Spring, has lost political clout after the popular uprisings.
Now it is seeking to restore its position and compensate for its losses. China is affected by the Arab Spring for two major reasons.

First, China has improved its economic and commercial ties with the Arab Spring nations, including Libya. China’s involvement in the construction sector in that country is larger than that of Turkey; the number of Chinese workers in the construction sector in Libya is 32,000. Beijing has 50 projects held by 30 corporations in the amount of $18.8 billion in the country.
It is also no secret that China attempted to sell arms to Gaddafi. Syria is another example.  MORE

Second, the Arab Spring holds some repercussions for China; the popular uprisings in the Middle East triggered a discussion over the probable impacts of these events on China, where the peasant rebellions played key role in the dissolution and disappearance of the dynasties.  MORE

Accounts of the big diplomatic showdown facing the United Nations when the Palestinian bid for statehood is filed Friday, Sept. 23 have been blown up and overdramatized.
The UN will be making no decisions this week and Barack Obama will not be called on as yet to veto the Palestinian application.
Therefore the dispute is premature.

Palestinians submit UN statehood bid

9/23/11  UNITED NATIONS (AP)
Defying U.S. and Israeli opposition, Palestinians asked the United Nations on Friday to accept them as a member state, sidestepping nearly two decades of failed negotiations in the hope this dramatic move on the world stage would reenergize their quest for an independent homeland.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was greeted by sustained applause and appreciative whistles as he approached the dais in the General Assembly hall to deliver a speech outlining his people's hopes and dreams of becoming a full member of the United Nations. Some members of the Israeli delegation, including Foreign Minister Avigdor Liebermann, left the hall as Abbas approached the podium.

Negotiations with Israel "will be meaningless" as long as it continues building on lands the Palestinians claim f
or that state, he declared, warning that his government could collapse if the construction persists.

"This policy is responsible for the continued failure of the successive international attempts to salvage the peace process," said Abbas, who has refused to negotiate until the construction stops. "This settlement policy threatens to also undermine the structure of the Palestinian National Authority and even end its existence."

To another round of applause, he held up a copy of the formal membership application and said he had asked U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon to expedite deliberation of his request to have the United Nations recognize a Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem.

To be sure, Abbas' appeal to the U.N. to recognize an independent Palestine would not deliver any immediate changes on the ground: Israel would remain an occupying force in the West Bank and east Jerusalem and continue to severely restrict access to Gaza, ruled by Palestinian Hamas militants.
Beyond that, Security Council action on the membership request could take weeks or months.

The strategy also put the Palestinians in direct confrontation with the U.S., which has threatened to veto their membership bid in the Council, reasoning, like Israel, that statehood can only be achieved through direct negotiations between the parties to end the long and bloody conflict.

Also hanging heavy in the air was the threat of renewed violence over frustrated Palestinian aspirations, in spite of Abbas' vow — perceived by Israeli security officials as genuine — to prevent Palestinian violence. The death on Friday of 35-year-old Issam Badram, in gunfire that erupted after rampaging Jewish settlers destroyed trees in a Palestinian grove, was the type of incident that both Palestinians and Israelis had feared would spark widespread violence.

Yet by seeking approval at a world forum overwhelmingly sympathetic to their quest, Palestinians hope to make it harder for Israel to resist already heavy global pressure to negotiate the borders of a future Palestine based on lines Israel held before capturing the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza in 1967.

In recent weeks, international mediators have been furiously trying to piece together a formula that would let the Palestinians abandon their plan to ask the Security Council for full U.N. membership, and instead make do with asking a sympathetic General Assembly to elevate their status from permanent observer to nonmember observer state. The other part of that formula would include the resumption of negotiations in short order.

The U.S. and Israel have been pressuring Council members to either vote against the plan or abstain when it comes up for a vote. The vote would require the support of nine of the Council's 15 members to pass, but even if the Palestinians could line up that backing, a U.S. veto is assured.

The resumption of talks seems an elusive goal, with both sides digging in to positions that have tripped up negotiations for years. Israel insists that negotiations go ahead without any preconditions. But Palestinians say they will not return to the bargaining table without assurances that Israel would halt settlement building and drop its opposition to basing negotiations on the borders it held before capturing the West Bank, east Jerusalem and the Gaza in 1967.

Israel has warned that the Palestinian appeal to the U.N. will have a disastrous effect on negotiations, which have been the cornerstone of international Mideast policy for the past two decades. Netanyahu, who is to address the General Assembly later Friday, shortly after Abbas makes his own address, opposes negotiations based on 1967 lines, saying a return to those frontiers would expose Israel's heartland to rocket fire from the West Bank.

He also fears that if that principle becomes the baseline for negotiations, then Palestinians won't settle for anything less, despite previous understandings between the Palestinians and previous Israeli governments to swap land where settlement blocs stand for Israeli territory.

Talks for all intents and purposes broke down nearly three years ago after Israel went to war in the Gaza Strip and prepared to hold national elections that ultimately propelled Netanyahu to power for a second time. A last round was launched a year ago, with the ambitious aim of producing a framework accord for a peace deal, but broke down just three weeks later after an Israeli settlement construction slowdown expired.

Quartet envoy Tony Blair cautioned that the move at the U.N. must be followed by negotiations.
"You can pass whatever resolution you like at the United Nations, or at the Security Council, and it doesn't actually deliver you a state," Blair told BBC Radio. "And if you don't have a negotiation, whatever you do at the U.N. is going to be deeply confrontational."
The U.N. recognition bid has won Abbas broad popular support at home, but it is opposed by his main political rival, the Islamic militant Hamas movement that violently wrested control of Gaza in 2007.

Gaza's Hamas prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, accused Abbas on Friday of relinquishing Palestinian rights by seeking recognition for a state in the pre-1967 borders. Hamas' founding charter calls for the destruction of Israel and a state in all of the territory between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River, though some Hamas officials have suggested they would support a peace deal based on the 1967 lines.

"The Palestinian people do not beg the world for a state, and the state can't be created through decisions and initiatives," Haniyeh said. "States liberate their land first and then the political body can be established."

Palestine has 9 votes in Security Council

October   12,  2011    BETHLEHEM  Arab news
Fatah central committee member Nabil Shaath said Monday that nine countries in the Security Council were committed to supporting Palestine's bid for membership in the UN.

Shaath told Ma'an "the nine states that have confirmed voting to us, and we do not question their stance, are the following: Gabon, Bosnia, Brazil, India, Lebanon, Nigeria, South Africa, China and Russia."
Six Security Council members -- Brazil, China, India, Lebanon, Russia and South Africa -- have publicly indicated their backing for the Palestinian bid.

"We should not doubt our allies and we should help these countries in facing US and Israeli pressure and to reinforce the stance of these states through constant meetings and to get assistance from the Arab countries who could support these states," Shaath said.

President Mahmoud Abbas last month submitted a formal application to the UN Security Council for recognition of statehood, ignoring a US threat to veto the measure if it is put to vote.
The UN membership request, which Abbas formally presented to UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon on Sept. 23, is being studied by the 15-member Security Council, which is expected to vote on it in the coming weeks.

The Security Council has a review period of 35 days for membership application.
Responding to the Quartet's call on Sunday to invite Palestinians and Israelis to meet, Shaath said that the PLO would not return to negotiations without a halt in settlement activity.
The Quartet has damaged its own credibility in light of a current polarization whereby the US consistently defends Israel, he added.

The Quartet -- the European Union, Russia, US and UN -- proposed on Sept. 23 a return to talks within 30 days, proposals on substantive issues in three months and a peace deal by the end of 2012.
The proposal did not insist on a halt to settlement building in the occupied West Bank, which Palestinian officials say is necessary for the viability of a Palestinian state.

Abbas responded to the most recent Quartet invitation by saying: "We are at any moment willing to return to the negotiating table if Israel is of the same mind."
On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told EU policy chief Catherine Ashton that he was "happy to meet Mahmoud Abbas at any time," his office said in a statement.

Palestinians press U.N. for statehood vote
U.S. prepared to use veto if Security Council passes resolution

October   29,  2011
The Palestinian drive for United Nations membership may be resolved in the upcoming week, say diplomatic sources.
The United States has promised to veto the application, which has been under review in the Security Council for over a month. But Washington hopes to avoid casting such a stop sign.

The State Department is counting on the Palestinian Authority move receiving less than the required nine votes for Security Council approval, making a U.S. veto unnecessary.
Diplomats say the unofficial head counts put the yes votes between eight and nine.
A closed series of consultations is scheduled to consider the issue during the first week of November.

Washington will press for more time to consider the application, but the Palestinians are under pressure at home to move the issue to a vote.
Last week, the confrontation between the Palestinians, the U.S. and Israel rose to the surface during a brief Security Council meeting on the regional situation in the Middle East.

Unesco, the United Nations' cultural agency, has decided to give the Palestinians full membership of the body, in a vote that will boost their bid for recognition as a state at the UN

Huge cheers went up in Unesco after delegates voted to approve the membership Monday. One shouted "Long Live Palestine!" in French.
Israel said that the vote will harm prospects for the resumption of Middle East peace talks.

"This is a unilateral Palestinian manoeuver which will bring no change on the ground but further removes the possibility for a peace agreement," Israel's Foreign Ministry said in a statement. "This decision will not turn the Palestinian Authority into an actual state yet places unnecessary burdens on the route to renewing negotiations."

The global Palestinian population reached 11.22 million at the end of 2011, with more than half living outside the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The survey by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics estimated some 1.6 million Palestinians live in the Gaza Strip and about 2.6 million in the occupied West Bank, including east Jerusalem.

Another 1.37 million reside inside Israel and are the remainder or descendants of Palestinians who did not flee or were not driven out during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war accompanying the foundation of the Jewish state.
Some 4.99 million Palestinians live in Arab countries and around 636,000 are elsewhere, the survey said.

Abbas primes West Bank for "Palestinian Resistance" (TERRORISM, Third Intifada)

debkafile's military sources in Washington and Jerusalem report that in both capitals, the Palestinian leader's action is seen as paving the way for radical changes in West Bank security. This fragile edifice was kept stable for some years thanks to joint US-Israeli-Palestinian efforts to back up peaceful relations between the Palestinians and Israel after the bloody years of the "Al Aqsa Intifada" terror.

Congress frees $40 million in aid to Palestinians   December  29,  2011    WASHINGTON
Lawmakers have freed up a little more than 20 percent of $187 million in U.S. assistance to the Palestinians that had been frozen over the Palestinian bid for U.N. membership.
Members of Congress have made available $40 million in economic and humanitarian funding for the Palestinians, the State Department said Wednesday. The money is administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development and "has been vital to establishing and strengthening the foundations necessary for a future Palestinian state," the department said.

The Obama administration had been urging lawmakers, with Israel's backing, to release the money as it contributes to Palestinian stability and Israeli security. "It is in the interest of the Palestinians, Israel and the United States, to ensure these efforts continue," State Department spokesman Mark Toner said. "They help to build a more democratic, stable, and secure region."

The administration is pressing Congress to release the remaining $147 million that comes from the last budget cycle in which aid to the Palestinians was to total 545.7 million. New funding for the Palestinians will be subject to additional scrutiny and can be blocked if they win full admission to the United Nations before a peace deal with Israel is agreed.
The administration has asked Congress for $513.4 million in aid for the Palestinians in fiscal year 2012.

EU to PA Arabs: We'll Help You 'Grab Land' from Israel
January 12, 2012  The EU plans a "land grab" in Judea and Samaria, seeking to gain PA control of Area C, in violation of the Oslo Accords
.
The battle for control of Judea and Samaria – and specifically Area C, which, according to the Oslo Accords, is under Israeli military and political control – may come down to a “horse race,” if the European Union decides to act on a policy paper that was published by Hebrew daily Yediot Achronot Thursday. According to the document, "Area C and Palestinian state building," the EU plans to encourage, and fund, Arab building and development in Area C, without bothering to seek Israeli approval for projects, and in violation of laws regarding zoning, security, and the environment.

Under the Oslo Accords, Judea and Samaria is divided into three areas:
 Area A, which is fully administered by the PA, and which Israelis are banned from even entering – both by Israel and the PA;
Area B, which is formally under Israeli security control, but is under PA control for all other purposes; and
Area C, consisting for the most part of the “settlement blocs,” such as Gush Etzion, Ma'aleh Adumim, and the Jewish towns in Samaria in the vicinity of Ariel.

Some 90% of Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria live in Area C, while the PA Arab population of the area is barely 6%.
Nevertheless, the EU document makes it clear the Europeans intends to ensure a future Arab state in Judea and Samaria does not “lose” Area C, in order to ensure territorial contiguity between PA-controlled areas. The best way to do that, the document says, is to create “facts on the ground” - projects by and for PA Arabs, building more homes and communities for them, expanding the territories occupied by Arab towns, and attracting more PA Arabs to live in these new neighborhoods.

Israel sees U.N. majority for Palestine status upgrade
8/5/12  JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The Palestinians' bid to upgrade their status at the United Nations would find majority support there but would not bring them closer to statehood and peace with Israel, Israel's U.N. envoy said on Sunday.
Citing stalled peacemaking and Israeli settlement-building on occupied West Bank land where they seek sovereign independence, the Palestinians said on Saturday they would renew a bid to win U.N. recognition as a state.
Ron Prosor, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, accused the Palestinians of trying to recapture international attention that has shifted to crises in Iran, Egypt and Syria.
"There is an attempt (by the Palestinians) to make unilateral moves in order to internationalize the conflict," Prosor told Israel Radio in a telephone interview.

Israel has little room for illusions.

It will act  as few other countries on earth are. It will act because it cannot afford to be Poland, Czechoslovakia or Tibet - sacrificed in the great game of nations. Palestinians to Renew UN Bid for Statehood
Nov. 2012
Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas will once again seek recognition for a Palestinian state at the United Nations.
Though a similar bid last year before the U.N. Security Council failed, most believe it will succeed in the General Assembly where the P.A. can count on broad support from Arab and Islamic member nations.
Last week, President Obama reportedly called Abbas to try to convince him not to go to the General Assembly, but the P.A. leader said he intends to pursue it, confident he'll succeed.
Abbas will make his appeal later this month, on Nov. 29.
Israel said if the United Nations does upgrade Palestinian status, that would threaten existing agreements.
According to a document from Israel's Foreign Ministry, the Jewish state will "reconsider and nullify" its 1990 peace agreement with the Palestinians.
It also warned of "grave consequences" and a "unilateral Israeli response."
Israel and the United States maintain that the Palestinians can gain independence only through direct negotiations.

If U.N. gives statehood status to the Palestinians, they will be able to take Israel to the International Criminal Court.

Neither will permit Israel to defend itself.

France to back Palestinian U.N. status
France said on Tuesday it would vote in favour of Palestinian non-member status at the United Nations, boosting Palestinian efforts to secure greater international recognition.
Frustrated that their bid for full U.N. membership last year was thwarted by U.S. opposition in the U.N. Security Council, Palestinians have launched a watered-down bid for recognition as a non-member state, similar to the status the Vatican enjoys.

The proposal, which is due to be put to the vote in the General Assembly at the end of the week, would implicitly recognize Palestinian statehood. It could also grant access to bodies such as the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where the Palestinians could file complaints against Israel.
"This Thursday or Friday, when the question is asked, France will vote yes," Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius announced in the French National Assembly, the lower house of parliament.

Abbas' bid seems certain to win approval in any vote in the 193-nation assembly. The United States say Palestinian statehood must be achieved by negotiation and has called on Abbas to return to peace talks that collapsed in 2010 over Israeli settlement construction in the occupied West Bank.
"It is only with negotiations between the two sides that we demand immediately without any preconditions that a Palestinian state can become a reality," Fabius said.

France, a member of the U.N. Security Council, had under former President Nicolas Sarkozy promised to support Abbas if he opted for the upgrade option and broke from its closest allies last year voting in favour of giving the Palestinians full membership of the U.N.'s cultural agency UNESCO.

Palestinians certain to win recognition as a state
UNITED NATIONS — The Palestinians are certain to win U.N. recognition as a state Thursday in a General Assembly vote that Israel and the United States warn could delay hopes of achieving an independent Palestinian homeland through peace talks with Israel.
The United States, Israel's closest ally, mounted an aggressive campaign to head off the General Assembly vote, which the Palestinians view as a historic step in their quest for global recognition.

With most of the 193 General Assembly member states sympathetic to the Palestinians, the vote is certain to succeed. Several key countries, including France, have recently announced they would support the move to elevate the Palestinians from the status of U.N. observer to nonmember observer state. However, a country's vote in favor of the status change does not automatically imply its individual recognition of a Palestine state, something that must be done bilaterally.

Vatican Welcomes Iran
11/25/12  Hizbullah's officials, the Shiite terrorist group based in Lebanon, were hosted in Rome by the Vatican during the recent ceremony for the election of six new cardinals. Among the new cardinals is the Lebanese Patriarch, Bechara Boutros Rai.

As head of Lebanon’s Catholic Church, Rai recently sent his envoy, Father Abdo Abou Kassem, to Teheran to attend a conference in support of the Palestinian Arab Intifada and of a “Zionist-free middle east”. The conference was attended also by Hizbullah ideologue, Mohammad Raad, and by the Hamas’ leader Khaled Meshaal.

Cardinal Rai recently said in Paris that he supports Hizbullah's war against Israel: "Only when the international community exerts pressure on Israel to vacate the occupied Lebanese territory and Israel allows Palestinians in Lebanon to return to their homes, can Hizbullah be asked to hand over its arms because they will no longer be needed". It is not clear from the Cardinal's remarks to which Lebanese territory he was referring, since Israel, in compliance with the UN, had withdrawn from its Lebanon buffer zone years earlier. Rai said his statements reflected the policy of the Vatican.

Israel, Palestinians harden positions as settlement showdown shows no sign of easing
Dec 2, 2012
JERUSALEM - Palestinians and Israelis hardened their positions Wednesday over a contentious new settlement push around Jerusalem, with Israel going full throttle on plans to develop the area and the Palestinians trying to block it through an appeal to the U.N. Security Council.

The settlement push — Israel's retaliation for the Palestinians' success in winning U.N. recognition of a de facto state — has touched off an escalating international showdown. Palestinians claim the construction would deal a death blow to Mideast peace hopes. Even Israel's staunchest allies have been outraged by the move, feeding speculation they might squeeze Israel more than usual to back down on its construction plans.

The U.N. move came last week, with the General Assembly recognizing a Palestinian state in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip — territories captured by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war. Israel, which rejects a return to its 1967 lines, says borders with a future Palestine should be resolved through negotiations.

Although the Israelis say construction could be years away, the settlement plans have sent a message that within these U.N.-recognized borders, Israel remains in firm control. The plans include 3,000 new settler homes in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, and intentions to press ahead with two other projects that would drive a wedge between east Jerusalem, the Palestinians' desired capital, and its West Bank hinterland.

Emboldened Hamas leader to visit Gaza for first time in 45 years
Dec 6, 2012

Hamas's exiled leader will step onto Palestinian land for the first time in 45 years on Friday for a "victory rally" in the Gaza Strip, displaying his newfound confidence after last month's conflict with Israel.
The Islamist group's leader, Khaled Meshaal, who has not visited the Palestinian Territories since leaving the West Bank at age 11, emerged emboldened from the eight day conflict which ended in a truce he negotiated under Egypt's auspices. He has since spoken of reaching out to other Palestinian factions.

"There is a new mood that allows us to achieve reconciliation," Meshaal told Reuters in an interview last Friday from Qatar, where he has set up home since leaving Syria earlier this year.
He will stay for a little more than 48 hours in the coastal enclave, which Hamas has ruled since a 2007 war with Fatah that rules the West Bank.

Palestinian Authority to change name to 'State of Palestine'
1/6/13  RAMALLAH, West Bank — The Palestinian president has ordered his government to officially change the name of the Palestinian Authority to "State of Palestine."
The move follows the November decision by the United Nations to upgrade the Palestinians' status to that of a "non-member observer state."

President Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday that all official Palestinian stamps, stationery and documents will now bear the new name.
A statement from his office said the move was aimed at enhancing Palestinian "sovereignty on the ground" and was a step on the way to "real independence." Israel still controls most of the West Bank.

Israel objected to the Palestinian statehood bid at the U.N., calling it a unilateral step aimed at bypassing direct peace negotiations. Abbas denied that.

What’s in a name?  For 'State of Palestine,' not much

State of Palestine name change shows limitations.
After making transition from Palestinian Authority to Palestinian State, Mahmoud Abbas refrains from issuing new passports fearing Israeli reaction.
President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) wants official documents to carry a new emblem: State of Palestine.
But scrapping the old Palestinian Authority logo is as far as Abbas is willing to go in provoking Israel.

Abbas urged journalists to refer to a state of Palestine, instead of the Palestinian Authority.
Palestinian diplomatic missions around the world have been told to use the new names, including those in countries that did not vote 'yes' at the General Assembly.

Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras, have adopted 'state.'  Others, like Norway, Sweden and Spain, stick to PA even though they supported UN recognition.
Israel dismissed the name change as pointless.

Saudis will give $100 million to Palestinians
1/16/13  RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia will give the Palestinian government in the Israeli-occupied West Bank $100 million to help alleviate a worsening budget crisis, the Palestinian president's office said .
President Mahmoud Abbas has struggled to convince Arab countries to deliver a $100 million monthly "safety net" they promised when he secured de facto U.N. recognition of a Palestinian state in November, prompting Israeli sanctions.

Abbas thanked Saudi Arabia, a longtime benefactor to his government, for the funds, which will be transferred imminently.
"The state's budget is facing a large deficit as a result of the docking of Palestinian money by the Israeli government as a punitive step after the U.N. recognition of Palestine as an observer state," Abbas said in a statement.

Twisted Evil    Obama to Divide Jerusalem
Jan 29, 2013
Aaron Klein
Barack Hussein Obama secretly pledged to the Palestinians he will press Israel into a new round of so-called land-for-peace negotiations aimed at creating a Palestinian state in
the West Bank, Gaza and eastern Jerusalem.

Obama wants to divide Jerusalem.
That formula, pushed by Bill Clinton during the Camp David talks in 2000, called for Jewish areas of Jerusalem to remain Israeli while the Palestinians will get sovereignty over neighborhoods that are largely Arab.

Palestinians are building illegally in Jewish-owned areas of Jerusalem, changing facts on the ground and resulting in Arab majorities on certain neighborhoods.
Obama blames Netanyahu as the main party to blame for the collapse of Mideast peace talks.  The truth is, the Palestinians walked out.

Kerry heads to Mideast to push Israel to suicide
April 7, 2013
There is absolutely NO reason for Israel to talk a phony peace with Palestinian terrorists who are sworn to wipe out all Jews.
SoS John Lurch Kerry is on his third trip in 2 weeks to the Middle East.
Kerry went to Istanbul first. Then to Ramallah, Israel. On Monday he will meet Israeli President Shimon Peres and on Tuesday will meet with PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

Kerry wants Ankara a role to play in the Mideast peace process thanks to its influence with Hamas.
Yeah right!  Turkey, home of Erdogan, the lunatic antichrist wanabe.  Turkey is the moral enemy of Israel just as is Hamas and all of Islam.

Devil Abbas demands two-state map
Abbas has demanded that Netanyahu present a map for a future Palestinian state before any peace talks can resume.
Abbas is insisting on using the lines that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War.
The Jews won Jerusalem in 1967 in a war Arabs started, then fled in fear.

Jerusalem wont hand Kerry list of concessions
Gaps with the Palestinians are too large and such a move would only harm Israel.  Kerry hates Israel, so that would not bother him at all.
Any gestures made by Israel before returning to negotiations with the Palestinians would weaken its position.
Abbas has demanded Jerusalem hand Washington a map showing the territorial concessions Israel was prepared to offer.
This satan Abbas WALKED OUT on talks.  His demands are irrational, unjust, and suicidal for Israel.
A 2 state is no solution!  PALESTINIANS DO NOT WANT PEACE!  LEARN IT!

Israel does not foresee breakthrough
Israel is skeptical meetings will lead to any breakthrough with John Lurch Kerry in Israel.
Israel will not meet the Palestinian demand for a map with clear borders before talks can resume.
We will agree to put borders on the table when we know what we are getting from the Palestinians.

Erdogan ties with Hamas irrelevant, Hamas are the same terrorists as Turkey!

Abbas accepts Palestinian prime minister's resignation
13 Apr 2013
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on Saturday, a Palestinian official and the Palestinian news agency said.
"Abbas agreed to accept Fayyad's resignation," the Palestinian official said. News agency Wafa said Abbas had asked Fayyad to stay on as caretaker until a new government was formed.
Sources told Reuters on Fayyad had offered his resignation to Abbas following a rift between the two men over government policy.

Google recognises Palestine on homepage
5/4/13  Google has recognised the Palestinians' upgraded UN status, placing the name "Palestine" on its search engine instead of "Palestinian Territories".
The domain name www.google.ps, Google's search engine for the territories, now brings up a homepage with "Palestine" written underneath the Google logo.
The change took effect on Wednesday, Google spokesman Nathan Tyler said in a statement.
"We're changing the name 'Palestinian Territories' to 'Palestine' across our products. We consult a number of sources and authorities when naming countries. In this case, we are following the lead of the UN ... and other international organisations," he said.

The UN General Assembly in November upgraded Palestine to the status of non-member observer state by a vote of 138 votes in favour, nine against and 41 abstentions.
Palestinian authorities have since begun to use the "State of Palestine" in diplomatic correspondence and issued official stamps for the purpose.
Israel questioned Google's decision.
"This change raises questions about the reasons behind this surprising involvement of what is basically a private internet company in international politics - and on the controversial side," said foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor.

Mosque In Palestine Raises The Nazi Flag
21 May 2013
Israeli settlers on their morning commute got quite the eyeful Monday morning when they saw a swastika-emblazoned red flag flying near a mosque in Beit Omar, a Palestinian village outside of Hebron.
Thousands of residents of Jewish settlements near Hebron and Bethlehem in Judea (the southern West Bank) drive to and from work on the road from which the flag was visible.  Residents “were astounded” to see the symbol under which millions of Jews were massacred during World War II now being prominently displayed by residents of a Palestinian town.
Arabs no longer feel the need to hide their murderous tendencies, announcing out loud that they wish to destroy us.”

COGAT are waiting for the Palestinian electricity company to come in and remove it because it is on power lines.
Beit Omar, also known as Beit Ummar, is located in a part of the West Bank known as Area B in which the Palestinian Authority runs the day-to-day civilian affairs, while the IDF is responsible for military and national security related issues.

There has been a history of Nazi sympathies among some Palestinians. Most notoriously, the Palestinian leader Haj Amin al Husseini who served as Grand Mufti of Jerusalem during the 1920s and 1930s, was an outspoken Nazi collaborator and even met with Adolf Hitler. He also recruited Muslims to serve in the SS. This famous photo with Hitler was taken in 1941.

Just last week, Columbia University Professor Joseph Massad was widely criticized for posting a column on Al Jazeera’s website in which he claimed that Zionism is anti-Semitic and that there is an “affinity between Nazis and Zionists.” Due to the outpouring of criticism, Al Jazeera removed the column form its site over the weekend. source – The Blaze

Arabs Meet To Establish Caliphate For Coming Of Mahdi (Muslim Messiah)
6/5/13
Thousands of PA Arabs participated in a mass rally in Ramallah earlier this week calling for the establishment of the Muslim Caliphate – the worldwide Islamist government that will “bring the coming of the Mahdi.” the Muslim messiah. The Caliphate is essentially a union of Muslim countries under the spiritual and political leadership of a single individual, the Caliph. It has been an Islamic concept since the days of Muhammad, when it was established by several of his disciples. The office of “official Caliph” has been disputed at times, with rival would-be Caliphs battling each other for the title. The last official Caliph was Abdülmecid II, who lost the office in the aftermath of the defeat of Ottoman Turkey in World War I. The best-known Caliph in the West was Suleiman the Great, an early Ottoman sultan who, in the 16th century, conquered most of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, even conquering parts of Europe, until he was stopped at “the Gates of Vienna.”

Israel to release 'heavyweight' Palestinian prisoners amid peace talks drive

JERUSALEM -- Israel has agreed to a long-standing Palestinian demand to release Palestinian prisoners in order to resume peace talks, but will not yield on other central issues, Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz said on Saturday.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Friday that Israel and the Palestinians had laid the groundwork to resume peace talks after an almost three-year stalemate, but he warned that the deal was not final and required more diplomacy.

"There will be some release of prisoners," Steinitz told Israel Radio. "I don't want to give numbers but there will be heavyweight prisoners who have been in jail for tens of years," he said. The release would be carried out in phases, he added.

But when it came to other sticking points, Steinitz said Israel would not give way.

Palestinians have long demanded that Israel free prisoners who have been held in Israeli jails since before 1993, the year the two sides signed the Oslo Accords - an interim deal that was intended to lead to an independent state the Palestinians seek in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinians have said their future state must have borders approximating the boundaries of those territories before Israel captured them in a 1967 Middle East War.

Israel has balked at this demand, saying such borders would be indefensible for the Jewish state. Steinitz said there had been no Israeli concession on that point and on the Palestinian demand that Israel halt all construction in its West Bank and East Jerusalem settlements.

"There is no chance that we will agree to enter any negotiations that begins with defining territorial borders or concessions by Israel, nor a construction freeze,” he said.

Wasel Abu Youssef, a senior member of the umbrella Palestine Liberation Organization, told Reuters on Friday after Kerry's announcement that "efforts will continue to secure the achievement of Palestinian demands ... Israel must recognize the 1967 borders."

Kerry said on Friday that the deal between Israel and the Palestinians was still being "formalized" and he would therefore not discuss it in detail, but that negotiators for both sides could begin talks in Washington "within the next week or so."

Jordan is Palestine
July 21, 2013
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has weathered the storm that has swept across the Middle East. But the relative calm in Amman is an illusion.
In truth, the Palestinians, the country’s largest ethnic group, have developed a profound hatred of the regime and view the Hashemites as occupiers,
intruders rather than legitimate rulers. The Palestinian National Charter considers Jordan as the indivisible homeland of the Palestinian Arab people.
This makes a regime change in Jordan likely. The MB have been trying to oust Jordan King Abdullah.  2/3 of Jordan population are Palestinian.

Palestinians in Gaza fire on Israel
July 24, 2013
Residents of Israel alarmed as Colour Red warning system fails to activate.
Two rockets slammed into Israel Wednesday morning, surprising residents who had no warning of the attack.
The Color Red incoming rocket alert siren somehow malfunctioning and did not activate.
Both missiles exploded in open areas and did no damage.  PRAISE the LORD!

Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinians in 2005 for peace.  Israel has NOT had peace, only more attacks as thanks.
As punishment for USA pressuring Israel to do that, God sent Hurricane Katrina.
If Israel is fool enough to give those devils more of her war-won God-given land, they will try to annihilate her.
I have believed for many years that if USA presses Israel to split Jerusalem, God will split USA in half violently along the Mississippi River.

1967 Lines - or 1949 lines!?!
Obamanation negotiations include 1967 Lines
July 28, 2013
It makes me so angry that Israel would be so stupid as to give more land away and release murdering terrorists, than I just hate even reporting it!

PA said talks will include 1967 lines.
Has Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu agreed to negotiations based on the 1949 armistice line!?
According to Palestinian media, Israel-PA talks set by the United States indicate talks will be based on the 1967 lines with possible territorial swaps.
Israel agreed to release murdering terrorist prisoners in advance of talks, but Bibi denies 1967 lines.

Obama plans to prevent Israel buiding homes in Judea and Samaria.
The PA openly claims all land east of the 1949 armistice line as Arab land, including Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
PA terror chief Mahmoud Abbas will never allow a single Israeli to live on Palestinian land.  He considers every inch of Israel as his.

Netanyahu is set to free all pre-Oslo prisoners
Bitter cabinet battle Sunday. It clashes with justice.
Israel should just execute those murderers.  THAT would be JUSTICE!
They always release them in some phony deal Palestinians NEVER keep, and they kill more Jews.

Israel has reluctantly agreed to release all 100-plus Palestinian and Israeli Arab killers held since before the Oslo Accords were signed in 1993.
Otherwise the damned Palestinians would not come to the talks in Washington.
The prisoners guilty of major terrorist attacks involving multiple murders.
Some may be sent into exile.  Heck, Israel did that before.  They just came back thru the tunnels into Gaza!

Netanyahu said, Over the next 9 months (Israel) will see whether there is a Palestinian partner.
Bibi you KNOW PALESTINIANS DO NOT WANT PEACE!  THEY WANT NO ISRAEL!

Palestinians long sought the prisoners release as a precondition for resuming talks. Israel feared that the prisoners would go free, then Palestinians would AGAIN walk away from the negotiating table. Well DUH!

Danny Danon (Likud) sent a letter to Likud ministers asking them to vote against the release.
Jonathan Pollard, convicted of spying on the U.S. for Israel, was arrested in 1985 and has been in jail ever since.
Netanyahu reportedly asked the U.S. to release him as part of a package deal including the resumption of talks with the PA, but was rebuffed.

MidEast talks in DC today
July 28, 2013
Israeli and Palestinian negotiators will resume peace talks begin in Washington Monday evening.
The Israeli delegation led by Tzipi Livni, terror chief Saeb Erekat will represent the Palestinians.
Major sticking points include the future of Israeli settlements on the West Bank, the status of Jerusalem and the fate of Palestinian refugees.
The issue of settlement-building halted the last direct talks in September 2010.
The SAME issues Yassir Arafat demanded and Clinton offered in 1993 - and Abbas told Arafat to REFUSE.
Sunday the Israeli cabinet approved the release of Palestinian prisoners by 13 votes to seven.
104 murderers will be released from prison.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-23486045

Can Netanyahu go all the way in peace talks? And does it matter?
The gaps are too wide.  Talks in DC will end in failure because the maximum Netanyahu can offer is far less than Palestinian terrorist Abbas will accept.
Borders are being called final status.  I call it suicide talks.

Israeli chief negotiator Tzipi Livni, Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat, and Yitzhak Molcho, Mohammed Shtayyeh
seated across from Secretary of State John Kerry

Iftar dinner, which celebrates Ramadan, at the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
How is Obama celebrating Satanic Islam going to encourage Israel to make peace (gag!) with their sworn enemies?
Obama launched another doomed bid for an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal.
Despite words of encouragement, deep skepticism about the prospects for success surrounded discussions.

Israeli chief negotiator Livni says decision to keep details of talks secret is part of creating mutual trust.  WHO ARE YOU KIDDING!?
Tzipi Livni believes that Israel does not have the option of conceding defeat on a permanent peace agreement with the Palestinians.
Livni and Erekat were joined at the dinner by Yitzhak Molcho and Muhammad Shtayyeh.
The Iftar dinner sees Muslims end their Ramadan fast.

Abbas pledges there will be NO Israelis in Palestine, not a single one.  Who thinks that is any peace partner?  Palestinians HATE Israel!
Even as talks for an Israeli-Palestinian peace began, Palestinian terror chief Mahmoud Abbas told reporters in Cairo, Egypt that no Israelis would be allowed to remain in a future Palestinian state.
Abbas demands a total freeze on Jews building homes, and he will not agree to any compromise.

When Israel gives land to Palestinians, they always use it to attack Israel.
Abbas calls East Jerusalem the capital of Palestine.
Abbas also raised the possibility of establishing a multi-national force to act as peacekeepers.

Polio Virus and Aquifer Contamination
July 31, 2013
The polio virus has been found in water in Israel.
Israel gave up Gaza, and the Hamas genocidally rocketed Sderot and Ashkelon Israel.
Israel gave up the civil administration of the Palestinian Authority, the Palestinians responded with the Intifada.

In Israel, poliovirus was isolated from sewage samples collected in Rahat, southern Israel.
Genetic sequencing and epidemiological investigations are ongoing to determine its origin.
Preliminary analyses indicate the strain is not related to the virus currently affecting the Horn of Africa.

3 types of poliovirus have been identified, each with a slightly different capseid protein.
All three are extremely virulent and produce the same disease symptoms.  PV1 the type found in Israel is the one most closely associated with paralysis.

Polio is a highly contagious virus specific to humans.  The virus usually enters the environment in the feces of someone who is infected.
In areas with poor sanitation, the virus easily spreads via contaminated water or food.
In addition, direct contact with a person infected with the virus can cause polio.

July 2013
90% of sewage from Palestinian towns in the West Bank flows into the environment untreated, contaminating the groundwater and streams.
Palestinian treatment plants are substandard.  This affects Israel as well as the West Bank, since the polluted streams flow into Israel.
The westbank is Judea and Samaria ISRAEL.  Yeshua Messiah, Jesus Christ, was born in Bethlehem, Judea.

Israel has tried to cope with the problem by building treatment plants near the Green Line separating Israel from the West Bank
and treating the contaminated water once it enters Israel.  But the facility built to treat the Hebron Stream, the most polluted of all, cant handle the volume of waste it receives.  Contaminated water reaches nearby communities, emitting a stench and attracting mosquitoes.
