Excerpted from Kjos Ministries:

Strategies used in China and other Communist countries as described by Edward Hunter in his 1956 book:
BRAINWASHING: The story of the men who defied it

"Brainwashing is a system of befogging the brain so a person can be seduced into acceptance of what otherwise would be abhorrent to him. He loses touch with reality. Facts and fancy whirl round and change places.... However, in order to prevent people from recognizing the inherent evils in brainwashing, the Reds pretend that it is only another name for something already very familiar and of unquestioned respect, such as education or reform." Edward Hunter, Brainwashing (New York: Pyramid Books, 1956), pages 185-186)

If you have read our articles or Brave New Schools or followed the implementation of Goals 2000 -- the massive education program signed into law by President Clinton in 1994 -- you would know that "education reform" has turned our education system upside-down. Our master plan comes from UNESCO, which published the blueprint for "lifelong learning" in 1973. The six goals announced by UNESCO at its World Conference on Education for All in 1990 became the original six goals for the American version of the global education system (See "Zero Tolerance for Non-Compliance").

Back in 1985, President Reagan and Soviet President Gorbachev signed the U.S. - USSR Education Exchange Agreement. It put American technology into the hands of Communist strategists and, in return, gave us all the psycho-social strategies used in Communist nations to indoctrinate Soviet children with Communist ideology and to monitor compliance for the rest of their lives.

The parallels between the Soviet education system and our Goals 2000 have been well documented by researchers such as James Patrick.1 But few have recorded the practical horrors of Communist brainwashing more thoroughly than did Edward Hunter in his book, Brainwashing. 2

It's time to take a closer look at the well-tested tactics used by Communist regimes to alter minds and create "the new Soviet man," for it's happening here. Once the international system is fully in place, neither we nor our children will remain free from socialist indoctrination and unthinkable controls. It's all part of Goals 2000, the school-to-work legislation, and the process of "lifelong learning" which is essential for building the planned "sustainable communities" around the world.

Edward Hunter based most of the following observations on personal interviews with victims of the Chinese "education reform". These survivors include Western missionaries, prisoners of war, teachers, and business men who were trained through cruel but sophisticated "brainwashing" tactics to betray their nation, embrace dialectic materialism, "confess" lies, and serve the Communist propaganda machine. Later, we will show how some were able to resist the process.

Compare Mr. Hunter's findings with present-day realities. Notice the references to words such as "democratic" and "discussion." Both point to the quest for social solidarity through the Hegelian dialectic or consensus process now used to mold minds through group facilitators in our schools, government, and workplaces from coast to coast.

"This was war! Some called it psychological warfare. A better name would be brain warfare. The only difference was that formerly weapons were aimed principally at bodies, to incapacitate and destroy them, whereas now they were aimed mainly at minds, so subvert and control them. In brain warfare ultimate victory lay in the conquest of attitudes and feelings." (p. 47)

"The Reds wanted people to believe that it could be described by some familiar expression such as education, public relations, persuasion - or by some misleading term like mind reform and re-education." (p. 5)

"...classes had virtually stopped. Varieties of 'learning' meetings were taking up all the time. The students were working on confessions, as were many of the faculty members." (p. 50)

"Meetings were being held in vacant rooms and open spaces wherever a group could gather to discuss, self-criticize, and confess." (51)

"They went about this in the 'democratic discussion' manner this was the new principle of unanimity. He felt so tired that his minds did tricks on him.... God knows how little sleep he got." (43)

"What was truth anyway? Nobody knew. What was false. Others had confessed the same as he. Everyone couldn't be wrong. Could they? Weren't they all one team A collectivity." (44-45)

"They work then on persuading the prisoner to rid his mind of the 'bourgeois poison' he had been carrying about of seeing good on all sides! That is patently ridiculous, they point out to this weary mind. Their patient then is taught that there is good only on one side, that the other is 'all bad' and the enemy. When an individual reaches this upside-down stage in his theorizing, he can then be freed." (198)

"The long-range objective of brainwashing is to win converts who can be depended on to react as desired at any time anywhere. This is the inside-out meaning they give the word voluntary and is why they condemn free will with such ferocity, for its existence is basically inconsistent with communism.

"Even when he stands by himself, the truly indoctrinated communist must be part of the collectively. He must be incapable of hearing opposing ideas and facts, no matter how convincing or how forcibly they bombard his senses. A trustworthy communist must react in an automatic manner without any force being applied. Only then is he the 'new Soviet man' that Lenin foresaw." (184)

"Brainwashing was made up of two processes.

One is the conditioning, or softening-up, process primarily for control purposes.
The other is an indoctrination or persuasion process for conversion purposes." (182)
"[Conditioning and indoctrination] operate strictly within the 'practical' framework of dialectical materialism, which recognizes only power. They want to make sure that their followers will not grab the first opportunity to turn against them. That is the dilemma they have been unable to solve short of creating a 'new Soviet man' with the instinctive obedience of the termite instead of a free will which is subject to reasoning faculties and is therefore never 'reliable'." (183)

“The methods used to make ‘learning’ and confession palatable and workable are borrowed freely from … evangelism, psychiatry and science. The language and ideals of each other these fields were taken over and given new meanings and new interpretations in accordance with communist need. Brainwashing is a combination of this fake evangelism and quack psychiatry in a setting of false science.” (202)

EARLY CHILDHOOD TRAINING -- Infant and preschool conditioning

"The only real guarantee for this was to grab a baby from its cradle and then to keep it all its life from the slightest contact with outside ideas or places, so a subversive word can never enter its ego." (184)

(Today, China continues to outlaw certain biblical truths dealing with our eternal hope)

"The achievement of this submission is the immediate short-range objective of brainwashing. The man does not have to be a true believer so long as he is convinced that he has no alternative to following Red instructions. Hope -- the prospect of any alternative in life, no matter how slim -- must be wiped out of his mind entirely before communism can fell safe with him." (184)

"The hopelessness-inevitability line permeates communist strategy everywhere." (196)

"The Party's own name is one of its most striking examples of double-talk. Communism is sheer power system, gang rule with modern appliances. So long as the individual submits unquestioningly, he is what is referred to as a "disciplined Party member." (184)

"LIFELONG LEARNING": Everyone -- young and old -- MUST participate

"'Learning' and 'confession [now referred to as authenticity]' are inseparable from brainwashing. Everyone has to participate in them, whether a party member or not. Learning means only political teaching from the communist standpoint. Confession is an integral part of the rites. In China there are no exceptions from it for anyone, any more than for attendance at 'learning' classes. The retention of his own individuality by a single person is recognized as a deadly menace by the whole monolithic structure." (184)

“There had been a big change in journalism since the Reds had taken over. News was now a weapon. The reporters knew… that the new authorities didn’t hesitate to alter details according to what they wanted to prove, and even to cut the news out of a whole cloth when it suited their purpose.” (44)

“The Red officials appealed to a man’s common sense. Seeing was believing, wasn’t it?” (45)

“He felt high, from smoking marijuana. The reds had told him not to, but he did. He foxed them; the stuff was growing all over the place. Funny, if they were so anxious to keep it out of his hands, why didn’t they uproot it?" (4Cool [DARE and other values clarification programs]

“Now they had the final proof that America had engaged in cowardly and loathsome germ warfare against the poor peoples of Korea and China. They had the details from the mouth of a man who had done so. What a story! Every newspaper… ran the story. They were copied by hand…. Posted on countless house fronts… Farmers were approached in wet paddies where they worked by 'able Party members' who told them the news.” (48-9)

FACILITATED GROUP DIALOGUES are used to confirm the new Information:

“The radio, with an emphasis all its own, repeated every detail. The routine discussion meetings, held daily in every school, office, or factory, were given over to this news by order of the authorities. The interviews were read out loud, during lunch or after work, by group chairmen who asked in the ‘democratic manner,’ for each person present to express his frank opinion about this ‘unspeakable barbarity perpetrated by the imperialist Americans.’ The repressed burdens each man carried within himself could find vent here. “

“Everyone in China… heard…. Every person was given the feeling of being an eyewitness. Everyone in all of China was called on to swat flies and squash bugs. The authorities explained that there was no telling how many innocent people had been infected with the ‘American plague.’ … A minimum quota was set for insect slayings…. Schoolchildren had to deliver their quota to their teachers. … Nobody could evade his responsibility to the state.” (49)

"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:37-39)

Brainwashing in America

by Berit Kjos - 2001

"Information is useful only if citizens can put it into a framework of knowledge and use it to solve problems, form values, and make choices. Education for sustainability will help them make individual and collective decisions that both benefit themselves and promote the development of sustainable communities. [It] must involve everyone." [4] President [Clinton]'s Council on Sustainable Development

"...absolute behavior control is imminent.... The critical point of behavior control, in effect, is sneaking up on mankind without his self-conscious realization that a crisis is at hand. Man will... never self-consciously know that it has happened." [1]  Raymond Houghton, To Nurture Humaneness, ASCD (curriculum arm of the NEA), 1970

"The Protestant Ethic will atrophy as more and more enjoy varied leisure and guaranteed sustenance.... Most people will tend to be hedonistic..." [2]  Behavioral Science Teacher Education Program (B-STEP), Department of Health, Education and Welfare, 1969.

"We were trained in all phases of warfare, both psychological and physical for the destruction of the Capitalistic society and Christian civilization. In one portion of our studies we went thoroughly into the matter of psychopolitics. This was the art of capturing the minds of a nation through brainwashing and fake mental health... During the past few years I have noted with horror the increase of psychopolitical warfare upon the American public." [3] Kenneth Goff, member of the U.S. Communist Party from 1936 to 1939.
Brainwashing is not, as some anti-Christian educators and students contend, the Biblical  process of training our children to love and follow God. The word "brainwashing" refers to a planned, step-by-step attempt to "wash" family-taught beliefs from the minds of those who oppose government ideology. In America, it would mean replacing the old Biblical values and world view with a new way of thinking that would support a totalitarian agenda. In other words, every child must become a peace child, a willing and active servant of a new world order.

A massive world-wide partnership is pioneering new strategies for social transformation. The media, the entertainment industry, computer companies, government agencies, educational institutions, the United Nations and its accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have all joined together in a common quest for a global mind change. They seek solidarity -- a worldwide unity based on a new set of beliefs and values.  "Obsolete" and "exclusive" loyalties to national sovereignty, Biblical values, and the unadulterated U.S. Constitution stand in their way.

Conforming the masses to their way of thinking requires all the sophisticated tools and tactics developed at the various "behavioral science research" institutes and "education laboratories" established first in England, then in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, and finally in the United States.  If these psycho-social engineers win their battle against an unsuspecting public, they would "wash" away individual thinking, free speech and all the other "rights" that have made America unique. The vacuum would be filled with lofty ideals, enticing images and deceptive promises designed to mold minds that match their global vision. Group thinking and other controls and "incentives" would enforce compliance. (See Mind Control and The UN Plan for Your Mental Health)

Bombard children with mind-changing suggestions

A familiar tale told to first-graders in Pennsylvania illustrates both the tactics and the planned  transformation of the world. We all know the story of the Little Red Hen who wanted some bread to eat. She asked some of her barnyard friends to help make it. But the cat, the dog, and the goat all said "no." Finally she did all the work herself. Yet, when the bread was done and its fragrance spread throughout the farm, her unwilling neighbors were more than willing to help her eat it.

"Won't you share with us?" they begged.

"No," she answered. "Since you didn't help, you don't get anything."

In the context of  traditional values, the moral of the story is: you get what you work for. But those who have learned to think and see from the new global perspective are led to a different conclusion. Listen to the kinds of questions the first grade teacher asked her class:

"Why was the Little Red Hen so stingy?  Isn't it only right that everyone gets to eat? Why wouldn't she share what she had with some who had none?"[5]

The concerned mother who heard and reported this story asked, "What kinds of values were the children taught?"  The new interpretation emphasizes love and sharing, but what is missing?  How might it confuse a child's values?

The answers are obvious. The children were taught socialist values. The new interpretation vilified values that had motivated Americans to be diligent, responsible and fair. The teacher's questions were actually strategic suggestions prompting the group to ridicule traditional values, to see reality and society from the new politically correct perspective, and to intimidate and shame anyone who dared to disagree.

A new mental "framework" is vital to this paradigm shift [see chart]. But to launch the new system, the old patterns must be blurred and broken. The educational establishment knows that children who are fed a daily diet of biblical truth will resist their plans for change. They also know that students bombarded with strategic suggestions and idealized pagan images will probably reject Christianity. If schools can build the "right" kind of framework or filter in the minds of children early enough, the new global beliefs will fit right in. In other words, the battle for the hearts and minds of America's children will be won by the side that first trains children to see reality from its point of view.

This paradigm shift was no mystery to Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World. He wrote that education must provide a mental "framework... within which any piece of information acquired in later life may find its proper and significant place." [6]

In the old days, that mental framework was the biblical world view. But Huxley, like most of today's change agents, called for a New Age/global framework. Like a filter, it blocks facts and ideas that don't fit, but welcomes input that strengthens the framework -- especially when communicated through stories and images that stir the imagination and arouse strong feelings.

Focus on feelings, not facts

This shift from factual education to feeling and experience-based learning began over seventy years ago. Through the decades, the strategies used to manipulate minds in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were developed, first at the Tavistock Clinic near London and later at Germany's Frankfurt School (originally called Frankfurt Institute for Social Research). Their mind-bending methods soon spread to a rising number of psycho-social research centers in America. They were fine-tuned at Columbia, Harvard, Stanford and other American universities, at our regional educational laboratories [7] and at the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies where Elian Gonzales was remediated in preparation for his return to a Communist system. (See Elian Starts Re-Education)

Bob Buford, former head of the Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management and the founder of Leadership Network also taught the new "Christian" leadership methods at the Aspen Institute.

More recently, at the 1989 Governor's Conference on Education in Kansas, Dr. Shirley McCune, then head of the Mid-Continent Regional Educational Laboratory, summarized the policy in her keynote speech:

“The revolution… in curriculum is that we no longer are teaching facts to children…. We no longer see the teaching of facts and information as the primary outcome of education.”[7]

"What will take the place of logic, fact and analysis in the coming age?" This rhetorical question was raised by Dr. Donald A. Cowan, president emeritus of the University of Dallas. His revealing answer exposes an important step toward the new consensus:

"The central way of thought for this new era will be imagination.... Imagination will be the active, creative agent of culture, transforming brute materials to a higher, more knowable state." [8]

It's easy to see why visionary change agents would prefer to inspire the imagination rather than teach facts and logic. Unlike facts and convictions, the imagination can easily be manipulated. Today's popular books, games and other forms of edutainment bring all kinds of suggestions and images that confuse the old ways of thinking and promote the new values.  They twist facts, turn right and wrong upside down, stir the imagination with unthinkable suggestions, redefine words, and give new meanings to old images such as the Little Red Hen. (See Establishing a Global Spirituality)

Eventually, most students become conditioned to see everything through the new politically correct mental filter. The sight of an old social symbol (i.e. flag) or the sound of an word they have learned to hate (pastor, evil, capitalism, etc.) can now trigger emotional reactions that cannot be resolved with facts and logic.

A simple example of this process was exposed by a Christian teacher in Sunnyvale CA. During a public elementary school assembly, the students sang the words of the Peacemakers' Planetary Anthem to the tune of the Star Spangled Banner. This melody, which has symbolized freedom to those who have loved America, now became a tactical trigger used to turn hearts from the old ways to the new vision:

O Say can you see by the one light in all
A New Age to embrace at the call of the nations,
Where our children can play in a world without war
Where we stand hand in hand in the grace of creation,
Where the rivers run clean through forests pristine....
Inspiring, isn't it? The mental images behind those words illustrate the "visioning" part of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) as well as Total Quality Management (TQM). Both use the consensus process to create the collective consciousness needed for the new communities and social organizations.

In the classroom, this process of change often begins with planned "visions" that plant vivid but unrealistic goals into children's minds and emotions.

Next, students must learn to visualize scary images of the current crisis. The crisis is vital to the process. It provides the justification for environmental activism, government control, and unthinkable changes. So, in stark contrast to the lofty ideal in the song above, the students must learn to feel the pain of a dying earth abused by the ruling generation. The colorful classroom manual on global change, Rescue Mission Planet Earth, fits the bill. It is full of scary, sensational pictures and misguided children's opinions that fire the imagination and fuel anger.

Trained teacher/facilitators turn this anger toward parents and grandparents who must bear the blame for destroying our planet. This is important, because -- as in totalitarian countries around the world -- children must learn to submit to state-defined values and loyalties -- not their parents or traditional values.

In Rescue Mission Planet Earth, page after page of pseudo-science and twisted facts prepare the reader to follow the call to political action on behalf of the United Nations and planet Earth. Unless they know the facts, children and their teachers will have little resistance to the heart-breaking images of dying trees, starving children, abused women and an overcrowded planet drowning in pollution and rising oceans.

As Al Gore wrote in Earth in the Balance, "I strongly urge the establishment of a Mission to Planet Earth, a worldwide monitoring system staffed by children...design to rescue the global environment."

It's all part of the plan: create and/or publicize a crisis, vilify the "enemy of the people", then market the pre-planned global solution to the world -- starting with the children. As in the former Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, the school becomes a boot camp for an army of angry and self-righteous rescuers, ready to argue using their feelings, not facts, against anything that opposes their new and narrow idealism. (See third point in Paradigm Shift)

Rescue Mission Planet Earth is nothing less than "the children's version" of the United Nations' Agenda 21.  Sponsored by UNESCO and other UN agencies and promoted by the President's Council on Sustainable Development (see Local Agenda 21), the propaganda-filled children's book helps create the needed "gap" between inspiring visions and a perceived crisis scary enough to evoke strong feelings, change values and motivate children to government-led social action.

"We have to re-orient education so that we turn out planetary carers (sic)," explained David R. Woollcombe [9], President of Peace Child International and head of the Rescue Mission Planet Earth project. He also serves as Consultant to the Global Vision Corporation,[10] a massive international NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) accredited to the UN Commission on Sustainable Development.  Behind the backs of parents around the world, it works to transform the goals, the methods, the leaders, and the process of education. "And that," continued Mr. Woollcombe,

"...requires, as Agenda 21 said, a re-orientation of education towards sustainable development. It's a revolution we're talking about here! It's going to require new materials, it's going to require much greater involvement by young people themselves in their own teaching and education, because actually, adults don't know as much and don't care as much about the environment as many young people do. And it's going to require a much better sort of facultative education, where teacher and students together are on this exploratory journey about how you can square the circle between economic growth and prosperity...." [11]

Before you dismiss Global Vision's power and influence, consider a few of its partners and sponsors. They include UN agencies such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the UN Centre for Human Settlements and the UN Centre for Human Rights.

It also includes numerous foundations, environmental groups, educational institutions, and media and corporate giants such as the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Princeton University Centre of International Studies, Columbia University Department of Religion,  Mystic Fire Video, Apple Computer, Sun Microsystems, The Image Bank, Bell Labs, Robert Muller, Noel Brown, Federico Mayor, Nafis Sadik, Maurice and Hanne Strong (See World Heritage "Protection?"), Gro Harlem Brundtland (Head of The World Health Organization), the Dalai Lama, and movie moguls Bernardo Bertolucci and Martin Scorsese. All have joined their talents and resources in a common pursuit of the global consciousness envisioned by the United Nations.

A "new way of thinking"

In 1994, President Clinton’s Council on Sustainable Development took a big step toward that global vision. It met with an influential  group of like-minded change agents at the Presidio – the former army base in San Francisco that now houses the Gorbachev Foundation USA and dozens of other UN-related organizations. Its partners  included the UN Environmental Programme, the EPA, the U.S. Departments of Education, Labor, State and Energy, the Council of Chief State School Officers, the American Federation of Teachers, Stanford, Colombia and other major universities, the Sierra Club... and the organizers of the Rescue Mission Planet Earth project.

Their joint report, “Education for Sustainability,” became a model for sustainable education. Quoting David Orr, author of Earth in Mind, it states,

"One result [of formal] education is that students graduate without knowing how to think in whole systems, how to find connections, how to ask big questions, and how to separate the trivial from the important. Now more than ever, however, we need people who think broadly and who understand systems, connections, patterns and root causes."[12] emphasis added
"Root causes" involve far more than ecology. Anything that blocks the general acceptance of the new global ideology is suspect and must be challenged. Traditional beliefs and values rank high on the list of villains to their vision of peace. For example, an international "Declaration on Tolerance," prepared by UNESCO and signed by its member nations, shows one of the major "root causes:"

"Tolerance involves the rejection of dogmatism and absolutism."
"Scientific studies and networking should be undertaken to coordinate the international community's response to this global challenge, including analysis of root causes and effective countermeasures, as well as research and monitoring... "
"Promote rational tolerance teaching methods that will address the cultural, social, economic, political and religious sources of intolerance-- major roots of violence and exclusion."  Emphasis added [13]
The earlier statement from Education for Sustainability stressed the "need" for "people who think broadly and who understand systems, connections, patterns and root causes" from a predetermined perspective. This kind of thinking is -- and always have been -- crucial to brainwashing in totalitarian regimes with a global mission.
A basic goal of UNESCO’s worldwide program for "lifelong learning" was summarized in Our Creative Diversity, the 1995 book-sized report from the UN Commission on Culture and Development. Published by UNESCO, it tells us that,

"The challenge to humanity is to adopt new ways of thinking, new ways of acting, new ways of organizing itself in society, in short, new ways of living." [14]

This "new way of thinking" has become the standard for mental health in America. (See The UN Plan for Your Mental Health) As head of the Department of Health and Human Services, Donna Shalala helped organize The National Mental Health Services Knowledge Exchange Network. Ponder its definition for mental health:

"Mental health refers to how a person thinks, feels, and acts when faced with life's situations. It is how people look at themselves, their lives, and the other people in their lives ...and explore choices." [15]

Do you wonder what Dr. Shalala and her network of health planners would consider good thinking? Or bad thinking? This definition doesn't tell us. But Al Gore's 1992 best-seller, Earth in the Balance, helps answer the question:

"The fifth major goal of the Global Marshall Plan should be . . . to organize a worldwide education program to promote a more complete understanding of the crisis. In the process, we should actively search for ways to promote a new way of thinking about the current relationship between human civilization and the earth." [16]

Vice-President Gore was referring to an environmental crisis with psychological overtones. As we pointed out in the article on Al Gore's Vision of Global Salvation, he has diagnosed our basic social problem in America and suggested a solution:

"...we feel increasingly distant from our roots in the earth...we lost our feeling of connectedness to the rest of nature."[17]

"The richness and diversity of our religious tradition throughout history is a spiritual resource long ignored by people of faith, who are often afraid to open their minds to teachings first offered outside their own system of belief. But the emergence of a civilization in which knowledge moves freely and almost instantaneously throughout the world has. . . spurred a renewed investigation of the wisdom distilled by all faiths. This panreligious perspective may prove especially important where our global civilization's responsibility for the earth is concerned." [18] emphasis added

Al Gore's "panreligious perspective" has helped lay the foundation for a global environmental ethic. His vision of a "world education program" is nearing reality. It fits right into the United Nations' education system. This "seamless system" of partnerships and governmental agencies around the world has two main goals:

Prepare human resources for a global workforce (see Workforce Development Means Life-Long Indoctrination)
Bring the "thinking" of the world's human resources into alignment and compliance with the new global standards for Solidarity and Sustainable Development. (See The UN Plan for Your Community)
In other words, people must learn "to look at themselves" as part of the collective society, not as individuals. Their sense of worth must be based on participation in the community and compliance with the new ideology, not on individual beliefs or independent choices. A continual barrage of classroom "assessments" and surveys must test and track how children and their parents think, "explore choices" and draw conclusions.

To win this battle for the minds of the world, the United Nations and its powerful partners have agreed to put aside integrity and employ any possible means to reach their end. But they must still must operate according to guidelines that demand, at least, a perception of the consent of the masses. Therefore, the means to their end must be both subtle and deceptive, employing all the skills and strategies proven successful in the totalitarian countries of the 20th century. Al Gore summarized the attitude behind this global agenda well:

"Adopting a central organizing principle – one agreed to voluntarily – means embarking on an all-out effort to use every policy and program, every law and institution, every treaty and alliance, every tactic and strategy, every plan and course of action – to use, in short, every means to halt the destruction of the environment. . . . Minor shifts in policy, moderate improvement in laws and regulations, rhetoric offered in lieu of genuine change—these are all forms of appeasement, designed to satisfy the public’s desire to believe that sacrifice, struggle and a wrenching transformation of society will not be necessary." [19] Emphasis added

Our leaders have already shown us that Al Gore's words, "every tactic and strategy..." includes compromise, lies, deception, and propaganda. Where Biblical values have been dismissed as obsolete, these tactics seem are perfectly acceptable to those who lead this spiritual and psychological war for control of the masses. The UN, with help from the Clinton-Gore administration, have already re-invented the concept of government. Its new global management system would be based on its principle of sustainable development or rather, the 3 E's: Environment, Economy and Equity. It means using a grossly exaggerated view of the environmental "crisis" to re-educate the masses, persuading them to accept totalitarian tactics for redistributing the world's economic resources and creating socialist equality. (See Local Agenda 21- The U.N. Plan for Your Community).

The masses would be controlled through the Hegelian dialectic (consensus) process by globalist leaders who would view the world through the new filter of globalism. Polls, propaganda, simple slogans, and continual conflicts would be essential to its success. In fact, the greater the perceived crisis, the faster the leader can assume the coveted political powers that true freedom forbids. President Clinton has already mastered these totalitarian strategies, as Mikhail Gorbachev suggested in a 1993 editorial:

"Bill Clinton will be a great president if he can make America the creator of a new world order based on consensus."[20]

Remember, consensus demands a felt crisis, and today's moral crisis -- created by trading moral boundaries for sensual freedom -- serves the purpose well. The absence of absolute boundaries leads to social chaos which, in turn, calls for social controls that would have been unthinkable under the old paradigm. In other words, the official promotion of sensual indulgence serves a political purpose.  Aldous Huxley summarized it well in Brave New World:

"As political and economic freedom... diminishes, sexual freedom tends compensatingly to increase. And the dictator... will do well to encourage that freedom.  In conjunction with the freedom to daydream under the influence of dope, movies and the radio, it will help to reconcile his subjects to the servitude."[21]

Psalm 2 fit our times:

Why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
"Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us."
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh....
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
"Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion." ....
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

"Article 13. "The child shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers...."[3] Convention on the Rights of the Child

"Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ."  Colossians 2:6-8

Don't be deceived! The twenty-year-old Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) has little to do with personal rights. It has everything to do with changing values and undermining the traditional family. Since it transfers parental authority to the state, Christian children are legally free to reject safe family guidelines. The state will back their choice!  As Hillary Clinton wrote back in the nineties, "It Takes a Village!"

This process started long ago. Its milestones include the birth of the United Nations in 1945 and, starting in 1948, its "consultative" relationships with the new World Federation for Mental Health. The Federation's founding document, "Mental Health and World Citizenship," exposed the mind-changing agenda behind the social sciences:

"Studies of human development indicate the modifiability of human behaviour throughout life, especially during infancy, childhood and adolescence.... Social institutions such as family and school impose their imprint early.... It is the men and women in whom these patterns of attitude and behaviour have been incorporated who present the immediate resistance to social, economic and political changes."[4]

The CRC is designed to erode that resistance! For example, its ARTICLE 14 tells parents to "respect the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion." That might make sense if parents were free to teach them safe moral and spiritual boundaries. But it spells disaster in today's boundary-free culture, which bombards our children with promiscuous, pornographic and pluralistic suggestions and images.

ARTICLE 14 includes this qualification: "Freedom to manifest one's religion or beliefs may be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary to protect public safety, order, health or morals, or the fundamental rights and freedoms of others." But who are those "others" that need protection? All who despise the Bible and are offended by moral standards? That's already happening! As one school administrator warned a student: "Leave your faith in the car."[5]

ARTICLE 15 grants children the right to "freedom of association," while ARTICLE 16 forbids "interference with his or her privacy... or correspondence." Their freedom to choose would fling the doors open to every lewd kind of literature, texting and Internet communications.

Notice the strange twist. With ratification of this Convention, the state terminates parental rights to set wise boundaries and maintain moral standards. It "frees" children to follow their new pied pipers into a world of corruption, group thinking, and government control. Meanwhile, Christian children lose their traditional right to express their faith, since Christian beliefs and values are too divisive for today's changing world.

This heartbreaking process is illustrated by a Canadian family. (Since Canada has ratified this Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), it must conform to UN standards):

"The father had ordered the daughter... to remain off the Internet. She didn't, chatting on websites her father had tried to block and then posting 'inappropriate' pictures of herself online, using a friend's Internet portal. As punishment, the father refused to let her go on a scheduled school trip, so the 12-year-old went to Canada's judicial system to get her way.  ...[she] had access to the courts using a court-appointed attorney representing her in her parents' custody dispute."[6]

"Quebec Superior Court rejected the Gatineau father's appeal of a lower court ruling that said his punishment was too severe for the wrongs he said his daughter committed. The father is 'flabbergasted.'"[7]

Such biased verdicts complement the deceptive language in the UN's celebrated Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Notice how it parallels the CRC: Its ARTICLE 18 guarantees "the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion." And ARTICLE 19 affirms "the right to freedom of opinion and expression...." But ARTICLE 29 warns that:

"these rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations."[8]

In other words, UN "rights" won't be granted to those who disagree with its goals. They include:

A New World Order ruled by unelected globalists with a socialist agenda
The end of national sovereignty, absolute truth and the traditional family
Social solidarity and spiritual pluralism purged of "divisive" Christian values.
A communitarian network of partnerships between three sectors: (1) government, (2) business, and (3) social. The latter includes community organizations, churches, families, etc. In this unequal partnership, the government becomes the controlling "partner." It would set the standards, measure (or assess) compliance, reward group "progress," and punish resisters.
This agenda may sound good to utopians who put their hope in global CHANGE -- and who ignore the duplicity of today's powerful and pragmatic globalist change agents. Today's clever disinformation "speaks" louder than the truth -- especially to listeners trained to follow feelings rather than facts!

So it's not surprising that two-faced "double-speak" is central to UN propaganda. UNESCO's Declaration on the Role of Religion is a good example. It calls for tolerance and dialogue -- but shows no tolerance toward Christianity. Its unchanging truths simply don't fit UNESCO requirements:

"We will promote dialogue and harmony between and within religions … respecting the search for truth and wisdom that is outside our religion.… We call upon the different religious and cultural traditions to join hands… and to cooperate with us."[9]

The word "cooperate" is a benign way of saying "submit to the new global standards." And any substandard results of that "search for truth" would soon be silenced by today's ever-present dialectical "group-think."

The CRC brings this interfaith agenda right into our homes and schools. Following the UN pattern, its promised "rights" are reserved for those who embrace its socialist, anti-Christian values. The Preamble sets the stage:

"Considering that the child should be fully prepared to live an individual life in society, and brought up in the spirit of the ideals proclaimed in the Charter of the United Nations [co-authored by Alger Hiss], and in particular in the spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality and solidarity....

ARTICLE 3. "...ensure that the institutions, services and facilities responsible for the care or protection of children shall conform with the standards established by competent authorities..."

ARTICLE 9. "...a child shall not be separated from his or her parents against their will, except when competent authorities subject to judicial review determine, in accordance with applicable law and procedures, that such separation is necessary for the best interests of the child..." [Might faith in God's unchanging Truth be considered incompatible with those "best interests?"]
ARTICLE 12. "...assure to the child who is capable of forming his or her own views the right to express those views freely in all matters affecting the child, the views of the child being given due weight in accordance with the age and maturity of the child."

ARTICLE 17. "States Parties recognize the important function performed by the mass media and shall ensure that the child has access to information and material from a diversity of national and international sources, especially those aimed at the promotion of his or her social, spiritual and moral [referring to politically correct, not Christian, values] well-being and physical and mental health. To this end, States Parties shall:
(c) "Encourage the production and dissemination of children's books.... [What kind of books? Most popular books today immerse our children in suggestions, images, beliefs and values that clash with Christian values!]

(e) "Encourage the development of appropriate guidelines for the protection of the child from information and material injurious to his or her well-being. [The Bible? Traditional history books? Missionary stories?]

Might those "injurious" materials include the Bible? Missionary stories? Traditional history books or other information that could clash with UN ideology? Probably! Since the goal is CHANGE -- establishing a New World Order -- any hindrance to that vision is already censored in public schools. The Globalist Elite have no tolerance for the America we have treasured!

This socialist revolution reminds me of the anger that followed the 1996 Oklahoma bombing. Day after day, the media's accusing pens pointed to suspected foes of American togetherness -- those whose "enraged rhetoric" had created a national "climate of hate and paranoia." They ranged from "rabid" radio hosts and "extremists" to concerned Christian parents. "Their coalition," wrote Time,

"included well known-elements of far-right thought: tax protesters, Christian homeschoolers, conspiracy theorists... and self-reliant types who resent a Federal Government that seems to favor grizzly bears and wolves over humans..."[10]

Apparently, the recent controversial report from the Department of Homeland Security was simply the latest expression of the socialist agenda. Do you remember its amazing report on 'Right-wing Extremism?' It suggests that economic woes, "the return of military veterans" and "individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration"[11] could lead to the "emergence of terrorist groups" and violence.

Notice what's happening. In spite of their call to unity, our socialist leaders are stirring up division. That's because this intentional vilification of ordinary, peace-loving Americans serves a useful purpose. Hitler understood it well. He, too, was determined to separate followers from resisters. Remember what he wrote in Mein Kampf:

"The art of truly great popular leaders in all ages has consisted chiefly in ... concentrating always on a single adversary.... It is part of a great leader's genius to make even widely separated adversaries appear as if they belonged to one category..."[12] (See The Enemy of the People)

This CRC is an invitation as well as a curse. It would "free" our children and grandchildren to be World Citizens, immune to the call of God and traditional parental values. But for those who refuse to compromise, it spells the end of American freedom. Ordinary Americans are demonized as an enemy, while the actual enemy has become a friend. Thomas Sowell said it well:

"While the rest of us may be worried about violent Mexican drug gangs on our border... the Director of Homeland Security is worried about 'right-wing extremists.' ... somehow they just know that you right-wingers are itching to unleash terror somewhere....

"So-called 'honor killings' by Muslims in the United States... does not seem to arouse any concern by the Department of Homeland Security.... When it comes to the thuggery of ACORN... the Department of Homeland Security apparently sees no evil, hears no evil and speaks no evil."[13]

ARTICLE 29 states: "...the education of the child shall be directed to... (e) The development of respect for the natural environment."

That vision could be good if it wasn't wrapped in a political agenda -- and a spiritual one as well. But countless environmental and religious groups are now sharing their strategies for a new earth-centered ideology. Many so-called churches are persuaded that green religions are more beneficial than the "obsolete" certainties of the Bible. Al Gore leads the way. Ponder this quote from Earth in the Balance:

"The richness and diversity of our religious tradition throughout history is a spiritual resource long ignored by people of faith, who are often afraid to open their minds to teachings first offered outside their own system of belief. But the emergence of a civilization in which knowledge moves freely and almost instantaneously throughout the world has... spurred a renewed investigation of the wisdom distilled by all faiths. This panreligious perspective may prove especially important where our global civilization's responsibility for the earth is concerned." (pages 258-259)

Mocking truth is a sign of our times, and "fear" has become a common accusation against us. Yet, of all the world's people, Christians have the least reason to fear. For our sovereign God reigns -- all the more in the midst of today's unholy changes:

"...in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 8:37-39

Meanwhile, "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God..." Ephesians 6:10-12

Does your 'Mental Health' meet global standards?
September 2003 - Part 1: Legalizing Mind Control

“Principles of menl health cannot be successfully furthered in any society unless there is progressive acceptance of the concept of world citizenship."1 The International Congress on Mental Health, 1948.

"...the subject which will be of most importance politically is Mass Psychology.... The populace will not be allowed to know how its convictions were generated. When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for a generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen. As yet there is only one country which has succeeded in creating this politician’s paradise.”2  Bertrand Russell, The Impact of Science on Society
Would the American people allow government control and collectivism to replace freedom and individualism? You bet! So would the rest of the world. This social transformation is well under way, and the masses simply flow with the change.3 " [See "Brainwashing in America"] Planned over a century ago, the framework for managing and monitoring this worldwide revolution was in place by 1945.

Like the mythical Phoenix rising out of its ashes, the United Nations emerged from the fiery devastation of World War 2 as a beacon of light to utopian humanists and their hopeful followers. Within a year after Communist leader Alger Hiss presided over its birth, some of its most powerful agencies had been established. Julian Huxley (brother of Aldous) led the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). And Canadian psychiatrist Brock Chisholm laid the foundation for the World Health Organization (WHO).

The two socialist Director-Generals shared a common vision of a tightly controlled global community, but Dr. Chisholm summarized it best. Ponder his words, for they exposed a global plan for "peace" designed to conform the "mental health" of all people to his radical mission. " Notice the villains in this crusade:
"The responsibility for charting the necessary changes in human behavior rests clearly on the sciences working in that field. Psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, economists, and politicians must face this responsibility....
"Can we identify the reasons why we fight wars...? Many of them are easy to list -- prejudice, isolationism, the ability to emotionally and uncritically to believe unreasonable things....
"The only psychological force capable of producing these perversions is morality, the concept of right and wrong...   "For many generations we have bowed our necks to the yoke of the conviction of sin. We have swallowed all manner of poisonous certainties fed us by our parents, our Sunday and day school teachers....
"...it has long been generally accepted that parents have perfect right to impose any points of view, any lies or fears, superstitions, prejudices, hates, or faith on their defenseless children. It is, however, only recently that it has become a matter of certain knowledge that these things cause neuroses, behavior disorders, emotional disabilities, and failure to develop to a state of emotional maturity which fits one to be a citizen of a democracy....
"Surely the training of children in home and schools should be of at least as great public concern as their vaccination for their own protection.... "Individuals who have emotional disabilities of their own, guilts, fears, inferiorities, are certain to project their hates on to others... They are a very real menace... Whatever the cost, we must learn to live in friendliness and peace with... all the people in the world...."
"There is something to be said... for gently putting aside the mistaken old ways of our elders if that is possible. If it cannot be done gently, it may have to be done roughly or even violently.4
Those "poisonous certainties" include all the unchanging truths and values that can't be compromised. That's why Biblical Christianity was -- and continues to be -- incompatible with the world's standards for mental health. Many who refuse to conform to the evolving guidelines for tolerance, inclusiveness, group dialogue and adaptability to the UN plan for "continual change" are facing severe consequences.5 [See "Ban truth, reap tyranny"]

A WHO (World Health Organization) agency named "Nations for Mental Health" was established to guide the national branches of this global network founded by Dr. Chisholm. Its website tells us that "Governments will be assisted to formulate, implement, monitor and evaluate mental health policies...." These “policies should enable all individuals whose mental health is disturbed or whose psychological balance may be compromised to obtain services adapted to their needs, and to promote the optimal development of the mental health of the population."6
Do you wonder how nations will define, measure, monitor and promote "the optimal mental health of the population"? It starts with subtle, even secret, legislation. Back in 1960, Dr. Lewis Alesen, former surgeon and president of California Medical Association, wrote this timely warning:

"... the proponents of the mental health program have been quick to elaborate a series of legislative proposals.... This is the age-old subterfuge of the collectivist, whose only solution for any problem, be it economic, social or political, is the passage of another law, the imposition of another tax, and the establishment of another bureau."7

He is right. Year after year, new laws that widen the web of surveillance -- and new regulations that ban "hate," "intolerance" and other broad and ambiguous threats to solidarity  -- have been building an inescapable framework for control.

"We have a clear blueprint in place," announced Surgeon-General David Satcher at the "National Healthy People Consortium" meeting in 1998. "Currently, 47 states are actively involved in Healthy People 2000 and 'Healthy City and Healthy Community' initiatives are being pursued throughout the country. Hundreds of national organizations have reviewed the Year 2000 objectives and have adopted them as their own. ... No priority yet has generated as much interest and enthusiasm as this one on mental health..."

"...our efforts will be focused on maintaining a system of global health surveillance," he continued. "Healthy People 2010 is the United States' contribution to the World Health Organization's call to the nations of the world to renew their commitment to health for all."8 [Emphasis added]

On April 29, 2002, President George W. Bush added his support to this massive network by signing an Executive Order with the misleading title, "President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health."  It established a commission which bound the Departments of Health and Human Services, Education and Labor together in a common quest for "the desired outcomes of mental health care, which are to attain each individual's maximum level of employment, self-care, interpersonal relationships, and community participation."9 [Emphasis added]

That may sound fine to some of you. After all, mental illness has devastated countless lives and families around the world. But this vast new mental surveillance and remediation program reaches far beyond actual mental illness. Instead of informing tax-payers, its nice-sounding goals and promising titles seem designed to hide the truth, pacify the masses and prevent opposition. In his 1960 book, Mental Robots, Dr. Lewis A. Alesen, described this age-old tactic:

"Most of the almost innumerable books, pamphlets, and other publications issued by the sponsors of the mental health program are purposely and craftily disingenuous, disguising its real and ultimate purpose: ... the ultimate reduction of every individual in this world, except the favored few who conceive of themselves as possessed of an incomparable genius in their ability to direct the affairs of others, into... a common servile obeisance to his master, the State...."10

President Bush assures us that his new "Freedom Commission" (subtitled "Achieving the Promise: Transforming Mental Health Care in America") would "follow the principles of Federalism." Instead, it actually paves the way for an official cradle-to-grave behavioral modification and monitoring system that would turn those wise federalist principles upside-down. To "ensure that its recommendations would promote innovation, flexibility, and accountability at all levels of government" this Commission need only "respect" -- not accept or acknowledge --"the constitutional role of the States." That's not the Federalism guaranteed in our Constitution.11

Eight months after President Bush signed this Executive Order, his new "Freedom Commission on Mental Health" presented its report. Like the Homeland Security Act, the report focused on "prevention." To globalist managers who would conform our thinking to a communitarian ideal, prevention implies a continual program of assessing, monitoring and molding every mind -- before any evidence of "unhealthy" thinking appears. The following excerpts from its "Goal 4: Early Mental Health Screening, Assessment and Referral to Services" presents the persuasive "scientific" evidence needed to gain public support:

"New understanding of the brain indicates that early identification and interventions can sharply improve outcomes and that longer periods of abnormal thoughts and behavior have cumulative effects and can limit capacity for recovery....
"Since children develop rapidly, delivering mental health services and supports early and swiftly is necessary to avoid permanent consequences and to ensure that children are ready for school. Emerging neuroscience highlights the ability of environmental factors to shape brain development and related behavior...
"Early interventions, such as the Nurse-Family Partnership,12  and educational efforts can help a greater number of parents, the public, and providers learn about the importance of the first years of a child's life and how to establish a foundation for healthy social and emotional development."
"A coordinated, national approach to these issues will help eliminate social and emotional barriers to learning.... More effort is needed to heighten public awareness of the developmental requirements for children's social and emotional well-being...."13
What is meant by "eliminate social and emotional barriers to learning"? Might it include Christian faith and a Biblical view of right and wrong? Or parental objections to government interference?12 Or the constitutional rights that protect religious freedom?

If so, it would match Dr. Chisholm's blueprint for "mental health." You read some of the excerpts earlier. In that 1946 message (quoted earlier), the WHO pioneer asked, ""Can such a program of re-education... be charted?"

"The answer is yes, and each year brings us closer to this sobering reality.
But we shouldn't be surprised. The Bible describes a time ahead when His people will face unthinkable hatred and persecution from a world government determined to wipe out Biblical Christianity and all other obstacles to its absolute control. When that time comes, there will be only one place to hide: in Jesus Christ. Between now and then, let's pray for God's guidance and seek to awaken as many people as possible to the coming challenges to faith and freedom.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed....
'Be still, and know that I am God!"  Psalm 46:1-2, 10

Part 2: Justifying Mind Control
Recent history of the "prevention" side of "Mental Health"

"Americans today are being deluged with...proposals by federal, state, and local governments classified under the broad general and disarmingly innocent title of 'The Mental Health Program.'... [1]  Mental Robots

"...absolute behavior control is imminent.... The critical point of behavior control, in effect, is sneaking up on mankind without his self-conscious realization that a crisis is at hand. Man will... never self-consciously know that it has happened."[2] Raymond Houghton, ASCD (curriculum arm of the NEA), 1970
"An Iceberg presents only one tenth of its deadly mass above the ocean’s surface," wrote Dr. Alesen in Mental Robots (1960). "So it is with this pernicious so-called mental health program."[1]  Alesen, a former surgeon who served as president of the California Medical Association in the 1950s, went on to describe the growing web of government control aimed at eliminating "barriers" to global oneness.

His conclusion? The revolutionary pioneers in the global "mental health" movement showed little concern for the standard forms of mental illness. Instead, their "therapy" would target the sick masses of humanity -- with the main focus on the misguided individuals who take their stand on the uncompromising truths of the Bible.

Their mass psychology has already changed our world. Have you wondered why we suddenly live in a "postmodern" world with little tolerance toward truth or traditional authorities? Or why France, Sweden and Canada are banning offensive Scriptures? Or why traditional morality means nothing to today's consensus-trained youth? [See "Ban truth; Reap Tyranny"]

The war against Christian symbols and holidays may be the most obvious symptom. God has been banned from Christmas celebrations, art projects, seasonal songs and American history. Even a first-grader's personal prayer has led to ridicule and reproof.  How did this nation slide so far from its foundations?

Part of the answer is found in the new usage of a familiar word: "prevention." Decades ago, humanist visionaries twisted its focus 180 degrees. No longer directed against sexual immorality and occult seductions, "prevention" would instead open the door to forbidden thrills by blocking interference from old-fashioned parents, pastors and teachers.

In other words, prevention would be a key to social control and communal transformation. Just as the U.S. Homeland Security department uses the word prevention to justify extensive surveillance of ordinary citizens, so our U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Education (DOE) -- and their global partners-- use prevention to mold the views and values of our children.

"[Our objective] will require a change in the prevailing culture--the attitudes, values, norms and accepted ways of doing things,"[3] said Marc Tucker, the master-mind behind today's global school-to-work system.

Remember (from Part 1) the words of Dr. Brock Chisholm, the first head of the World Health Organization (WHO). He laid the blame for war and human conflict squarely at the feet of parents and Sunday schools teachers who -- from the beginning -- fed their children the "poisonous certainties" of the Bible. An active Unitarian who despised God's truths, he asked a suggestive question:
"Can we identify the reasons why we fight wars...?  Many of them are easy to list --prejudice, isolationism, the ability to emotionally and uncritically believe unreasonable things....
"When the other [infectious diseases] were attacked at the preventative level, some martyrs had to be sacrificed to the cause of humanity, because reactionary forces fought back. Ignorance, superstition, moral certainties... resisted through anti-reform organizations, religious and political pressure groups, even political parties."[4]
Chisholm's friend, Alger Hiss, agreed. In 1948, the infamous Soviet spy published Chisholm's message on mental health in his socialist journal, International Conciliation. Hiss, then president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, added his own Preface which showed the involvement of the Rockefeller Foundation in the mental health movement.[5]

Earlier, another loyal friend had launched a new journal called Psychiatry,  which would gain immense prestige by the end of the century. Its owner, US psychiatrist Harry Stack Sullivan, also published Chisholm's message.[4]

Dr. Sullivan and Dr. Chisholm had been working closely with the British Brigadier-General John Rawlings Rees. Dr. Rees had helped found the Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology, the birthplace of the infamous Tavistock Institute for Human Relations [See "Brainwashing in America"]. As military officers, all three had been involved in psychological research using their respective armies. All wanted to know how conflict, fear and psychological trauma could be used to manage large human populations.

The three psychiatrists represented three nations -- the UK, USA and Canada. Together, they mapped the course for the world's mental health management system by the light of their own socialist vision of global conformity.[6]

Dr. Rees had envisioned a global NGO (non-governmental organization) that would network with political and civic leaders around the world. His leadership led to the birth of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) in 1948. It would "enjoy consultative relationship with several UN agencies and... national groups" but remain free from government oversight. Its purpose: "To promote among all peoples and nations the highest possible level of mental health... in its broadest biological, medical, educational, and social aspects."[7]

Dr. Chisholm, Margaret Mead (the federation’s second president) and other social scientists from ten countries wrote its founding document, "Mental Health and World Citizenship."[7] Notice their attitude toward traditional values:
"Studies of human development indicate the modifiability of human behaviour throughout life, especially during infancy, childhood and adolescence.... The social sciences and psychiatry also offer a better understanding of the great obstacles to rapid progress in human affairs....
"Social institutions such as family and school impose their imprint early.... It is the men and women in whom these patterns of attitude and behaviour have been incorporated who present the immediate resistance to social, economic and political changes. Thus, prejudice, hostility or excessive nationalism may become deeply embedded in the developing personality... often at great human cost....
"...change will be strongly resisted unless an attitude of acceptance has first been engendered."[8]
Today, more than half a century later, that "attitude of acceptance" has been built. Nations around the world are fast conforming to the pattern set in the 1940s. The global network of "mental health" partners is working to prevent anything that would hinder "positive" collective thinking in the rising global village. Few notice its tentacles reaching into community health programs and civil society in over 130 nations around the world.[9]

Pushed by this massive system, our communities are changing fast. Ismail Serageldin, Vice President of the World Bank, calls cities "the vectors of social change and transformation"[10] and so they are. That's where schools, health agencies, private institutions, the media, social activists and other members of "civil society" strive together to promote "progress" and to produce "world citizens" for the envisioned 21st century community. [See "The Habitat II Agenda"]

Mass immigration (planned back in the 1940s) and multicultural conflicts have added to the urgency, and the intentional crisis has helped promote pre-planned solutions. Today, strategies for social change such as group thinking, conflict resolution, consensus building and continual compromise are becoming the norm. All are based on the dialectic process used in the former Soviet Union to conform minds to Soviet ideology.[11]

Small wonder Dr. Satcher, former U.S. Surgeon General, showed special interest mental health. "No priority yet has generated as much interest and enthusiasm as this one on mental health," he announced in 1998. "...our efforts will be focused on maintaining a system of global health surveillance."[12]

Dr. Richard Carmona, the new U.S. Surgeon General appointed by President George W. Bush, seems to be following the same plan. In a speech at the American Psychological Association's 2003 Annual Convention in Toronto, he asked for help in raising "the public's mental health literacy."

"Until we can say the words 'public health' and everybody thinks of that as including mental health, we will not have a complete health-care system," Dr. Carmona told the crowd of psychologists. "I won't be satisfied until we achieve parity."[13]

"My agenda is prevention," Cardona informed the U.S. National Institute on Health. "We need to become a prevention-oriented society — one that accepts social responsibility, makes good decisions. Things like not smoking, increasing physical activity and eliminating risky behaviors are very simple, cost-effective measures that can have a huge impact on our society. After all, the lifestyles that we are creating today are what our children and grandchildren will inherit."[14]

His argument rings true. Good medical doctors naturally encourage prevention. They would want their patients to maintain their health and strength. But when globalist "change agents" step into the picture with their psycho-social strategies -- calling their agenda "prevention" in order to gain your approval -- they bring oppression instead of peace.

Cardona mentioned positive life-style changes such as exercise and not smoking. Those are good suggestions. But when government officials assume the right to guide our personal lives, where else might they lead us?  Could they mandate participation in the consensus process through government-funded "service learning" and other manipulative "lifelong learning" programs? Actually, it's already happening -- just as it happened in the Soviet Union long ago. [15]

Under the new system, noncompliant individuals would be caught and disciplined, for the web of surveillance and remediation is becoming virtually inescapable. In Part 1, you saw that President Bush's "Freedom Commission on Mental Health" would involve continual assessments and monitoring of human resources. Children classified as loners, independent thinkers, poor or uncooperative team members (unwilling to conform to the group) would be "at risk" of mandatory remediation. Ultimately, all people and institutions would be held accountable to the intrusive national and international standards for positive mental health.

Promoted as prevention, such controls might even seem right. After all, it's for the "common good." And (as you will see in Part 3) in a world dulled by feel-good thrills and the sensual seductions of the media, the masses will barely notice the loss of their freedom.

"...the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
"But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." 2 Timothy 4:3-5

Steps toward Global Mind Control
under the banner of "Mental Health" and Education

1909. Five years after his release from a primitive "insane asylum," Clifford Beers, formed the U.S. National Committee for Mental Hygiene" and called for a network of mental hygiene societies throughout the world."1
1910. The Eugenics Record Office in Cold Spring Harbor in New York was funded by the Carnegie Institute, and would receive funding from the Rockefeller Foundation three years later. "The Rockefeller Foundation also will fund Nazi Dr. Ernst Rudin's eugenics research at the Kaiser Wilhelm Brain Research Institute in Berlin. [See 1932]" [Dr. Dennis L.Cuddy]

1916. In Democracy and Education, John Dewy wrote, "There is always the danger that increased personal independence will decrease the social capacity of an individual. In making him more self-reliant, it may make him more self-sufficient.... It often makes an individual so insensitive in his relations to others as to develop an illusion of being really able to stand and act alone -- an unnamed form of insanity which is responsible for a large part of the remedial suffering of the world."2, Cuddy page 13.

1918. In The Science of Power, Benjamin Kidd wrote, "The main cause of those deep diving differences which separate peoples and nationalities and classes from each other and which prevent or stultify collective effort in all its most powerful forms... could all be swept away if civilization put before itself the will to impose on the young the ideal of subordination to the common aims of organized humanity... So to impose it has become the chief end of education in the future. ... Give us the Young and we will create a new mind and new earth in a single generation."
Kidd goes onto quote Masonic Carbonari leader Guiseppe Mazzini (1805-1872): "Your task is to form the universal family.... Education, this is the great word which sums up our whole doctrine. [From Mazzini's On the Duties of Man].  According to Dennis Cuddy, Kidd emphasizes Mazzini message that "education is addressed through emotion to the moral faculties in the young and instruction to the intellectual (faculties)." "Power centres in emotion."2 Cuddy, page 14

1919. With funding from the Commonwealth Fund and the Rockefeller Foundation, Clifford Beers "formed the predecessor of WFMH [World Federation for Mental Health], the International Committee for Mental Hygiene (ICMH). Other supporters were Clarence Hincks, M.D., of the Canadian Medical Association, Adolph Meyer, M.D. of Johns Hopkins Hospital; and psychologist William James of Harvard.  William James, John Dewey and other socialist visionaries spread the philosophy of pragmatism, which denies Biblical truth, sees truth as relative, and tests its validity by its practical and measurable effects.
Note: Remember, almost every public step in this social revolution won public sympathy and acceptance by focusing on a real crisis. But in the hands of socialist change agents, the nice-sounding "solution" became a stepping stone to an ever expanding web of control.1

1920. Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology (TIMP) pioneered research into psychological warfare under the direction of Brigadier-General John Rawlings Rees.1 Here, the British Army Bureau of Psychological Warfare would study the effects of severe stress and shellshock on British soldiers and research the human "breaking point" in order to learn how conflict and psychological shock could be used to manipulate and manage large human populations. 3?
1920s. The eugenics movement (quest for racial purity) spread through Western nations.

1925. The Rockefeller Foundation funded the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Psychiatry in Munick, directed by Dr. Ernst Rudin. Additional funding was provided by the Harrimans, Warburg and the British Crown. It continued to sponsor the Institute and its Nazi leader throughout the devastating holocaust of World Ward II. 4?

1925. A  Rockefeller Foundation's grant gives birth to the International Bureau of Education.2 Cuddy 15

1930.  The ICMH’s First International Congress on Mental Hygiene, held in Washington, D.C., founded the International Committee for Mental Hygiene. The Congress drew more than 4,000 participants.1

1932. Rockefeller Foundation president Max Mason tells trustees that "The Social Sciences will concern themselves with the rationalization of social control... the control of human behavior." 2 Cuddy 18

1932. Dr. Ernst Rudin, the Nazi director of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Psychiatry (funded by "Rockefeller) was appointed president of the global Eugenics Federation.

1934 (February). A Rockefeller "progress report" (by one of the division heads) asks, "Can we develop so sound and extensive a genetics that we can hope to breed, in the future, superior men?"2 Cuddy, 18.

1930-33. Hitler came to power and delegated Rudin to direct the Racial Hygiene Society, which called for sterilization or death of people considered "racially impure." The Rockefeller Foundation funded an anthropological survey of the eugenically correct population by Nazi eugenicists Rudin and others. 4?

1933. British Columbia's Sexual Sterilization Act of 1933. In the 1970s, former health minister Dennis Cocke helped strike down that law. He said, "Many people thought, like I did, that it was disgusting that somehow or another a profession could deem a person other than a human being."5

1937. The ICMH’s Second International Congress on Mental Hygiene. 1

1937. "In Wadenberg, Germany, a court has taken parents away from their children because they refused to teach them Nazi ideology. The parents are pacifists, members of a Christian sect called International Bible Researchers. The court accused them of creating an environment where the children would grow up 'enemies of the state.' The children were delivered into the state's care. The judge delivered a lengthy statement reading in part, 'The law as a racial and national instrument entrusts German parents with the education of their children only under certain conditions, namely, that they educate them in the fashion that the nation and state expect.'" (Clifton Daniel, Ed., Chronicle of the 20th Century, cites a news article published Nov. 29, 1937)

1939. Rockefeller Foundation helps launch the School-Health Coordinating Service.2 Cuddy 22

1940s. "Otmar Verschuer and his assistant Dr. Joseph Mengele together wrote reports for special courts, which enforced Rudin's racial purity law against the illegal cohabitation of Aryans and non-Aryans. In the early 1940s, a large factory was built "at Auschwitz... to utilize the Standard Oil IG Farbin patents with concentration camp slave labor to make gasoline from coal.  The SS guarded the Jewish and other inmates and selected for killing those who were unfit for IG Farbin slave labor.... Standard Oil and German President Emil Heilfeck testified after the war at the Nuremberg Trial that Standard Oil funds helped pay for the SS guards at Auschwitz.  The Rockefeller Foundation defends its record by claiming that its funding of Nazi Germany programs during World War II was limited to psychiatric research."  4

1941 (fall): "The resurgence of an international mental hygiene movement [eugenics] was foreshadowed by the Canadian army’s creation... of the Directorate of Personnel Selection, led by psychiatrist George Brock Chisholm, M.D. In that role he became a friend and confidant of American psychiatrist Harry Stack Sullivan, M.D., then a consultant to the U.S. Selective Service. Both were concerned with how to select a civilian army and what public mental health resources would be necessary after the war. 1  Origins of the World Federation for Mental Health

1943: The Rockefeller Foundation helped fund the Allen Memorial Institute at McGill University in Montreal. Working with the Canadian military and the Office of Strategic Services (The OSS became the CIA in 1947), Dr. Cameron conducted torturous experiments on human guinea pigs in order to perfect the various mind control techniques. These brainwashing tactics included coercive interrogation, psychosurgery, drugs, hypnosis and "between 30 to 60 electroshocks over a short period" along with powerful tranquilizers to control anxiety. Cameron's justification: his patients, "like prisoners of Communists, tended to resist and had to be broken down." This is described in the 1989 book, Journey Into Madness: The True Story of Secret CIA Mind Control and Medical Abuse

1943. Joseph Mengele appointed medical commandant of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

1945. Harry Stack Sullivan Major, US Army, founder of the journal Psychiatry, thought his viewpoints on interpersonal relations could contribute to avoiding future conflicts between nations and the risk of war. In collaboration with Dr. Brock Chisholm, a Canadian psychiatrist and later director of the World Health Organization, he put these ideas to practice. Thus was born the World Federation for Mental Health.... Of Sullivan the person, some information is fact, some is anecdotal, some is rumor. That he was homosexual is widely suspected; that he was improvident with money is fact (he borrowed from colleagues and declared bankruptcy twice in the 1930's); that he was loose with the truth at times, especially during his early years, is speculated."7

1945. Immediately after the bombing of Hiroshima..., Dr. Sullivan invited Chisholm, then director of medical services for the Canadian army, to lecture at the William Alanson White Foundation. In two addresses, titled 'The Psychiatry of Enduring Peace and Social Progress,' he articulated his view of psychiatry and psychology as the disciplines that could make it possible for human beings to abandon war and become 'citizens of the world.' He and Sullivan were already thinking in terms of 'a psychiatry of peoples.'" 1 Origins of the World Federation for Mental Health

1946. The United States joined UNESCO. According to Charlotte Iserbyt, "this legislation was accompanied by President Harry Truman's remarkable statement: 'Education must establish the moral unity of mankind.' Truman's recommendation was bolstered by General Brock Chisholm, a... friend of Soviet agent Alger Hiss. Chisholm... presented a paper entitled The Psychiatry of Enduring Peace and Social Progress  Iserbyt
   Ponder Chisholm's words:
"The responsibility for charting the necessary changes in human behavior rests clearly on the sciences working in that field. Psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, economists, and politicians must face this responsibility....
"Can we identify the reasons why we fight wars...? Many of them are easy to list --prejudice, isolationism, the ability to emotionally and uncritically to believe unreasonable things....
"The only psychological force capable of producing these perversions is morality, the concept of right and wrong...   For many generations we have bowed our necks to the yoke of the conviction of sin.
Individuals who have emotional disabilities of their own, guilts, fears, inferiorities, are certain to project their hates on to others... They are a very real menace... Whatever the cost, we must learn to live in friendliness and peace with... all the people in the world...."
"There is something to be said... for gently putting aside the mistaken old ways of our elders if that is possible. If it cannot be done gently, it may have to be done roughly or even violently....
"Can such a program of re-education... be charted?"8
1946. Dr. Sullivan, US psychiatrist and army major, published the above message by Brock Chisholm in his journal, Psychiatry:
"Alger Hiss, a Communist spy and the publisher of International Conciliation published the same paper by his friend, Dr. Chisholm, in his own journal. Hiss, then president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, wrote the Preface to Chisholm's paper. Iserbyt

1946 or 1947. (Both dates have been cited) Tavistock Institute of Human Relations is formed as an independent not-for-profit organization -- with a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation, which "was interested in seeing if the kind of social psychiatry that had been developed during World War II could be relevant for the civilian society."
It would own the journal Human Relations. "Canadian-born psychologist and social analyst Elliott Jacques.... was the man who first identified the midlife crisis... Jaques was... a founder member of the Tavistock Institute." 9 http://education.guardian.co.uk/obituary/story/0,12212,934548,00.html

1947. Articles of Association for the World Federation for Mental Health were written. Rees (Tavistock) had already established preparatory groups in many countries. US participants included members of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry (GAP) led by recent Brigadier General William Menninger. They were sensitive to the new organization’s definition of purpose: "To promote among all peoples and nations the highest possible level of mental health....in its broadest biological, medical, educational, and social aspects."1
The official  WFMH website website describes its vision: "a world in which mental health is a priority for all people. Public policies and programs reflect the crucial importance of mental health in the lives of individuals, families and communities, and in the political and economic stability of the world."
1948 (July/August) "Canadian social psychologist Otto Klineberg, M.D., Ph.D. and others... were joined by Chisholm, social scientists such as Margaret Mead (the federation’s second U.S. president) ...in an international commission convened at Sullivan’s suggestion. It produced the new federation’s founding document, Mental Health and World Citizenship." 1

1948. (August 21) The Third International Congress of Mental Hygiene met in London. Here, the International Committee for Mental Hygiene is replaced by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH).  It would "enjoy consultative relationship with several UN agencies and... national groups."10  Its founding document, Mental Health and World Citizenship, was adopted. It stated, “Principles of mental health cannot be successfully furthered in any society unless there is progressive acceptance of the concept of world citizenship." The ultimate goal of mental health is to help people "live with their fellows in one world." See also "The UN Plan for Your Mental Health"
1948. The World Health Organization is founded with Brock Chisholm as its first Director-General.

1948. "Professors B. F. Skinner and Alfred C. Kinsey published their books, Walden Two and Sexual Behavior in the Human Male, respectively. Skinner's novel, Walden Two, recommended - amongst other radical things - that 'children be reared by the state, to be trained from birth to demonstrate only desirable characteristics and behavior.'
"Kinsey, as a taxonomic scientist, wrested human sexuality from the constraints of love and marriage in order to advance the grand scheme to move America and the world toward the eugenic future envisioned by the elite scientists of the 'New Biology,'...
"In 1953 Professor Skinner published Science and Human Behavior in which he said, "Operant conditioning shapes behavior as a sculptor shapes a lump of clay.'...
"Kinsey and Bloom, as scientists, were involved in the breaking down of man (taxonomizing) into units of behavior which Skinner, as a behaviorist, could identify, measure and change. This breaking down or 'deconstructing of Man' was intended to separate man from his God-given, freedom-providing identity. This opened the door to the study of methods to control man and society." Iserbyt

1948. The National Institutes of Mental Health was founded under the leadership of Psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Felix. Dr Felix "was also the Director of a Lexington, Kentucky drug addiction center, which carried out LSD experiments on African American inmates who were drug addicted. The experiments involved LSD and a variety of other hallucinogens, marijuana and poisons."4 Null?

1950. (September): "God's plan in America" by C. William Smith is published in the Masonic magazine, New Age, includes this statement: "Great God our King has chosen the great American Public Schools to pave the way for the new race, the new region and the new civilization that is taking place in America. Any mother, father or guardian who is responsible for the taking away of the freedom of mind, freedom of will or freedom of spirit is the lowest criminal on earth, because they take away from that child the God-given right to become a part of God's great plan in America for the dawn of the new Age of the world."2 Cuddy, 26

1953.  Bertrand Russell, The Impact of Science on Society: "...the subject which will be of most importance politically is Mass Psychology.... The populace will not be allowed to know how its convictions were generated. When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for a generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen. As yet there is only one country which has succeeded in creating this politician’s paradise.”11

1955. "Congress passed the Mental Health Study Act mandating the appointment of a commission to make recommendations for combating the scourge of mental illness in the United States.  It is impossible to exaggerate the enthusiasm with which psychiatrists created this legislation. Their euphoria was justified.  In effect the act ratified the recasting of the very nature of the American government changing its primary duty from protecting and promoting personal liberty and property to protecting and promoting the mental health of citizens and the community as a whole."4 Nul ?

1959. (March): An article by Dr. James D. Carter, "Why stand ye here idle?," published in the Masonic magazine, New Age, stated that "Masonic philosophy" which brought about "a new order" became a reality by "the establishment of the public school system, financed by the State, for the combined purpose of technological and sociological education of the mass of humanity, beginning at an early age in childhood."2Cuddy 33

1960. Dr. Lewis Alesen, former surgeon and president of California Medical Association: "The proponents of the mental health program have been quick to elaborate a series of legislative proposals.... This is the age-old subterfuge of the collectivist, whose only solution for any problem, be it economic, social or political, is the passage of another law, the imposition of another tax, and the establishment of another bureau." 12
1963. Community Mental Health Centers Program established
1977. Futures We Are In by Fred Emery, a senior staff member at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, is published. According to Dr. Dennis Cuddy, Emery had "developed a theory of 'social turbulence' which indicates that faced with a series of crises, many individuals will attempt to reduce the tension by adaptation and eventually psychological retreat. This can lead to social disintegration."
"In an earlier book, "Children of Change," Emery showed how television effects children. Since children tend to absorb rather than analyze information, "conscious functioning is impaired" and they become indifferent -- "more like 'sheep' than 'people'." He wrote, "In other words, television can be seen partly as a technological analogue of the hypnotist." Writing in Human Relations (August 1959), he said, "The psychological after-effects of television are of considerable interest to the would-be social engineer."2 Cuddy 61.

1979. Supported by the Rockefeller Foundation, the National Institute of Education and the U.S. Department of Education, Schooling for  A Global Age is published. In the Preface, John Goodlad wrote: "Enlightened social engineering is required to face situations that demand global action now. Education is a long-term solution.... Parents and the general public must be reached also... Otherwise, children and youth enrolled in globally oriented programs may find themselves in conflict with values assumed in the home. And then the educational institution frequently comes under scrutiny and must pull back."2 Cuddy 65.

1987. Among the notable members of the Study Commission on Global Education were (then) Governor Bill Clinton, AFT president Albert Shanker, Professor John Goodlad, CFAT (Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching) president Ernest Boyer, and Frank Newman, president of the Education Commission of the States. Together, they prepared a report titled The United States Prepares for Its Future: Global Perspectives in Education. The Rockefeller, Ford and Exxon Foundations helped fund this report. In the Foreword, New Ager Harlan Cleveland, author of The Third Try at World Order, wrote:
"A dozen years ago... teaching and learning 'in global perspective' was still exotic doctrine, threatening the orthodoxies of those who still thought of American citizenship as an amalgam of American history, American geography, American lifestyles and American ideas.... It now seems almost conventional to speak of American citizenship in the same breath with international interdependence and the planetary environment."13
1998 : Surgeon-General David Satcher, speaking at the National Healthy People Consortium: "We have a clear blueprint in place. ... Currently, 47 states are actively involved in Healthy People 2000 and 'Healthy City and Healthy Community' initiatives are being pursued throughout the country. Hundreds of national organizations have reviewed the Year 2000 objectives and have adopted them as their own. ...
"No priority yet has generated as much interest and enthusiasm as this one on mental health..."
"...our efforts will be focused on maintaining a system of global health surveillance," he continued. "Healthy People 2010 is the United States' contribution to the World Health Organization's call to the nations of the world to renew their commitment to health for all." 14
1999. (No date on page) "Nations for Mental Health:  "Governments will be assisted to formulate, implement, monitor and evaluate mental health policies...." These “policies should enable all individuals whose mental health is disturbed or whose psychological balance may be compromised to obtain services adapted to their needs, and to promote the optimal development of the mental health of the population."15
2001  World Mental Health: "...the World Health Organization has proclaimed that World Health Day, April 7, will be a day of advocacy dedicated to mental health issues."16

2001 (July 22-27). World Congress for Mental Health convened together with the 26th Conference of the World Federation for Mental Health in Vancouver, July 22-27. Pirkko Lahti was appointed the Secretary General/CEO of the WFMH  & manager of the Secretariat (until Preston Garrison would be appointed in September 2002).
Allan Rock, Canada's Minister of Health, said, "...the World Health Organization has devoted both World Health Day 2001 and its Annual Report to mental health....There's the immeasurable toll of social exclusion, creating barriers and limiting us all....
"...one of the recurring themes in our approach to mental health is a commitment to the principles of population health – to looking at the broad range of factors to nurture healthy citizens. Mental health, in particular, is multi-faceted, its determinants so diverse and its promotion so dependent on variables beyond the traditional health care system, that dialogue across disciplines is essential. ...And sometimes the greatest obstacles before us are the attitudes we face. Education is key to changing those attitudes. But so too is a full appreciation of the factors that contribute to mental health."17

2001. (September) Secretary General Pirkko Lahti, speaking at the WFMH conference in Beirut, says, "...mental health is not only psychiatry; it includes also economic, social, psychological, medical and environmental elements....The World Federation for Mental Health, where I act as president at the moment, is represented in about 130 countries. We have nine regions, each of them having a vice president or a regional president. The World Federation for Mental Health works in co-operation with the United Nations, the World Health Organization WHO, Unesco and the labour organization ILO."18

2002 (April 29): President George W. Bush added his support to this massive network by signing an Executive Order titled, "President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health."  It established a commission which bound the Departments of Health and Human Services, Education and Labor together in a common quest for "the desired outcomes of mental health care, which are to attain each individual's maximum level of employment, self-care, interpersonal relationships, and community participation."19 See Legalizing Mind Control
2002 (March 1) France Passes Controversial Anti-Cult Law: "Passing a controversial anti-cult law, France embarked on what some feared was a trend to restrict and oversee religious movements. And several other European governments may follow suit."

2002 (October 21) The Bible as 'hate literature'? "A prison sentence for quoting the Bible in Canada? Holy Scriptures treated as 'hate literature'?' ...Canadians advance bill that chills speech about homosexuality."

2002 (10 October) World Mental Health Day. Focus on the "identification, treatment and prevention of emotional and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents."
The goal of the World Health Organization (WHO) is the “attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health”.
Health as defined in WHO’s constitution is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity”. As the premier specialized agency of the United Nations for health, WHO promotes technical cooperation for health among nations, implements programs to control and eradicate disease and strives to improve the quality of human life." World Mental Health Day 2002 - What you can do
2003 (March): From the Chief Executive, New Zealand : "... the Foundation hosted Michael Murray, CEO of the Clifford Beers Foundation and Editor of the International Journal of Mental Health Promotion. Michael was the keynote speaker at our one-day forum on Mentally Healthy Workplaces in Auckland, NZ. He has been involved in workplace health programmes in Canada and the UK and offered valuable information on this important mental health promotion setting.... Organised by the World Federation for Mental Health, the Clifford Beers Foundation, the Carter Center and the Mental Health Foundation, this will be the first time the conference has been held in Oceania." 20

2003 (June 10): "Sweden Moves to Criminalize Opposition to Homosexuality." "The Swedish government is moving toward prohibiting Christians from voicing biblical positions on issues.... The Swedish Parliament has moved to within one step of changing the nation’s constitution to ban speech or materials opposing homosexuality and any other alternate lifestyles. If the amendment becomes reality, violators could be subject to prison sentences."
2003 (June 12-14) WFMH Collaborating Center -- The Society for Prevention Research -- holds annual meeting. in Wash. DC.

2003 (August  U.N. group in 'showdown with religion': ""Buoyed by growing political acceptance of homosexuals worldwide, a United Nations group promoting 'gay' and lesbian rights met in New York to sharpen a multi-pronged strategy that includes a 'showdown with religion.' The meeting was sponsored by the U.N. Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Employees, known as UNGLOBE, a group officially recognized by the worldwide body in 1996..... At a forum Monday, attended briefly by U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, panel members singled out Roman Catholics and evangelical Protestants as opponents.... Princeton University professor Anthony Appiah, wondered whether or not religion should be limited, as it poses a 'challenge' to the homosexual agenda...."

2004 (May 26 – 28, 2004 Quebec City): 12th Annual Meeting “Crossing Borders: Linking Prevention Science, Policy and Practice” Ray Peters, one of SPR's Canadian members, is chair of the 2004 Conference Program Planning Committee. Mentioned in WFMH, 1st Quarter 2003.
Mission: "The Society for Prevention Research is an international organization focused upon the advancement of science-based prevention programs and policies through empirical research. The membership of the organization includes scientists, practitioners, advocates, administrators, and policy makers who are concerned with the prevention of social, physical and mental health problems and the promotion of health, safety, and well-being."

"The common enemy of humanity is man.
In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up
with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming,
water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these
dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through
changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome.
The real enemy then, is humanity itself."

"We need to get some broad based support,
to capture the public's imagination...
So we have to offer up scary scenarios,
make simplified, dramatic statements
and make little mention of any doubts...
Each of us has to decide what the right balance
is between being effective and being honest."
- Prof. Stephen Schneider,
Stanford Professor of Climatology,
lead author of many IPCC reports

"We've got to ride this global warming issue.
Even if the theory of global warming is wrong,
we will be doing the right thing in terms of
economic and environmental policy."

climate change provides the greatest opportunity to
bring about justice and equality in the world."

"We are on the verge of a global transformation.
All we need is the right major crisis..."
- David Rockefeller,
Club of Rome executive member

"Humanity is sitting on a time bomb. If the vast majority of the
world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a
major catastrophe that could send our entire planet's climate system
into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods,
droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have
ever experienced - a catastrophe of our own making."
- Al Gore,

environmental destruction all over the earth."
- Al Gore,

"In Nature organic growth proceeds according
to a Master Plan, a Blueprint. Such a ‘master plan’ is
missing from the process of growth and development of
the world system. Now is the time to draw up a master plan for
sustainable growth and world development based on global
allocation of all resources and a new global economic system.

"We need a new paradigm of development in
which the environment will be a priority.
World civilization as we know it will soon end.
We have very little time and we must act.

new paradigm. We have to change our mindset,
the way humankind views the world."

indeed a sacred principle of international relations.
It is a principle which will yield only slowly and reluctantly to
the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation."
- UN Commission on Global Governance report

"Democracy is not a panacea. It cannot organize everything and
it is unaware of its own limits. These facts must be faced squarely.
Sacrilegious though this may sound, democracy is no longer well
suited for the tasks ahead. The complexity and the technical nature

representatives to make competent decisions at the right time."
- Club of Rome,
The First Global Revolution

"The emerging 'environmentalization' of our civilization
and the need for vigorous action in the interest of the entire global

They lay the foundation for a sustainable
global earth community."
- Mikhail Gorbachev,
co-author of The Earth Charter

"In my view, after fifty years of service in the United Nations system,
I perceive the utmost urgency and absolute necessity for proper
Earth government. There is no shadow of a doubt that the present
political and economic systems are no longer appropriate
and will lead to the end of life evolution on this planet.
We must therefore absolutely and urgently look for new ways."

"We require a central organizing principle - one agreed to voluntarily.
Minor shifts in policy, moderate improvement in laws and regulations,

"Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound
reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world

of every human action be integrated into individual and
collective decision-making at every level."

"The current course of development is thus clearly unsustainable.
Current problems cannot be solved by piecemeal measures.
More of the same is not enough. Radical change from the

From Freedom to Servitude - Part 1
The Power and Perversions of Laws
By Berit Kjos - March 27, 2009

"Watching the markets... two interlocking phrases immediately come to mind: Ordo ab Chaos, and Crisis Equals Opportunity. Ordo ab Chaos is a Latin phrase and the motto of the Thirty-Third Degree of Freemasonry.[1] It means, 'Order out of Chaos.'”[2] Carl Teichrib

"Never waste a good crisis." Hillary Clinton [see video]

"...the financial crisis will lead to the creation of a global central bank and a global single currency within 15 years."[3] Stephen Gallo

“Once a nation parts with control of its currency and credit, it matters not who makes that nation’s laws.”[4]  W.L. Mackenzie King [former Prime Minister of Canada]

"I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God... and the curse, if you do not obey...." Deuteronomy 11:26-28

During the Nazi occupation of Norway (1939-1945), my father joined the Norwegian resistance movement and was willing to die for his country. But when the post-war years brought creeping socialism, he became increasingly disillusioned. Finally he chose to immigrate to America, which shone like a beacon of freedom and opportunity across Europe's war-torn lands.

Entering New York's harbor some years later, we gazed in awe at the Statue of Liberty. But even as we ate our first hamburger soon afterwards, America was  changing. Dwight D. Eisenhower, our war-time hero, was now president. John Foster Dulles -- a founding member of the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) -- was his Secretary of State.

Like most Americans, we had no idea what was happening "behind the scenes." We didn't know that Dulles had been a Trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation -- or that he collaborated with Alger Hiss, an active member of the Communist Party, and had helped draft the preamble to the UN Charter back in 1945.[5]

Nor did we realize that our Secretary of State had chaired a 1942 Federal (later renamed National) Council of Churches conference. In an article titled Conforming the Church to the New Millennium, I summarized the conference report. While Hitler's armies were ravaging Europe, the Council used that devastating crisis as an opportunity to promote its agenda:

a world government of delegated powers
immediate limitations on national sovereignty
a [single] democratically controlled international bank
a universal system of money
worldwide freedom of immigration
even distribution of the world’s natural wealth.[6]
Does that sound familiar? Apparently that last point didn't originate with Obama!  Even Time magazine was shocked! Here's its summary of the report:
“Some of the conference’s economic opinions were almost as sensational as the extreme internationalism of its political program. It held that a ‘new order of economic life is both imminent and imperative' – a new order that is sure to come either ‘through voluntary cooperation within the framework of democracy or through explosive political revolution.’”[7]
Considering Alger Hiss' influence within the Council of Churches and friendship with Dulles [See note], it shouldn't surprise us. His Marxist goals fit right into a church establishment already infiltrated with socialist ideology.[8]  In spite of his Marxist aims, he served President Roosevelt both in the State Department and as his adviser at the 1945 Yalta Peace Conference, where much of eastern Europe was handed over to Stalin. His leftist ideology may even have prompted his assignment as the Secretary General of the United Nations Charter Conference in 1945 -- and, later, as president of the multimillion dollar Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.[9]

In our UN Chronology, you can follow the hidden threads toward world government. Notice that today's radical "change" simply means that we are nearing the completion of goals set long ago. As President Thomas Jefferson said,

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms [of government] those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”[10]

It's true! Unscrupulous leaders have traded the solid guidelines of our Constitution for evolving laws that conform to global standards and human greed. Since the Constitution was written for a nation that valued God's moral guidelines, it crumbled under the pressures of power-hungry globalists, financial transnationalists, and the deceptive promises of pragmatic socialists. They all saw God's unchanging Truth as an obstacle to their success.

To understand this radical shift, let's take a closer look at the three sets of laws that have influenced this nation -- both for good and evil.

1. Our Constitution with its Promise of Freedom

Whether Christian or not, most of our nation's founders based the Constitution on God's moral law. They knew that freedom to follow God would be essential to future prosperity.

In his 1796 Farewell Address, George Washington exposed the main threats to the authority of the Constitution:

"Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion [i.e. Christianity] and Morality are indispensable supports. ...[V]irtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government."[11]

Washington concluded with warning about the "mischiefs of foreign intrigue," the lure of "imaginary common interest," and the consequences of failure to "prevent our nation from running the course, which has hitherto marked the destiny of nations." In other words, if we don't follow God's ways and guard the foundations of this nation, it will be destroyed -- just like the Roman empire.

2. Evolving Laws and Global Treaties (See Total transformation)

True to socialist ideology, our current administration seems determined to control every aspect of life: speech, beliefs and values, education, food, health care, money, the way we serve God or each other, etc. May we, like the early disciples, have the courage and strength to "obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)

Most of us are familiar with the various new bills (omnibus, stimulus, budget, etc.) loaded with earmarks that Obama had promised to purge. Costing taxpayers trillions, they seemed designed to deepen, not resolve, the current financial crisis.

But that apparent fiasco fits the plans of socialist change agents such as Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. They -- like Obama four decades later -- knew how to engineer a crisis that would 'force change through chaos.'[12] Former federal prosecutor James H. Walsh explains their Marxist manipulations:

"Cloward and Piven held that poor people can only advance when society is afraid of them.... Their strategy to create political, financial, and social chaos that would result in revolution blended Alinsky concepts with their more aggressive efforts at bringing about a change in U.S. government. To achieve their revolutionary aims, Cloward and Piven sought to use a cadre of aggressive [community] organizers assisted by friendly news media to force a re-distribution of the nation’s wealth.....

"New York Mayor Rudy Guiliani called the Cloward-Piven Strategy 'an effort at economic sabotage.'.... Cloward and Piven were joined over the years by nouveau billionaires led by George Soros. Through his Democracy Alliance, they funded ACORN.....

"On the horizon are proposed taxes led by the Obama-sponsored Global Poverty Act that would tax every U.S. man, woman, and child $2,500 for a total of $845 billion to help the United Nations eliminate global poverty. The goal remains the same, to redistribute the wealth of the nation."[13]

In other words, social engineering is changing America along with the rest of the world! For example, Obama's Global Poverty Act calls for communitarian partnerships between the --

      1. Public sector (government, which writes the laws and sets the standards)
      2. Private sector (business, which supplies resources)
      3. Social sector (civil society, especially churches, which provide human servers trained in political correctness).
This three-legged system would be governed by globalist elites. Unlike communism, such a communitarian system would allow people to "own" their property, but both ownership and ideology would be governed, assessed and tracked through laws and regulations based on unthinkable global standards aimed at worldwide social solidarity. After all, Obama has agreed to "stepped up US-UN cooperation."[14]

Our old Constitution-based laws are rapidly being replaced by new laws that end virtually every freedom that we have treasured. This transformational legal system fits the UN's rising body of international laws as well as the 67-year-old vision of John Foster Dulles. But is this what Americans want? Or are most people too distracted by entertainment and Huxley's "feelies" to notice? Take a look at the road ahead:

a socialist world government to "coordinate" the crisis and guide the solution [See The emerging New World Order]

drastic limitations on national sovereignty [UNESCO's War Against National Sovereignty]

a [single] democratically controlled international bank and a universal system of money. [One World, One Money]

open borders and global migration based on UN decrees. [The UN Plan for Global Migration]

redistribution of the world’s wealth. [Smiling at Socialism & Scorning the Bible][15]

In this new system, "We, the people" of America will no longer count. Our government -- elected to serve us -- will become our 'masters.' Ashley Mote (an independent member of the European Parliament) shows us what happened in Europe, the model for the other planned "regions" under the UN:

"Even the EU's public face - the unelected commission - is part of the charade. Power does not lie with them. It lies with the senior staff running their departments.... We do not know what their budgets are, how they are financed, or who approves their costs. Indeed, we do not even know what powers they have been given, nor by whom.... The other 24 commissioners, each appointed by the other member states... are figure-heads. They take the flak in the public arena, and make announcements decided for them by their senior staff, with the guidance of the secret committees....

"The European Parliament sits below this vast superstructure... designed to create an illusion of accountable democracy. A condescending pat on the head for voters held in contempt.... In effect, the left has said to the multinationals: you can have your markets stitched up for you, if we can indulge ourselves in endless social engineering. Big business has agreed. The result is a largely supportive parliament both from the left and right of the political divide. The 'Americas' is moving in the same direction!"[16]

3. God's Unchanging Law and Judgments

The old Christianized Europe leads the way. Rejecting its Christian foundations, it has filled its spiritual vacuum with forces far greater than it can control without total repression. Ponder this recent example:

"A few years ago, the left-wing London Guardian newspaper called Sweden the most successful society the world has ever known. But Sweden today is being rocked by a large influx of Muslim immigrants.... Wide-open immigration policies... have made Malmo, which is now one-quarter Muslim, one of the most racially divided cities in Europe. Most Muslim immigrants are concentrated in one district, where the male unemployment rate is 82 percent. Crime affects one of three families in the city and rape has tripled in 20 years.... In one housing project in the district, fire and emergency workers will no longer enter without police protection.

"Malmo has been so accommodating toward immigrant Muslims that a local Muslim politician and imam has even declared, 'The best Islamic state is Sweden!'... Right-wing Swedish Democrats, who support limits on immigration, have been stigmatized by the left-wing Swedish media as fascist and bigoted.... 'I think the best prediction is that Sweden will have a Muslim majority by 2049, so we know where that country’s going.”[17]

America is marching to the same tune -- right into the embrace of the planned world government.

While most Americans still call themselves Christian, few can define the gospel or explain the holy character of the God they claim to know. Churches have replaced Biblical Truth with energizing entertainment, and Biblically illiterate members are being trained to follow group consensus, not the Word and ways of our sovereign God.

At a time such as this, we ought to "tremble at [God's] Word' [Isaiah 66:2] and fall on our faces before Him! For unlike us, our mighty Lord doesn't change! His laws are operational as well as eternal. The world may ignore them, but it can't escape the consequences. As He told us through Moses over three thousand years ago:
"...when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them... your heart is lifted up and you forget the Lord your God. ... you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’
"...if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods... you shall surely perish. As the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your God." Deuteronomy 8:10-20

Demonstrating a patience that far exceeds mine, he told His beloved Israel, “'In returning and rest you shall be saved. But you would not." The rebellious people refused his gracious invitation. (Isaiah 30:15) So has most of the Western world.

Today that call still rings out: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:2Cool What will we answer?

"I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved." Psalm 16:8

"Service Learning" through Soviet Brainwashing
By Berit Kjos - April 20, 2009

"Lenin outlined a program for an active participation by both children and adolescents in the building of socialism.... Socially useful work should serve as a school of collectivism."[1] Nadezhda Krupskaya, Lenin's widow and fellow-revolutionary

"...expand and strengthen service-learning programs through year-round opportunities ... in order to renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community for children and youth throughout the United States."[2] Serve America Act (GIVE, H.R.1388), signed into law on April 21.

"Brainwashing is a system of befogging the brain so a person can be seduced into acceptance of what otherwise would be abhorrent to him. ... Facts and fancy whirl round and change places."[3] Edward Hunter, Brainwashing

"O our God... we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." 2 Chronicles 20:12

Last March, North Dakota gave us a heart-warming demonstration of traditional voluntary service -- in minus 20 degree weather. As the rising Red River threatened to flood Fargo, willing volunteers gathered by the thousands. Before long, they had filled and stacked over 2 million sandbags to barricade the city against the raging waters. Christians prayed for victory over the forces of nature, and by God's grace, the make-shift dikes held.

About 6,000 volunteers of all ages had simply followed their conscience, worked together and met the need. Unlike President Obama's plan for government-directed "service," neither prayer nor God's comforting Truths were banned. Volunteers weren't hindered by trained facilitators and unconscionable boundaries. As the flood subsided, they were free to thank God together for the amazing victory.

Traditional American volunteerism and self-giving service has served people around the world. But it may soon be replaced with a government system of mandatory service and re-education for all ages. Obama's signature on H.R. 1388 "Serve America Act," [See 2] will usher in a new era. While people of all ages will be recruited, the main focus will be on the youth. Words such as "uniforms," "youth corps," campuses" and "boarding" [i.e. "grouped together as appropriate in campuses for operational, support, and boarding purposes" SEC. 1516] bring memories of totalitarian government-controlled youth service.[4]

"Service learning" -- the heart of this evolving program -- is grounded in Soviet ideology. Banning Biblical sharing, it reflects Communism's "dialectical materialism" and notorious "re-education" camps. Its basic formula is simple:

1. Immersion into a group [collective] environment with diverse beliefs and values. For decades, our government has been guiding migration and assessing cities on their success in building "unity in diversity," i.e. social capital."[5]   Such facilitated oneness may sound benign, but the manipulative methods used to build socialist values undermine both personal freedom and family-taught convictions.

2. Dialogue led by facilitators trained to manipulate the diverse groups of servers (with their assortment of values) toward a new consensus. Edward Hunter's 1956 book, Brainwashing, gives us this glimpse of Communist mind control,

"They went about this in the 'democratic discussion' manner; this was the new principle of unanimity [i.e. consensus] ....  What was truth anyway? Nobody knew. What was false? ... Everyone couldn't be wrong. Could they? Weren't they all one team? A collectivity?"[6]

3. Practice (practical experience) that seals the dialectical group teaching in the minds of idealistic servers. Lenin understood this formula well. He said,

"...the young people shall engage in the practical solution of some problem of labour in common.'"[1]

The Soviet History of Service Learning

Today the seeds of Soviet ideology are sprouting across America. Truth, facts, logic and discernment fade -- drowned by a flood of mind-dulling, time-stealing trivia and distraction and choked by the tempting tentacles of dialectical compromise.

Lenin's Soviet education system was largely organized by Nadezhda Krupskaya, his personal companion, "co-worker," biographer, and "the founder of Soviet pedagogics." In her book, On Labor Oriented Education and Instruction, Krupskaya describes the roots of Soviet mind control:

"Lenin... said that the young generation should evolve a new, communist morality that would subordinate personal interests to general ones... that the younger generation should know how to achieve solidarity in their struggle.... Being a member of the Youth League means devoting one's labor and effort to the common cause...."

"The joint work of children should be particularly valued because it is the embryo of collective labor. ... If we attribute an educational role to socially useful work, then all children must be involved in it."

"...voluntary labour, irrespective of quotas, is labor performed without expectation of reward.... performed because it has become a habit to work for the common good."[1]

Remember, all Communist/Socialist labor was government controlled. Private enterprise and personal initiative were quenched, and all were forced to submit to the government-defined "common good." Within decades, Biblical morality had been replaced by sexual license and moral depravity, and personal despair.

After the second World War, young John Noble was trapped in the Soviet gulag system. Though an innocent American citizen, he was sentenced to hard labor in an arctic slave camp. Miraculously freed after a decade, he wrote the book, I Found God in Soviet Russia, which showed the sad reality behind socialist idealism:

"The young man and his wife were both fanatical Communists, graduates of the Communist Youth Movement where he had been a leader. They had both gone to youth camps from the age of fourteen. These Soviet youth camps are not conducted for recreation but involve hard work by young 'volunteers'....

"There is marked relaxation of sexual restraints in this atmosphere and many illegitimate children are born from the casual couplings of such summer youth camp excursions.... [These] children are raised to be zealous, dedicated Communists....They have no ties but their loyalty to the State, no allegiance to God or family, no principles to stand in the way of their performing any assignment given them.
"...children are also taught in school that they must constantly be on the lookout for 'reactionaries' [like America's 'right-wing extremists'?] and, further, must report any neighbor who talks against Communism or acts suspiciously, even if this may come to involve their own parents."[7]

Service Learning in America

The American version of service-learning was planned by socialist educator John Dewey almost a century ago. His formula, like Lenin's, is simple: affective learning (based on feelings rather than facts), followed by dialogue and group experience that helped seal the information in young minds. [See Chronology of the NEA]

Back in 1958, concerned congressmen invited Edward Hunter, an American expert on Communist brainwashing, to testify before the Committee on Un-American Activities in the House of Representatives. The Congressional transcript includes this testimony:

“I spent 30 years, a little bit more perhaps, in countries under various forms of Communist pressure and attack.  What I am witnessing in America is no different from what I saw in those other countries. ...

“I see, primarily, as part of this softening up process in America, the liquidation of our attitudes on what we used to recognize as right and wrong, what we used to accept as absolute moral standards.  We now confuse moral standards with the sophistication of dialectical materialism, with a Communist... theology which teaches that everything changes, and that what is right or wrong, good or bad, changes as well. ... There is no such thing as truth or a lie....

“The objective of Communist warfare is to capture intact the minds of the people and their possessions, so they can be put to use. This is the modern conception of slavery."[8]

Hunter's book, Brainwashing, reflects his interviews with victims of the Chinese "education reform." These survivors were trained through cruel but sophisticated "brainwashing" tactics to betray their nation, embrace socialism, "confess" lies, and serve the Communist propaganda machine.

Hunter described how each new "consensus" destroyed the victim's factual basis for resistance. And as minds were purged of Biblical hope and traditional values, unquestioning compliance became the norm:

"The long-range objective of brainwashing is to win converts who can be depended on to react as desired at any time anywhere. This is the inside-out meaning they give the word voluntary.... Even when he stands by himself, the truly indoctrinated communist must be part of the collective. He must be incapable of hearing opposing ideas and facts, no matter how convincing or how forcibly they bombard his senses. A trustworthy communist must react in an automatic manner without any force being applied. Only then is he the 'new Soviet man'..."[9]

It's happening today! Most American youth have abandoned the factual discernment that characterized America in the past. In many families, this change has already accomplished a socialist goal: to separate children from the traditional values of their parents or grandparents.

In 1971, fifteen years after Hunter wrote Brainwashing, Saul Alinsky's revolutionary manual, Rules for Radicals, was published. Alinsky, whose socialist disciples mentored Barack Obama, prepared the blueprint for the radical "community organizers" of the last three decades. He knew that "common involvements, "facilitated by "community organizers" such as Obama, would build the needed relationships:

"One of the factors that changes what you can and can't communicate is relationships. There are sensitive areas that one does not touch until there is a strong personal relationship based on common involvements. Otherwise the other party turns off and literally does not hear...."[10]
By 1992, American leaders were set to implement this system as part of mandatory education. In a letter to Hillary Clinton, America's First Lady,  Marc Tucker, President of the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) wrote:

"We think the great opportunity you have is to remold the entire American system for human resources development....  What is essential is that we create a seamless web of opportunities, to develop one's skills that literally extends from cradle to grave and is the same system for everyone... regulated on the basis of outcomes that providers produce for their clients, not inputs into the system."[12]

The word "outcome" reflects a planned result that's essential to social transformation. Continual assessments help refine the process. [See Reinventing the World]

Mandatory or Voluntary?

The original version of H.R. 1388 included a statement about developing "a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people." It was deleted. Perhaps the word "mandatory" stirred up too much criticism. In any case, those exact words had simply been moved to H.R. 1444, a less conspicuous bill. It states,

SEC. 4. DUTIES  (b) ...In carrying out its general purpose under subsection (a), the Commission shall address and analyze the following specific topics:
(6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds."[13]
In any case, service learning will be mandatory for schools and institutions that receive government funding. The financial strings attached to this program will guarantee nation-wide participation from the start.
Many have wondered if H.R.1388 would include the Civilian Security Force that Barack Obama mentioned in a campaign speech in Colorado Springs. "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set," he said on July 2, 2008. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."[14]
Who would be the targets of such a civilian militia? What kind of domestic violence does he expect?

The Department of Homeland Security may have answered that question. On April 7, Secretary Janet Napolitano released a report titled "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." Suggesting that violence could erupt from "right-wing," anti-abortion, and "lone wolf extremists" as well as veterans, and others who are unhappy with today's government, it raised questions about the potential use of a civilian militia to silence concerned "resisters" across America.

Such intentional vilification of ordinary Americans reminds me of Hitler's shrewd strategy:

"The art of truly great popular leaders in all ages has consisted chiefly in... concentrating always on a single adversary.... It is part of a great leader's genius to make even widely separated adversaries appear as if they belonged to one category..."[15]

No "free speech" for "voluntary" servers?

Like Obama's Faith-Based Partnerships, this Serve America Act includes prohibitions that limit both speech and expressions of faith. Notice how God's timeless call to be a witness of His love is now summarized in negative word often used to vilify Christianity around the world:

(a) Prohibited Activities - An approved national service position under this subtitle may not be used for the following activities:
(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts...
(5) Engaging in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the outcome of an election.... [that only seems to apply to those who might criticize the administration]
(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services... constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship.... or engaging in any form of proselytization...."[2]

Through the ages, Christians have been faced with a common choice: Follow the crowd and culture -- or take a stand on your convictions. What will you choose?

"...as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

From Freedom to Servitude - Part 3
Deceit, Delusion and the Destruction of America
By Berit Kjos - June 8, 2009

"...a concentration of world evil, of hatred for humanity is taking place and it is fully determined to destroy your society."[1] "Communism: A Legacy of Terror" by the respected Russian author, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, 1976.

"The Social Sciences will concern themselves with the rationalization of social control... the control of human behavior."[2] Rockefeller Foundation president Max Mason

"The federal government is likely within weeks to emerge as the principal owner of a storied U.S. corporation.... It will simultaneously serve as the company's regulator, tax collector, customer, pension backstop and lender."[3] Wall Street Journal

"We don't have to invade Iraq to find terrorists. They're right here.... Dr. Tiller is dead by an anti-abortion assassin, and this is the absolutely inevitable consequence of 35 years of anti-abortion fanatic rhetoric and intimidation...."[4] "Late-term abortion doctor decries Tiller killing"

"O our God... we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." 2 Chronicles 20:12

Obama didn't lie when he promised CHANGE. He just didn't define it. Nor did he explain the basis for his HOPE. Today, with a bit of hindsight, the fog is lifting and we see the immediate future more clearly. Both words imply a shift away from the foundational truths and values of America. As Communist nations have determined, man's hope must rest in a useful worldly vision, not in the disturbing distraction of the Biblical God or other-worldly heaven.

Today, CHANGE and HOPE point to a New World Order -- a virtual utopia where the masses would eventually enjoy peace, pluralism, parity and the promise of universal welfare. Both slogans serve as bait to draw the masses into a web of deception.

As in Orwell's Animal Farm, today's spreading tentacles of Marxian socialism imply two classes of people: the equally poor masses and their wealthy "more equal" rulers. While the latter reign in luxury, the equally poor (new "middle class") may struggle to feed their families. [See box]

A recent article in the Russian Pravda titled "American capitalism gone with a whimper" has been spreading a somber view of this nation. Unlike its old Soviet-era namesake, this new Pravda may actually be telling the truth. It reminds us that the current transformation, which has now become all too visible, actually began long ago. Most of its message can be verified, as you will see in the links and facts that follow these excerpts:

"...the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple.... The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was.... Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

"First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture.... Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their 'right' to choke down a McDonalds burger... than for their constitutional rights....

"Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches... were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the 'winning' side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another....

"The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. ... His spending and money printing has been record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe....

"These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters.

"The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world how free he really is. The world will only snicker."[5]

The "Hidden" Oligarchs

We have listed many of these transnational power-brokers in "A Chronology of the Revolutionary Roots of the UN." Some are obvious participants in the seventy-year-long "partnership" between Russian Communism and leading American capitalists. As you ponder these examples, remember that today's transformation is no "conspiracy theory." It's really happening!

1913. President Woodrow Wilson wrote: "Some of the biggest men in the U. S., in the field of commerce and manufacturing, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it."[6]
1917 (November 2Cool After Lenin had established his bloody reign in Russia, Colonel Edward Mandel House, President Woodrow Wilson's main advisor, cabled the president the following message from Paris: "There have been... published here statements made by American papers to the effect that Russia should be treated as an enemy. It is exceedingly important that such criticism should be suppressed."[7]

1922. New York city Mayor John F. Hylan said in a speech on March 26: "...the real menace of our republic is this invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy length over city, state and nation. Like the octopus of real life, it operates under cover of self-created screen. It seizes in its long and powerful tentacles our executive officers, our legislative bodies, our schools, our courts, our newspapers and every agency created for the public protection."[8]

1933. President Franklin Roosevelt, 1933 said: "The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the Government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson... "[9]

l931. "We are at present working discreetly with all our might to wrest this mysterious force called sovereignty out of the clutches of the local nation states of the world." [Professor Arnold Toynbee, in a June l931 speech before the Institute for the Study of International Affairs in Copenhagen]
1947. Julian Huxley, the first Director General of UNESCO, wrote: "The task before UNESCO... is to help the emergence of a single world culture.... And it is necessary, for at the moment, two opposing philosophies of life confront each other from the West and from the East.... You may categorize the two philosophies as two super-nationalisms, or as individualism versus collectivism... or as capitalism versus communism, or as Christianity versus Marxism.  Can these opposites be reconciled...? ...through the inexorable dialectic of evolution, it must happen.... If we are to achieve progress, we must learn to uncrystalize our dogmas."[10]

l950. "We shall have world government whether or not you like it, by conquest or consent." CFR member James Warburg, speaking to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, February 1, l950.

1953. During a Congressional investigation Rowan Gaither, President of the Ford Foundation, made this startling admission: "We at the executive level here were active in either the OSS [forerunner of the CIA], the State Department, or the European Economic Administration. During those times, and without exception, we operated under directives issued by the White House. We are continuing to be guided by just such directives, the substance of which were to the effect that we should make every effort to so alter life in the United States as to make possible a comfortable merger with the Soviet Union." [11]

1966. Georgetown Professor Carrol Quigley, Bill Clinton's distinguished mentor and a lecturer on Russian history at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, wrote: "There does exist, and has existed for a generation, an international Anglophile network which operates, to some extent in the way the radical Right believes the Communists act. In fact, this network, which we may identify as the Round Table Groups, has no aversion to cooperating with the Communists, or any other groups, and frequently does so. I know of the operation of this network because I have studied it for twenty years, and was permitted for two years, in the early 1960s, to examine its papers and secret records."[12, p.950]
"One of Professor Quigley's most shocking revelations," wrote Dr. Stan Monteith, "was the fact that the American Communist Party was partly financed by J. P. Morgan and Company.... J. P. Morgan and his associates financed the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, conservative groups, liberal organizations, communist groups and anti-communist organizations." [13]

"The powers of financial capitalism have another far reaching aim," continued Dr. Quigley, "nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole."[12, p.324]

1976. "The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining supercapitalism and communism under the same tent, all under their control.... Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent." Seven years after sharing this observation, Congressman Larry P. McDonald, was killed. He was flying in a Korean Airlines 747 that was shot down by the Soviets. [Read more here]

2001. "The Russians are building tremendous new nuclear/biological and chemical weapons systems--all with the assistance of US technology transfers. ... Further, the Russians are building huge underground nuclear bunkers and weapons production facilities in the Ural Mountains, clearly intended to function during a nuclear war. The US intelligence community (under both Republican and Democratic administrations) knows this and are actively covering for the Russians, so the American people won’t become alarmed.
"Both Republican and Democratic administrations have been supplying the Chinese with high technology weapons systems for years, knowing that they, in turn, are supplying other enemies (Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, North Korea) as well."[14] Joel Skousen

Meanwhile, both parties have used the media to build and maintain a public perception of opposing positions on certain issues, while building consensus on issues that were critical to social change.[15]

Solzhenitsyn's Warning to the "Free" World

Few have explained this Communist-Capitalist partnership better -- or exposed Soviet terrors more effectively -- than Alexandr Solzhenitsyn. After criticizing Stalin in a letter to a friend, he was imprisoned for spreading "anti-Soviet propaganda" and served eight years in torturous Soviet labor camps (1945-1953). When he seemed to be dying of stomach cancer, a faithful doctor shared his testimony and apparently led Solzhenitsyn to put His faith in God. Exiled to Kazakhstan, he was restored to health. In his 1976 book, Warning to the West, he tells us that--

"...there also exists another alliance - at first glance a strange one, a surprising one - but if you think about it, in fact, one which is well-grounded and easy to understand.... [This] is the alliance between our Communist leaders and your capitalists."

"This alliance is not new. The very famous Armand Hammer, who is flourishing here today, laid the basis for this when he made the first exploratory trip into Russia, still in Lenin's time, in the very first years of the Revolution. He was extremely successful in this intelligence mission and since that time for all these 50 years, we observe continuous and steady support by the businessmen of the West of the Soviet Communist leaders.

"[Russia's] clumsy and awkward economy, which could never overcome its own difficulties by itself, is continually getting material and technological assistance. The major construction projects in the initial five-year plan were built exclusively with American technology and materials. And if today the Soviet Union has powerful military and police forces - in a country which is by contemporary standards poor -- they are used to crush our movement for freedom in the Soviet Union....

"Certain of your businessmen, on their own initiative, established an exhibition of criminological technology in Moscow. This was the most recent and elaborate technology, which here, in your country, is used to catch criminals, to bug them, to spy on them, to photograph them, to tail them, to identify criminals. This was taken to Moscow to an exhibition in order that the Soviet KGB agents could study it, as if not understanding what sort of criminals [political resisters]... would be hunted by the KGB....

"Lenin foretold this whole process. Lenin, who spent most of his life in the West and not in Russia, who knew the West much better than Russia, always wrote and said that the western capitalists would do anything to strengthen the economy of the USSR....

"Through the decades of the 1920s, the 1930s, the 1940s, the 1950s, the whole Soviet press wrote: Western capitalism, your end is near. But it was as if the capitalists had not heard, could not understand, could not believe this.

"Nikita Khrushchev came here and said, 'We will bury you!' They didn't believe that, either. They took it as a joke. Now, of course, they have become more clever in our country. Now they don't say 'we are going to bury you' anymore, now they say 'detente.'" Nothing has changed in Communist ideology."[16]

But everything has been changing in America!

Why? What can we do?

A key part of this planned transformation is Islamic terrorism, which has been fueled, funded and used by Russia. As in George Orwell's 1984, there are three main forces used to destabilize the world and create the dissatisfaction needed for planned control in a "single world culture."  [More on this topic]

Solzhenitsyn shows us the basic problem: rejection of Biblical Truth and values. "It is almost a joke now in the western world," he reminds us, "to use words like 'good' and 'evil.' They have become almost old-fashioned concepts, but they are very real.... These are concepts from a sphere which is higher than us."[17]

Indeed they are! "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil," warned Old Testament prophet Isaiah (5:20). 'Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good," wrote the apostle Paul. (Romans 12:9) Yet Biblical views of good and evil are fast disappearing from the American consciousness. They seem too intolerant and divisive in today's permissive, postmodern culture.

In contrast, the "evil" God warns us to shun is promoted everywhere: in books, movies, music, schools, ads, churches.... Since it fits the universal cravings of human nature, its collective acceptance brings an illusion of unity. Our leaders have been promoting it, for it sets the stage for mass manipulation.

The main strategy behind this transformation has been the dialectic process: group dialogue led by a trained facilitator toward an ever-evolving consensus. The result is a "dumbed-down" population of what Pravda called "sheeple" -- blinded masses following false shepherds. Our nation, once famous for its faith, freedom, wisdom and initiative, has learned to trust--

feelings instead of facts
opinions and impression instead of Truth and certainty
human cravings rather than God's authority
group consensus rather than God's Word
Rejecting the Shepherd, we lost our way. America hardly noticed the unseen forces that misled her. But it's not surprising, for "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness...." Ephesians 6:12

Solzhenitsyn points us to the solution: "...we have to recognize that the concentration of World Evil and the tremendous force of hatred is there and it's flowing from there throughout the world. And we have to stand up against it...."[1]

"Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:13

Homeland Security graduates first Corps of Homeland Youth

October 7, 2012. Vicksburg. The federal government calls them FEMA Corps. But they conjure up memories of the Hitler Youth of 1930’s Germany. Regardless of their name, the Dept of Homeland Security has just graduated its first class of 231 Homeland Youth. Kids, aged 18-24 and recruited from the President’s AmeriCorp volunteers, they represent the first wave of DHS’s youth corps, designed specifically to create a full time, paid, standing army of FEMA Youth across the country.

On September 13, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security graduated its first class of FEMA Corps first-responders. While the idea of having a volunteer force of tens of thousands of volunteers scattered across the country to aid in times of natural disasters sounds great, the details and timing of this new government army is somewhat curious, if not disturbing.

DHS raising an armed army

The first problem one finds with this ‘new army’ is the fact that they are mere children. Yes, 18 is generally the legal age a person can sign a contract, join the military or be tried as an adult. But ask any parent - an 18, 20 or even a 24 year-old is still a naïve, readily-influenced kid.

The second problem with this announcement and program is its timing. Over the past two years, President Obama has signed a number of Executive Orders suspending all civil and Constitutional rights and turning over management of an America under Martial Law to FEMA. Also in that time, domestic federal agencies under DHS, including FEMA, have ordered billions of rounds of ammunition as well as the corresponding firearms. Admittedly, these new weapons and ammunition aren’t to be used in some far-off war or to fight forest fires in California, but right here on the streets of America.

Strange Armored Fighting Vehicles

Individuals around the US have begun reporting the site of strange, new, heavily-armed FEMA fighting vehicles. What would a disaster relief agency like FEMA need with 2,500 brand new GLS armored fighting vehicles? According to the agency’s own mandate, as well as President Obama’s recent Executive Order, the answer is ‘population control’ during a time of Martial Law.

One set of images made available by Rense.com shows trailer after trailer carrying these new DHS and FEMA armored fighting vehicles, complete with machine gun slots. They’re labeled with the usual backward American flag and the title, ‘Homeland Security’. Below that and the DHS logo, it also reads, ‘Immigration & Customs Enforcement’. Joining those markings, the black vehicles with white lettering also display ‘POLICE/RESCUE’ on one side and ‘Special Response Team’ on the other.

Global Governance by Economic Statecraft
Oct 2012
Civilian National Security Force is the Creature in Your Community.
Barack Obama, the first US President to chair the United Nations Security Council, said in a 2008 speech, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set.  We’ve gotta have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well- funded.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Fusion Centers are just a few examples of post-911 pre-crime “crisis” circulators (i.e. International Crisis Group) of the National Security bureaucracy.  The Economic Development Administration of the Commerce Department is the “comprehensive plan” pump for “councils of government (COG’s)” and “metropolitan planning organizations (MPO’s)”.  GovEvents, US Communities, the National Association of Regional Councils (“the national voice for regionalism”), National Governors Council and National Conference of State Legislatures connect some of the major dots of “soft law” by organizations like the American Society of International Law and the American Branch of the International Law Association.  The “National Security Professionals” a.k.a. “Civilian National Security Force” is an all-sectors “cadre” spanning: the fractional-reserve banking system, tax-exempt foundations, Federal Government, State, Local and Regional Governments (including COG’s and MPO’s), media, academia, education, business (including “for-profit”, “non-profit”, “not-for-profit” and “public-private partnerships”), ”intergovernmental organizations”, ”non governmental organizations”, “interfaith organizations”, “sub-national leaders and engagement”, “knowledge management”, “workforce”, ”key and major stakeholders”, “civil society” and “human capital” in general.

In 2007, George W. Bush issued Executive Order 13434, called “National Security Professional Development”, a military-industrial cartellization dressed as security.  Section 1 states: ”Policy. In order to enhance the national security of the United States including preventing, protecting against, responding to, and recovering from natural and manmade disasters, such as acts of terrorism, it is the policy of the United States to promote the education, training, and experience of current and future professionals in national security positions (security professionals) in executive departments and agencies (agencies).”  The “education, training and experience” of “current and future” professionals is rooted in Ch. 36 of the United Nations “global to local action” plan, Agenda 21.

Chris discusses a recent show he did with Brannon Howse at World View Weekend concerning family discussions during the holiday, and how the issue of Christianity in the world was handled. Also discussed is the opinion of the youth in our country -- have they been brainwashed by Marxist philosophies sown into our education system? Have our youth become the Manchurian candidates of tomorrow?

Rubio clarifies comment on age of Earth
Dec. 2012
Sen. Marco Rubio clarified recent comments on Earth's age, saying children "have to know the science" that Earth is 4 1/2 billion years old.  Rubio was asked how old he thinks Earth is.

"I'm not a scientist, man," he said. "I can tell you what recorded history says, I can tell you what the Bible says, but I think that's a dispute amongst theologians and I think it has nothing to do with the gross domestic product or economic growth of the United States. I think the age of the universe has zero to do with how our economy is going to grow."

**comment** For the love of money is the root of all evil, Sen Rubio...and if you bothered to read what Jesus Christ says on the end times in Matthew 24, there WILL be famines in the last days!

Jeb Bush Jr. -- son of Republican former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush -- said on CNN the question was "strange" and Rubio's response was "kind of a head-scratching type of answer."

He said the Republican Party has been portrayed as "kind of anti-science and anti-technology" but needs to be "a kind of pro-science and pro-technology party. And I think Marco Rubio is just that."

In an interview Wednesday with Politico, Rubio said his comment to GQ "was actually trying to make the same point" President Barack Obama made in 2007 that there is no scientific debate about the planet's age.

"I mean, it's established pretty definitively as at least 4 1/2 billion years old," he said. "I was referring to a theological debate, and which is a pretty healthy debate.

"To the extent there is any kind of debate about the age of the Earth scientifically, I'm not in a position to mediate that," he said.

"I just think in America we should have the freedom to teach our children whatever it is we believe," he said. "And that means teaching them science. They have to know the science but also parents have the right to teach them the theology and to reconcile those two things as they believe and see fit."

Uhm, Sen Rubio, evolution is NOT science, but a LIE made up by Charles Darwin in the 19th century. Why in the world wasn't this "science" being taught in schools before the 19th century?  BTW, if you bother to read your bible, you will see it ain't no 4.5 billions years old, or millions of years old, or even many thousands of years old...

Matthew 1:1  The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Mat 1:2  Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
Mat 1:3  And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
Mat 1:4  And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
Mat 1:5  And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
Mat 1:6  And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
Mat 1:7  And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
Mat 1:8  And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
Mat 1:9  And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
Mat 1:10  And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
Mat 1:11  And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
Mat 1:12  And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
Mat 1:13  And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
Mat 1:14  And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
Mat 1:15  And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
Mat 1:16  And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
Mat 1:17  So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

14 + 14 + 14 = 42 generations, right? Again, tell me, Sen Rubio, how this adds up to even too-many-thousands of years... Rolling Eyes
