The Lord told Abram, Leave your native country and go to the land that I will show you.
I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.
I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt.
Genesis 12  New Living Translation

My Comments
GOD confirmed this covenant with Abraham's grandson Jacob (Israel).
The land of Israel belongs to the bloodline of Jacob forever, to those we today call 'Jews.'
People do not care to see, to their peril, a connection between man's sin and GOD's actions.
Time is UP.  There is NO going back.  Anyone calling themselves a prophet who says we can collectively repent is false.
There is always an open door for an individual to repent and return to the LORD and His ways.
REPENT is NOT being sorry and continuing in sin, excusing sin or blaming.  REPENT is STOP, and turn around and go the other way.

Powerful earthquake rocks Chile
Feb. 11, 2011
A powerful earthquake struck Friday off the coast of Chile, rattling a region hit by a massive temblor and tsunami a year ago, officials said.
There was no initial reports of casualties or damage, but media reports said the quake was felt in a wide area of central Chile.

The US Geological Survey and Chile's national emergency office said the quake occurred in the Pacific some 70 kilometers (45 kilometers) from the city of Concepcion.

The USGS initially reported a major 7.0 magnitude, and later revised that to 6.8, which can still cause devastation.

The quake struck at 2005 GMT near a region in central Chile that was devastated by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake and tsunami on February 27, 2010.
Last year's disaster led to more than 500 deaths and $30 billion dollars in damage, and led to an inquiry over the lack of a timely tsunami warning.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that "a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected," from this quake but that earthquakes of this size "sometimes generate local tsunamis that can be destructive along coasts" within a 100 kilometers of the epicenter.

"Authorities in the region of the epicenter should be aware of this possibility and take appropriate action," it said.
The USGS said the location of the earthquake was 395 kilometers (245 miles) southwest of Santiago.

June  5, 2011
Chile volcano, dormant for decades, spits tower of ash, government evacuates 3,500 as precaution about 575 miles south of Santiago.
The volcano ash cloud was more than 6 miles high and blew over the Andes and carpeted a popular ski resort in neighboring Argentina.
San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina airport was closed.
The eruption in the Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcanic chain, about 575 miles south of Santiago in Patagonia also prompted Chilean authorities to shut a border crossing into Argentina and evacuate 3,500 people from the surrounding area.
Local media said the smell of sulfur hung in the air and there was constant seismic activity.
The last eruption was in 1960.

Chile volcano ash cloud grounds more flights
June  11, 2011   A cloud of ash from an erupting volcano in Chile is continuing to cause travel chaos in parts of Argentina and Uruguay.
The cloud has also affected flights in the south of Brazil.
Flights from the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, and Montevideo in Uruguay, remain grounded for a second day.
Chile's Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcano range began erupting last Saturday.

Many flights from airports in southern Brazilian cities such as Porto Alegre and Florianopolis - some 2,500km (1,550 miles) from the volcano - were cancelled on Friday.
But a correspondent for the BBC's Brazilian Service says the situation is returning to normal, as winds blow the fine grey ash out over the Atlantic.

Air travel to New Zealand and Tasmania has been thrown into turmoil with a plume of volcanic ash from South America grounding more than 100 flights.
Qantas cancelled all 14 flights in and out of Tasmania on Sunday while 8 flights between Australia and Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown were cancelled on Sunday morning.
Low-cost carrier Jetstar cancelled 12 flights between Australia and New Zealand, 24 services between Tasmania and the mainland, and 30 domestic New Zealand flights.

Australia Air travel warning as volcanic ash cloud returns

June 20, 2011
Virgin Australia and Tiger Airways have begun cancelling flights as the ash cloud from a volcano in Chile returns to Australian airspace.
Virgin suspended all Adelaide and Mildura flights for tomorrow, while Tiger Airways announced it was cancelling eight flights, four between Sydney and Melbourne and four between Melbourne and Adelaide.

"The current forecast suggests the ash plume will below 20,000 feet over Adelaide and Mildura tomorrow. With this in mind we are suspending these services tomorrow," said the head of the Virgin Australia's operations, Sean Donohue.

Seismic activity triples at Chile’s Ilaima volcano – yellow alert
March 26, 2012 – Santiago de Chile – Chilean authorities maintain state of alert in the Araucania region, due to increased seismic activity at Llaima volcano, one of the most active in the country and in South America. The regional governor, Andres Molina, confirmed that a yellow alert continues to be in effect for the communities of Melipeuco, Cunco, Vilcún, Curacautín and Lonquimay, because there are clear signs of “out-gassing in the inner perimeter” of the Llaima. Molina said that on Monday will meet the emergency committee to assess the status of the volcano, then it is found that in recent weeks the number quakes have tripled within the massif, which is located in the Andes, about 600 kilometers south of this capital. In geology, a massif is a section of a planet’s crust that is demarcated by faults or flexures. The regional authority also noted that access was restricted in a radius of four kilometers around the volcano, especially in the tourist area of Conguillío Park, where last weekend, authorities evacuated over a hundred people. According to records provided by the expert technicians Fernando Gil, Volcano Observatory of the Southern Andes, one cannot rule out an eruption and although volcanic activity cannot be perceived by the inhabitants of the towns that are on yellow alert. The Llaima, more than three thousand meters in elevation, is located 76 kilometers northeast of the city of Temuco, capital of the region of La Araucania. The Llaima volcano last erupted in 2009. On March 25, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck northeast of the region at a depth of about 35 km (21 miles) and this may further acerbate the volcanic belt of this region of Chile. –Prensa Latina  (translated)

Magnitude 7.2 earthquake strikes Chile
March 26, 2012
A MAGNITUDE 7.2 earthquake struck central Chile about 250 kilometres southwest of Santiago.
Its epicenter was located near the city of Talca, about 215km south-southwest of Santiago, at a depth of nearly 30 kilometres, the preliminary report said.
Chilean authorities initially ordered people living in coastal areas between Concon and Lebu to evacuate after the quake, but later canceled the order.
Local authorities said one person was injured when they had a traffic accident during the earthquake in the Bio Bio region. Their condition was not immediately known.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no widespread tsunami threat from the earthquake, but warned that earthquakes measuring more than 7.0 magnitude could cause local tsunamis and that local authorities should be prepared.

Peru-Chile border hit by 6.2 quake, no damage seen
14 May 2012
- A strong 6.2 magnitude earthquake shook the border area straddling southern Peru and northern Chile early on Monday, but there were no reports of damage, the Andean neighbors' national emergency offices said.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck 41 miles east-northeast of Tacna in Peru, and 66 miles northeast of Arica in the far north of world No. 1 copper producer Chile.

The tremor hit at a depth of 61.1 miles, it said. The USGS had earlier reported two quakes of 5.9 magnitude had struck seconds apart, but later updated its Web site to show only one.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in Chile, said a spokeswoman for Chile's state emergency office (ONEMI).

6.2 earthquake Chile
May 18, 2012  SANTIAGO, Chile
–  A strong 6.2-magnitude earthquake has struck off Chile's southern coast, but the authorities say it wasn't felt on land and discounted the possibility of a tsunami.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake's epicenter was 336 miles (542 kilometers) west-southwest of Castro, Los Lagos. It struck Thursday evening local time off the coast of the Aysen region and at depth of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers).

Aysen Gov. Pilar Cuevas said that the quake "was not felt in Coyhaique or Puerto Aysen and the population remains calm."
The Interior Ministry Emergency Office said no damages to infrastructure were reported.
Chile's Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service said the characteristics of the quake would not generate the conditions for a tsunami off the coasts of Chile.
