Whatever you do or do not answer,
DO NOT LIE

The 2010 Census is coming!

The Census is coming!  Be afraid!  When in our lifetime have you seen TV ads telling you to send in your census form?
NEVER!  Why now?  Because the census has become TOO INTRUSIVE.  It was begun ONLY to count heads - nothing more.

Talk radio host Neal Boortz has often said he will answer ONLY ONE QUESTION, how many live in the home, and send it back.

Several people have encouraged others not to complete the 2010 U.S. census, and stated that they would not complete it.

The questions included in the survey are unconstitutional.

Professor Walter E. Williams, Ph.D
The Census Bureau estimates that the 2010 Census will cost about $14 billion, making it the costliest census in the nation's history.

The purpose of the head count is to apportion the number of seats in the House of Representatives, 2 senators from each state,
and the number of electors to the Electoral College.

The 2010 Census will consist of only 10 questions, only one of them
serves the constitutional purpose of enumeration.

The census determines the redrawing of congressional districts based on the results. Usually the director of the Census Bureau
reports to the secretary of Commerce. But not anymore. The director will report directly to Rahm Emanuel.

ACORN participates, and they are PROVEN a fraud, a bunch of criminals.  Media Matters gives the other side, NOT the truth.

ONE QUESTION, Walter Williams

Census comments from a blog

I worked for the 1980 Census.  If the form was incorrect, we called, first on the phone, then in person.  It wasnt a problem - then
.

Laughing   I think this is a way to help bail out the Post Office.

I'm being told that the fine for non-participation can be as much as $5000.00 and filing false information can be up to $500.00.
This info. was given by Meghan Clyne a DC writer. She also says that she called the help number on her form and a
Census Rep. finally conceded that the gov. was unlikely to pursue punishment if she didn't respond, saying that
it would be a "waste of time and money."

March 7 some got a notice in the mail that Census form will be here in one week.
0bama waste!!  WHY on earth waste taxpayer money doing that?

Ours was hand delivered and hung on the locked gate.  Guard dog kept them out.  Laughing

Found mine hanging on my door. Luckily it is the short form. The questions constantly refer to "as of April 1st".
Laughing   APRIL FOOLS DAY!  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Rolling Eyes   Got it. Filled it out. Sent it back. Don't want a hassle. Waiting for my fair share

Question  I got that same letter, but no follow-up census letter... But I did receive a visit at my front door. Had to kindly inform the gentlemen that I was not a 14th Amendment Citizen, but an American sovereign citizen from the Indiana Republic. He didn't like where I was going with that and said, "Oh, your one of those" then walked away. Actually made my day.
Wonder if that's the visit letter? Do you live in a fairly small community? My community has about 500 folks.  Question

Question  Question
The only thing they need to know is the # of occupants, correct?  Thanks
correct!   Exclamation

I don't know about anyone else, but we've got a large illegal population around here, and they ain't failing for this "fair share" business. They are not answering "how many people live in the house" accurately- they are more scared of INS than of trying to get their share.
who counts up the homeless? They need their fair share too.

Just think of all the money the us has spent with all the adds on radio and tv. and pre census mail!! they spent so much money they could paid all the wall street bankers there boneness for a couple of years or actutaly done something good for the country? I think most politationsdon't care about their country! I think all they think is how much they can steal from the US and to get reelected so they can steal more

We got one of those letters yesterday too. Hubby promptly posted the "Tribal Property, Do Not Enter" signs that we had been waiting to post until the land was paid off.
SUPPOSEDLY the census workers will not cross locked gates. He's closing the gates as he leaves for work. We'll see what happens.

My census forms arrived today. Hand delivered by my friendly local census person!
I put a single mark on the papers, the number of persons living at this address, and will put it in the mail box tomorrow.
We'll see how they respond to that.
Reply - They will send a census worker out to your house in person

I'm pretty sure mine is going to get lost in the mail.

And I don't answer the door if I'm not expecting someone. My dog loves to terrorize unannounced "guests" tho.

Back in 2000 I filled out the entire census form, and they STILL sent a census worker to my house!

Shocked   if they decide to come this time, I'm eating 6 cloves of garlic, drinking beer and leaving them outside on the porch. Plus if the rumored questions about "what time you go to work" etc. are on it, I'm taking photos and demanding copies of identification because they will be the first suspect should my home be burgled. It's not unreasonable considering the nature of some of the scum they are hiring from the former ACORN work release programs.   Shocked

Exclamation  Shocked  The time for civil disobedience has come.
Comply and wait for what you think is a worthier cause at your own risk.
The timing of this thuggery is blatant in terms of both the healthcare bill
AND the census, not to mention the other horrors on the agenda yet to come.   Shocked

U.S. Constitution Article 1 Section 2

Here is the text of the US Constitution Article 1 Section 2 which addresses the census

Will our grandchildren ask  ....
what was the U. S. Constitution?

The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States,
and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.

No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.

(Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.)

(The previous sentence in parentheses was modified by the 14th Amendment, section 2.)
The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the State of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five and Georgia three.

It is very clear that the only thing the Constitution calls for is "a count". That's it, nothing more

I'm guessing that the confusion is being caused by this portion...
in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.
The way I read this is that they can pass whatever law they want to accomplish the "enumeration" (count),
but nothing in there says they can change the law to accomplish anything but an "enumeration" or count.

I see no constitutional authority to ask any other question except,
How many people?

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Observe the masses then do the opposite.

I cant afford GOLD. But I do invest in BRASS & LEAD

Another post from the same Mormon forum ...
Mormonism IS NOT christian - regardless what they claim

--------------------

As far as I can tell from the Census website, there will not be a long form and short form circulated this time. I'm pretty sure that all of us will get the same form with the same 10 questions, eight or nine (depending on your perspective) more questions than is required (or authorized) by the Constitution. I say "depending on your perspective" because Question 1 asks the basic "how many" question, while Question 2 is really asking the same question with slightly different wording. To wit:

Question 1) How many people were living or staying in this house, apartment, or mobile home on April 1, 2010?

Question 2) Were there any additional people staying here April 1, 2010 that you did not include in Question 1?

Question 2 relates to making sure the enumeration is accurate, so I don't mind answering it. I've seen where others say they'll only answer #1. Doesn't really matter. Answer #1 and #2 or only #1 and you'll still get someone on your doorstep within a few weeks. Or at least that's the impression the Census Bureau attempts to leave when you read through their website. We'll see because eight questions will be left unanswered on my form.

I posted the following here a couple or three weeks ago. It's a letter that I wrote, printed, laminated and currently have tacked to my front door. I've already gotten into interesting conversations with one UPS driver and two FedEx drivers who all seemed concerned and fairly knowledgeable about the controversies surrounding the Census. Anyway, seems like there's some new nicks around this thread, so anyone is welcome to use this or use any or all ideas you might find useful from it.

If You Are A Census Worker – Please Read Before Knocking On My Door Or Ringing My Doorbell:

The Constitution of the United States of America states in part in Section 1, Article 2, Paragraph 3, the following:

“3. Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective numbers, which shall be determined by adding the whole number of free persons, including those bound to service for a term of years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three-fifths of all other persons. The actual enumeration shall be made within three years after the first meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such manner as they shall by law direct.”

With the exception of changes made to the above citation with the passage of the 14th Amendment, this section stands as the constitutional authority upon which you were hired to perform duties that have brought you to my front door today. Legally-speaking, I understand and fully support why you are here. I intend to fully cooperate with you in completing your duties to the full extent of my legal obligations as a citizen of the United States of America.

However, it has come to my attention that your superiors (The Legislative and Executive branches of the United States) have misled you about what legal obligations Americans are bound to concerning the Census. The above citation from the Constitution speaks only of “enumeration.” It is beyond the scope of this constitutional mandate for the government to engage in a demographic study to determine racial, gender or income-level makeup of any sub-division of territories, such as state, county, city, or even neighborhoods, within the borders of the United States for the purposes of apportioning constituents to a given congressional district. Your duty is to enumerate the “…whole number of free persons.” With that in mind, the following are the only questions the free people in this household will answer from your form:

Question 1) How many people were living or staying in this house, apartment, or mobile home on April 1, 2010?

   Answer: 02

Question 2) Were there any additional people staying here April 1, 2010 that you did not include in Question 1?

   Answer: No additional people.

With that, you have fulfilled your duty at this address. Whether or not we own or rent this property, or whether or not we have a telephone, and if so, what that number is, or what our last and first names or middle initials (if any) are, or what our gender(s) may or may not be, or what our ages and birth dates are, or whether or not either or both of us are of Hispanic, Latino, or Spanish origins, or what our respective race(s) may or may not be, or whether or not one or both of us might stay somewhere else for some unspecified period of time, none of these questions are pertinent to you fulfilling your duty to enumerate the number of free persons in this dwelling. Likewise, as free persons, we are under no legal obligation to volunteer information which we deem to be none of the federal government’s business under the law.

With all of the above in mind, I now invite you to knock on my door or ring my doorbell. I will not discuss anything with you except for answering the two above-referenced questions. Alternatively, you are welcome to take this sheet as a reasonable facsimile for the official form you will be asking us to fill out, and then leave this property forthwith.

Regards,

The Two Residents of 12345 Blah Blah Lane – Blah Blah, AL - 12345

Today I got my notice the census would be coming in about a week.

It was addressed to resident.

It was also written in Spanish, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean.
I guess they discriminate against the French.

It was sent by the U S Dept of Commerce in Phoenix, Arizona

I received my letter today also.  What a waste of taxpayers money.

At the bottom they tell you in multiple languages that you can contact their web site for help completing the form.

I recognize the English and Spanish but two translations are in some form of far Eastern hieroglyphics.  The next two translations do include some English letters but would have definitely required a special keyboard.  One might be similar to Chinese and the other may be Russian. Nothing looks French to me either.  lol!
