These are days of celebration all over the world, and soon we enter a new year.
The word Christmas was taken from pagan witchcraft and popularized by the evil Roman Catholic Church
which is the same as Islam at its roots. Mass is death sacrifice. Christmas means the death, departure of Christ.
Dont blame me, I didnt make any of this up! I heard it on radio and googled.
We can get too legalistic too, dont do that. But never again say Merry Christmas, it DOES NOT honor Messiah Jesus.
I will begin to say Shalom or enjoy the season or Happy Holidays, and
just smile and say 'you too' when others wish me a Merry Christmas.
YESHUA Jesus the Christ Child was born in September - not December.
A pope moved the date to the winter solstice pagan holiday.
Sheep dont lamb in December, its too cold.
SANTA - is a re-arrangement of the letters in Satan - dont honor the devil.
I dont sing 0 Christmas Tree any more, as its literally worshipping the tree.
I like referring to the birth of Yeshua, Jesus Christ, as the
NATIVITY.
That is more correct.

When did the Magi, wise men visit Jesus?
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, Magi (wise men) from the east came to Jerusalem and asked,
'Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.'
The Magi followed the star until it stopped over the place where the child was. You, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are not least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a Ruler who will be the shepherd of My people Israel.
Jesus was several months old, possibly near age 2 when the magi arrived. After they left, God warned Joseph to flee to Egypt,
because wicked King Herod was killing children age 2 and under. The Magi (probably Persian astronomers) did not visit
Jesus in Bethlehem, but in Joseph's home in Nazareth. Joseph needed those gifts to afford this trip.
The gifts were symbolic of Jesus sacrifice on the cross.
Myrrh represented His burial - embalming. Look up frankincense and myrrh in scripture.
Frankincense is a sweet savour unto the LORD in sacrifice. the magi knew this.
What is this coming up from the wilderness like columns of smoke,
Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all scented powders of the merchant? Song of Songs 3
On the 8th day, when it was time to circumcise Jesus, Joseph and Mary took him to the temple in Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.
Righteous Simeon was waiting there for the consolation of Israel (Messiah).
GOD had revealed to him that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
When the parents brought in the Child Jesus, Simeon took Him in his arms and praised God saying,
Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, for my eyes have seen your Salvation.
Then Joseph and Mary returned home to Nazareth in Galilee.

Conception and Birth of Jesus

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there.
Then after being warned by God in a dream, he left for the regions of Galilee, and came and lived in a city called Nazareth.
This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets: “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them,
Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will to men.
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another,
“Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.
When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

What is your favorite house you ever lived in?
Some people live their whole life in one house. I have lived in 16 houses in my life! During our marriage Sharon and I have moved 8 times! I think my favorite house was the first parsonage we lived in. It was made out of an old country cheese factory with a large upper living area with four bedrooms and a giant old factory basement with a wood burning furnace and a workshop. We had a chicken house out back and a big garden too. Josiah and Hannah were babies in that house.
One of my hobbies is to plan houses. I have done many plans of my dream home that I want to build some day for retirement. But the closer I get to that age I realize I can’t afford and we don’t need a big house. So now I am down to a one bedroom cabin in my planning! I can spend hours with a computer program planning that house, moving walls, changing the floor plan. It is kind of my version of a video game…while Josiah is in the basement killing Nazis and zombies I am upstairs blasting out a wall and putting in a door. That is my level of video violence. But the end result is this cute little house for us to live in. I kind of dread the job of downsizing into a little retirement home from our big house we live in now.
This kind of makes me think about what it was like for Jesus to leave heaven and come to earth. I received a Christmas card from a recently widowed retiree. The saying on the front of the card summarized it so well:
The King of heaven came to earth to seek a home within our hearts.
This prompted in my mind the thought of the seven homes that Jesus lived in on earth. We will talk a bit on Sunday morning about who Jesus was before He came to earth but for tonight let’s start with his seven homes on earth:
I. THE WOMB: Christ’s first home was inside the womb of the Virgin Mary. The angel appeared to Mary in Luke chapter 1 and we read: the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus”… “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.”
The first place that God’s Son dwelt on earth was in the safety of Mary’s womb. God chose to enter this world in the same way you and I do, through birth. There is a real pro-life message here. Mary was a teen-age girl, living in poverty, who became pregnant while engaged to a man who was not the father of the child, summoned by the government to take a long and exhausting journey…aren’t you glad that they didn’t practice abortion in those days like we do today? The Son of God was safe with Mary even though his outward circumstances were extremely difficult.
II. THE BARN: The second home that Jesus had on earth was a barn, the stable in Bethlehem. We read about it tonight. Joseph and Mary made it to Bethlehem for the tax registration at the same time the baby was due but all the lodging places were full. She wrapped him in clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Why would God the father allow his only son to be born in a barn? God knows what He is doing. It was a safe place, perhaps even a quiet place for this poor girl to give birth. The shepherds could easily find it since it was likely out in the pasture at the outer edge of town. But it was a part of the prophecy. Bible scholars tell us that there was likely only one such stable in Bethlehem. And this was the stable where lambs that were used for the sacrifice on the altar in Jerusalem were also born. Everything in Jesus’ life, no matter how difficult, had prophetic fulfillment and meaning so that we can be assured that He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
III. A RENTAL: The third home that Jesus lived in was a rental property. Most depictions of the Christmas story show the wise men at the stable along with the shepherds. But a careful reading of the text in Matthew shows us that the wise men came some time later, perhaps a year or more, and Joseph, Mary and the Child were living in a house. Matthew writes:
After the wise men had heard king Herod, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the HOUSE, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and incense and myrrh.
Joseph probably worked as a carpenter to pay the bills so that they could have their first rented apartment. But that very night the angel also visited Joseph and told him to take the child and flee to Egypt because Herod was out to kill Jesus.
So we see that Jesus lived in a womb, a barn, a rental and now they were homeless, fleeing to a foreign land for their lives.
IV. A TENT? : This is the way Matthew puts it:
When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him. So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.” Matthew 2:13-15
I would suspect that much of their sojourn in Egypt was spent in a tent out under the desert sun and moon. They were running for their lives. God had graciously provided them with the wise men’s gold to sustain them during this flight into Egypt. But like every other moment in the life of Jesus, God was fulfilling the ancient prophecies about the Messiah. No other human being has ever fulfilled these amazing prophecies like Jesus…He is the promised Savior.
V. A HOUSE IN NAZARETH: The next house was their own home. After Herod died, God appeared in a dream to Joseph and told him to return to Israel. They went back to Nazareth and stayed away from the corrupt political figures near Jerusalem.
He went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.” Matthew 2:23
Jesus spent the next thirty years of his life living in Nazareth in peaceful obscurity. It was at this time that he grew physically strong and also became so powerful with the Holy Scriptures that at age 12 he amazed the teachers in Jerusalem. This was the peaceful stage of his life, the kind of home life we like to provide for our children so that they can grow up to be strong, intelligent and spiritual. But even this phase of life fulfilled another prophecy about the Messiah, that He would be called a Nazarene. Jewish people around the world are reviewing these prophecies about Jesus and realizing that He is indeed their promised Messiah. A number of years ago I found out that I am part Jewish too which makes this even more dear to my heart in a way that I can’t describe.
VI. HOMELESS: But at age 30, Jesus left home and set out to preach the good news of the Kingdom of God. At this point he left everything and had no home to live in any more. People wanted to follow Jesus as he preached and this is what he told them about his home:
Matthew 8:19-20 Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go." 20 Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."
Jesus was homeless as an adult. He slept each night where God provided Him a place to sleep. The King of Heaven was now in the same place as the poorest beggar, homeless.
VII. OUR HEARTS: After Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead, he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. But there is one more place on earth that Jesus lives to this very day. Jesus still lives on earth today but not in a BARN, not in a RENTAL APARTMENT, not in a TENT in Egypt, not in a HOUSE in Nazareth, not HOMELESS today, Jesus dwells in the hearts of those who believe in Him.
Ephesians 3:16-17
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
God now gives people the opportunity to repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ into their hearts to dwell. When Jesus comes into our hearts he forgives all our sins and adopts us into His eternal family. Our salvation is not something we earn or deserve. Our salvation is the result of Jesus Christ living in our hearts. His presence saves us, nothing else.
The card I received from the widow puts is perfectly:
The King of heaven came to earth to seek a home within our hearts.
I don’t know what kind of home I will dwell in years from now.
I don’t know if I will ever be able to plan and build that cute little retirement home I have been working on with my computer.
But I know for certain that when I was 14 years old I invited Jesus Christ, the King of Heaven, to come into my heart and live. He heard my prayer and He has been with me every step of the way and I am confident that He will take me all the way to my home he is preparing for me in heaven which has been paid for by his holy blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary.
As you come to the Lord’s Table, won’t you ponder the words of the Christmas song:
Thou didst leave Thy throne and Thy kingly crown
When Thou camest to earth for me.
But in Bethlehem’s home was there found no room
For thy holy nativity.
And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

Did you know Jesus, or Yeshua as He was known throughout His life, celebrated Hanukkah?
During His earthly ministry, Hanukkah was known as the feast of dedication. In fact, it is still known as the feast of dedication today.
Yet, most followers of Jesus today think of Hanukkah as only a Jewish holiday – not something they necessarily should mark.
I have even heard Christians say Hanukkah is an extra-biblical festival – and not mentioned in the Bible. Next time you hear that, just point to John 10:22-23.
I say, if it was worth Yeshua's attention, it is worth mine.
Surprise! Jesus Christ was not a blond-haired, blue-eyed Gentile. Yeshua of Nazareth was raised in an observant Jewish family in a culture where the Torah was the National Constitution.
So what is Hanukkah all about?
About 175 years before the birth of Jesus, the Syrian empire ruled over the land of Israel.
The Syrian ruler, Antiochus IV, was a tyrant – a madman, a Hitler archetype. He sought to suppress all the Jewish laws. Thousands of Jews were killed.
All Jewish worship was forbidden. The scrolls were confiscated and burned. Honoring the Sabbath, circumcision and the dietary laws were prohibited under penalty of death.
Antiochus conspired to depose and later assassinate the righteous high priest, Yochanan. Antiochus' henchmen ordered 90-year-old rabbi Eliezer to eat pork as an example to his followers.
He refused and was put to death.
In a plot to undermine the strength of the Jewish family and morality, Antiochus decreed that any Jewish maiden who was to be married had to first spend the night with the local governor or commander.
The Syrians, under the command of Holofernes, laid siege to the town of Bethulia. While the town elders discussed a plan to surrender when their food supply ran out, a young and beautiful widow, Yehudit, the daughter of Yochanan the high priest, told the people to maintain faith in their God. She told them she had a plan they would have to accept on faith.
Yehudit took a large basket of cheese, bread and wine to Holofernes. She told the commander that, in exchange for mercy on her people, she would tell him how to capture the town. She explained that her people's faith in God remained strong, making the fight against them that much more difficult. However, she said, soon the supply of kosher food would be gone. When that occurred, the people would begin to eat the flesh of unclean animals thus provoking God's anger and causing the town to fall.
She agreed to stay with Holofernes, returning to Bethulia each day to find out how food supplies were holding out. She gained the trust of the commander who was eager to spend time with the beautiful widow as well as to win the siege.
After a few days, Yehudit told Holofernes that Bethulia was now out of food. He had only to wait a few more days for the Jews to begin eating the non-kosher animals. Holofernes invited her to come alone to his tent that night to celebrate. She agreed, inviting him to eat her salty goat-cheese. As he ate, he grew thirsty and Yehudit gave him the wine she had brought with her. While Yehudit pretended to eat and drink, Holofernes became drunk. Soon, he was in a deep sleep. Yehudit took Holofernes' sword and cut off his head. She and her maidservant put his head in a cloth and returned to Bethulia.

I have been sick with a bad cold this week so I stayed home and watched a lot of TV, 2 nigh5ts ago they had a program called "Globe trekker" where this guy went to Europe in Christmas last year, the main theme Saint Nik, everywehere he went, young and adult were waiting for Dec 25th and the arrival of Saint Nik, no one time was Christ mentioned, what a sad display, I think that the comercialization of Christmas has damped my desires this year of doing anything, I dont want to be part of this charade called Christmas where Christ my Savior is totally absent.
There are about 15,000 Messianic Jews in Israel, who believe in Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah.

Messianic Jews are Jewish and Israeli citizens. There are also many Arabs who believe in Yeshua.
Jews knew her Messiah, as shown in bethlehem star videos - but she rejected Him then, and as a nation, still rejects Him.

Was the Star of Bethlehem a real astronomical event?
Watch the story of the Bethlehem Star when Christ was born. Fascinating!
The wise men from Iraq were astronomers and may have been taught by the prophet Daniel.
This was not 'a star' but a conjunction of several planets which indicated a King had been born.
This 'star' was positioned in the constellation Leo / Lion which represents the tribe of Judah, Israel.
For the day of the LORD is coming, Surely it is near,

His Birth, the Magi and the Star of Bethlehem / Nativity
December 21, 2010 Please realize this is SPECULATION, but its fascinating!
Planet X will herald the return of the MESSIAH, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, just as it did the first time.
The Star of Bethlehem, Star of the Nativity heralded the first coming of Yeshua, Jesus, the Christ Child.
The Magi (wise men) form the link between the Creation, the Nativity, and the mysterious Planet X.
No one can predict when Planet X will arrive to influence Earth because no one knows the time of Christ's return.
My good friend Ed has been so fascinated with Planet X and another friend of mine also believes it has a part.

The Magi in the Bible were priests in ancient Persia (Iran), with a level of authority just a step below the royalty.
Interestingly, the Magi represent the only significant Gentile authority in the Gospels to affirm that Jesus was, in fact, the Messiah.
It could be that Matthew intended to convince the Jews of the divinity of Christ by including with the genealogy of Christ in his Gospel an account of Gentile authority that corroborated his witness.
Certainly King Herod held the Magi in high esteem (Matt. 2:1-7), enough so to execute all the newborn babes in Bethlehem upon the affirmation of the Magi that the Messiah had just been born there.
Thus, when you think of the Bethlehem Star at Christmas time, remember that it is not merely a mysterious apparition, or mere transitory astrological conjunction,
but the return of an ancient planet which appears during major turning points in the history of God's chosen people.
And do not focus solely on the wonder of the birth of the Son of God, but also look forward to His soon coming,
when the mysterious Great White Throne, Planet X, will herald His return.

The following info is of great importance to me because the LORD saved me on Christmas Eve, 1982, then December 24- 25 and1st day of Hanukkah fell on the same Day in 2005.
i had a hard time reconciling these dates until the Leading of the Holy Spirit filled in the questions in my heart.

Spectacular "Christmas Comet" Amazes Skywatchers in Chile
24 Dec 2011 A stunning comet that survived a recent brush with the sun is amazing astronomers again, this time in dazzling new photos captured just before sunrise over Chile.
The comet Lovejoy may not be the famed Star of Bethlehem, but it still provided a jaw-dropping sight for astronomer Gabriel Brammer, photographed the comet rising ahead of the sun on Dec. 22 at Paranal Observatory in Chile's high Atacama Desert.
Brammer is a support astronomer for the European Southern Observatory (ESO), which runs the Paranal facility. His time-lapse photos of comet Lovejoy show it rising ahead of the sun as the Paranal astronomers fire a laser beam, which serves as a guide star, into the sky. Our Milky Way galaxy and the moon are also visible in the images.
"On the last morning of my shift I tried to try catching it on camera before sunrise," Brammer said in a statement. "The tail of the comet was easily visible with the naked eye, and the combination of the crescent moon, comet, Milky Way and the laser guide star was nearly as impressive to the naked eye as it appears in the long-exposure photos."
